Sorry, This is completely unrelated to what everyone else is talking about but I think it's a theory that could be very likely. I was talking about this case with my mom and she mentioned that maybe wcjd's father was the person she was visiting at Ellis Unit. That maybe she didn't know her dad, her mom or another family member told her who he was and that he was incarcerated in Ellis Unit and then she decided to go see him. This would explain why she was going to the prison and why none of the inmates recognized her, he might not have known he even had a daughter or wouldn't be able to recognize her if the last time he saw her she was an infant.

I have been researching some old Aransas Pass newspapers online, and found various photos of elem., jr high and high school students(mainly of them getting awards, sport team photos, fishing awards,etc). I saw a few that slightly resembled WCJD, but usually the age or something didn't add up. Plus it was hard to see the photos that well, because they were so grainy.

... I actually didn't mind looking through all these newspapers, ..loved seeing all the old ads for cars, clothing, and groceries!.. Cat food(no name brand listed, just "cat food", 4 cans for a dollar..lol, filet mignon was something like 3 dollars a pound! Some of the ads were hilarious( one was an ad for paneling walls, and the caption read, "How to please your wife") Lol!...Old Drive- In movie listings. for movies such as,"Jaws", "Bad News Bears"..Brought back a lot of nostalgic memories.

I know right? The nostalgia is incredible and it doesn't seem to be that long ago.

Sorry if this was already mentioned or seems highly unlikely. But I noticed a bit of a resemblance in appearance here. Did anybody look into Rebecca Jean Dunn possibly being WCJD?

Details of Disappearance
Dunn lived in Las Vegas, Nevada until 1979. Early that year, she and a female companion traveled to San Diego, California, about five and a half hours' drive away. The two women planned to be prostitutes and were accompanied by two men, one of whom was their pimp.

Dunn disappeared sometime in April 1979 and has never been heard from again. Her female friend later returned to Las Vegas without her.

Few details are available in her case, but Dunn is considered to be missing under suspicious circumstances and foul play is suspected.

Concerning the night wind blog, it is for sure a great attempt and if the girl's identity they had found appears to be WCJD, we all will be extremely happy and relieved after years. I am not sure, if the blog is run by a single individual or whether there is a team which writes posts, but if you observe their other posts, they seem to write on conspiracy theories and similar rubbish. Taking this into account, can we consider the blog a reliable source? This worries me.

Yeah, unfortunately, I was that struck me too. It has a tendency to dilute any theories they have. Unlike this site where links to reputable sources are required rather than taking a theory and running with it as fact.

I came here from Facebook page Who Was Walker County Jane Doe? and wanted to see if anyone else saw the one comment a woman left saying she knew the girl in school. The admin of the page was contacted by the person who claimed to know her. The admin of the page let the feed of that comment know what the woman had private messaged her with information on her former classmate. I am not sure if anything else came of this though after authorities were contacted. The woman is apparently also looking for former classmates that may have known her name as she herself could not remember the name of said classmate (WCJD). Sorry if this was already brought up in the thread. I just thought it may be significant to note whether it be false information or not. It is still something, right?

The classmate tip? As far as i know, she spoke with Carl, who is the moderator of WCJD FB page, i can't say with certainly that WCPD is following this lead, i think they are or are looking further into it.

I see this young girl in the youth home video has also been said to resemble WCJD. But I think she is the model of 18yr old Judy Gail Jurgens, missing from Minnesota.. actually, Judy left home for Texas in Oct 1982 with a said boy 'Curtis White', who returned home without her!! I came across that particular story on the website "Whereabouts still unkown", with the usual MP pages not naming him in her Missing Circumstances. I suppose it could be said that Judy is actually missing from Texas if the boys story is true and that was the last known place she was at! It makes one wonder if she ever reached Texas st all. In that case, the poor girl could be anywhere! X
