Could be a long shot, but this man was just arrested in Iowa. Long history of off-the-road trucking. Strangled some of his victims and then dumped them, naked, in ditches. He graduated high school in 79...so the timeline could be off, but it very well could match, as he could have been driving by Halloween 1980. He was operating in MO and TX...and one of his victims was found in TX. Wanted to post because I did find it interesting. Suspected serial killer arrested in Iowa. Here's what we know about Clark Perry Baldwin.

Oh wow how many of these guys are out there?! It’s unbelievable how often they come out of the woodwork and it’s always the same. Truckers picking up women at truck stops and dumping them by the road. This guy could be involved I guess, although like you say the timings feel a little early. But the way his victims were spread across such a broad geographical area just shows that whether it was him or another trucker, the killer could literally have come from anywhere in the US - and likewise so could the victim.

I forget - is there DNA for the killer in the wcjd case?

I know that Carl k shared the arrest of this guy in the bitter creek jd case on his Facebook a few days ago so I’ll sure if there’s any possible link to this case he would have alerted LE.

Hi all,

I’ve just seen that Carl Koppelman has created a new image of WCJD which depicts her from a different angle, based on a post-mortem photo that is unlike the others that are available on the internet. I’m linking the post here: Who Was Walker County Jane Doe?

Carl, thank you so much for your incredible dedication to WCJD.

We will never give up on her.

Yes and in the post Carl shared on the fb page, someone commented suggesting this girl. She looks pretty similar! I need to do some more searching to see if there is info on the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

Omg, this makes me so sad because she looks so much different in Carl's new rendering, much more like an adult rather than a teenager. Not like a face that we are used to. This opens new search possibilities. On the other hand, what kind of face are we looking for, the "old" or the "new" one...?

both or either I think! It’s not an exact science. This rendering gives another view of what she may have looked like which might trigger someone’s memory.

So Elsie went missing with her cousin carlotta Sanchez. On one of the posts about her cousin it’s stated they may have headed to Seattle or Arizona. Maybe they had family in one of those places? Carlotta And elsies family appears to be actively looking for them and commenting on Facebook posts about them. I wonder if they’re aware of wcjd’s case.

Carl told that WCJD is not listed anywhere. And the hair and eye colour don't match as well, WCJD was most likely caucasian and not Native American.

WCJD was *not* an adult.

How long ago did he say she wasn’t listed anywhere?

I don’t know but it seems like for ages, at least as long as the case is being scrutinised here on Websleuths.

If our girl is listed as caucasian and the missing person is listed as native, the comparison might not have been made automatically, depending on what parameters WCJD's LE used.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but what did Carl mean "WCJD is not listed anywhere"?

She's on Doe Network, TXDPS & NCMEC and has been for oh, something like 20 years, give or take. And she's been on NamUs since 2008.

I think they meant that our girl isn't listed as a missing person anywhere not that she isn't listed as wcjd

I guess I’m thinking that if Carl made that statement say a year ago, two years, etc then his statement doesn’t cover missing person cases who have only been listed in databases more recently than his comment.

I know we can’t contact family members of the missing but it would be interesting to get wcjd’s reconstruction in front of elsie’s family. I don’t know how to go about that. Does she have a websleuths thread does anyone know?

There is alot of speculation that our girl was never reported missing...

Thank you for the elaboration, this is exactly what I implied (at times, I may sound abrupt or my grammar may seem weird as I am not a native speaker).

Its also possible that she was, and theres an old report tucked away in a dusty file cabinet that hasnt been looked at since 1980.

Teenagers seemed to be considered runaways a lot in the 70s and maybe into the 80s. She could have slipped through the cracks of LE, or maybe foster care.

And if she either ran away or aged out of the juvenile system, her records would probably have been purged when she turned 18, or 21, depending on the state. It was to let young people with troubled pasts move on with their adult lives without having to worry about their youthful mistakes turning up, but it makes the searching a lot more difficult.
