Accidentally deleted the some teenage part of the first sentence I quoted. I tried editing it but my computer's being weird right now.
But you all get the idea.

Heck, you used to be able to get an inmate or overseas pen pal through Sunday school at many churches. The idea was that being in contact with good Christians could help rehabilitate troubled men.

Don't laugh. It seemed plausible at the time.

Wow...it seems pretty likely that's where she got the contact information for the inmate.

In that case, I'd imagine that a picture of her was not sent to the inmate, because if it was being set up by a church, there would be no reason to lie about having contact with a young girl.

Though, since she was after visiting hours, it seems like she was trying to visit a guard--maybe she was just unaware of the visiting hours for inmates, though.

I could imagine her finding it was closed, being frustrated, and trying to hitch a ride back, maybe--IDK.

Perhaps that's how "Cathy" got ahold of the contact info as well. Visit the guy in Sugarland, his 25th birthday rolls around, and she knows that he is being transferred to Ellis. But she doesn't know Huntsville that well, so she gets lost and needs directions.

I am not laughing! I recall in elementary student my public school and the Catholic school up the street had the students doing a project together where we wrote to jail inmates. I swear like you said the idea was some sort of community service or something. Now the Idea of having children in contact with inmates seems deranged to me.

Here's a scenario: she's been corresponding with the guy.

He says I'm getting released, meet me when I get out.

She manages to get there despite not having a car.

He does the deed.

I do not usually post on this thread, but there is a new MP listed in NAMUS that has a resemblance to Carl's recons of WCJD, and I wanted to draw your attention to her. Her hair is cut in the wing style of WCJD. The MPs name is Patricia Taylor, age 14-15, who went missing in 1980, although the specific date is unknown and a default of Jan. 1, 1980 is used.
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/31371/29/

Her height is estimated at possibly between 64-68 inches. The 64 inches would fit the upper limits of WCJD height. Patricia's eyes are listed as hazel/green. Fingerprints and dentals are not available, DNA sample has not been completed yet. Her hair is listed as red/auburn. In her school photo, she is wearing a pendant necklace, although it is hard to see the pendant design.

Namus lists the circumstances of her disappearance as follows: Patty was sent to live with family in North Dakota, then brought back to Oklahoma to El Reno. From there she was in the care of Owasso Children's Baptist home and the last record they have of her was that she was going from them into Tulsa Oklahaoma DHS custody. We do have an official letter from DHS from 1994 when family was searching then, stating that she'd never been adopted out. That is the last known whereabouts.

WCJD's reply to the waitress of "Who cares?( where my family is)" seems to fit Patricia's circumstances. I sincerely hope that Patricia is alive and well somewhere under a married name. Just in case she is not, I am also cross-posting her in the Arroyo Grande Jane Doe thread also, as Patricia's timeline, resemblance, and her physical info fits both Arroyo Jane and Walker Jane.

You should post her in Buckskin girl's thread as well if no one else has. I don't see her as WCJD, but she resembles BS girl.

I doubt that this was "church girl". My suspicion is that she was runaway and her parents knew she was a runaway and therefore may not even have reported her missing. If that's the case and no one ever comes forward to ask where she went then we will likely never know who she was.

Yes, I think she resembles BG more than Ruthie. Just my opinion ofc!

I agree that she does not resemble WCJD in my opinion.. But awesome find because she may be one of the other does people have been searching for.

Patricia's sister contacted me about a month ago inquiring about WCJD. I helped her out with getting in touch with NCMEC, and the NCMEC helped her out to put her in touch with Tulsa PD to get a missing persons report filed. Once the MP report was filed, they were able to create a NamUs MP casefile for Patricia.

I doubt that she is WCJD. Primarily because the detective described WCJD's teeth as immaculately straight. Patricia had noticably protruding front teeth.

:offtopic: I suggested that they look at patricia as a possible to this Jane Doe:

I had nearly forgotten about pen pals. A lot of teens woukd get them from the backs of the magazines. I can clearly remembering publications like Bop and seventeen as well as many other publications having the spots in the back woth ads targeted at teens reading the publication. Of I remember correctly if a person wanted to place an ad they woukd send in a Few dollars to place the ad. Lots of girls in the 80s were doing this.

Back then we didn't have cell phones and Internet. Everything we did was by snail mail and lo g distant calls that were expensive so you only called if you really needed to.
A guy I knew responded to such am ad and wrote a girl in NY for years. Upon his graduation he traveled to meet her. They kept writing and after college he moved to her state and married her. Many relationships were bridged this way.

I'm not sure if i should post my thought here but i think Patricia looks more like Orange Socks doe and she had a matchstick packet from henrietta, Oklahoma found nearby - the only thing that really put me off last night when i saw her on charley was the height and the nose & it is a little earlier than the listed default date.

I believe she probably got the contact info from a magazine, or from a church, and did not know the man in real life. She may have been unaware of visiting hours or hitchhiking took longer than expected. She may wanted to surprise him with a visit and had not sent a picture. Or maybe he was transferred.

My gut feeling is that she was not having a sexual relationship with a guard or inmate, UNLESS they were transferred to Ellis recently, because even if she was not from Aransas Pass/Rockport, she appeared disheveled, so she had been traveling for quite some time. It seems unlikely, to me, that she would travel all that way...

There are so many possibilities in this horrible, tragic situation. I apologize for my jumbled thoughts. Just trying to speculate and explore possible scenarios.

when I was a teen (late 80's, early 90's) I knew girls who did this and they got their addresses from the back of teen angels magazine (it was a heavily Latino rag with a lot of prison art in it)

Respectfully snipped and BBM. As someone who wasn't alive then, I was wondering about how girls would get addresses for writing inmates--this seems like a plausible theory of how she got the address.

Very good possibility. When I first saw her pic I swore I had seen her before but I think it's just because her hairstyle was like so many I knew. She would be 14 years older than me so I'm pretty sure it was just the hair and that I don't actually know her. I live in tulsa and have dealt w/dhs although it was later in the early 90s if they were like they were then-I wouldn't trust them to even know if she was adopted or not but seeing her age it's doubtful and sounds like she may have been a rebellious child so I tend to agree she probably wasnt sadly. I do feel it's worth looking into because so far no-body else has matched
