Incidentally, here's the NamUs dental chart for WCJD. I was able to get it from the Google Cache after they restricted the UID dental charts, but before the google Cache of the page was updated.

Another sad anniversary, thirty three years ago today someone took your life and your identity. All we were left with was a beautiful girl that came out of no where. You are not forgotten Walker County Jane Doe,some of us will still march on and find out who you are,and hopefully some justice.
R.I.P

So sad to see another anniversary come & go without knowing your name. There are many that still think about you & work to give you back your identity. I hope with everything in my being that you'll go home to your family soon.

Walker County Jane Doe had a 1 1/2 scar on her right eyebrow, none of these girls had it. Wish one of them did I want to know badly who this girl is.

The scar could have occurred after she went missing. It may not be listed on her missing page. IMO the scar is not something that should be used when looking for possible matches. If you find the scar....then great......if not......I'd not allow that to stop a possible match.

There's a new postmortem photo of WCJD in NamUs.

WARNING POSTMORTEM PHOTO AT LINK
https://identifyus.org/cases/4630

She looks amazingly different in this photo than she does in the other photos available of her, and nothing like any of the facial reconstructions available (including mine).

I now see the slightly Hispanic appearance that Lt. Perkins described to Mia. Actually, IMO, she looks like she may have some Native American ancestry.

Looks like I'm going to have to do a major revision to my facial reconstruction.

Here's my latest revision.

:bump: Bumping again for a revision to my first of the two recons that I did of WCJD (Side-by-side with my second version).

Carl, I really think your latest revision looks like the PM picture. That is the style of hair that was popular then, although hers might have been curler. I had that cut, and it could vary on whether it was straight or curler depending on the weather. My hair has a slight bit of natural curl, and the texture of her hair is very similiar to mine. I love how you breathe life into these girls.

Hi guys! Sorry for starting this thread and then ditching it, I've been super busy of late! Anyhoo, I can't tell you how happy I am to see so many of you taking an interest in this girl - thank you!!! Now let me go catch up on this thread..........

FYI...just a little factoid about the Ellis Unit for you:

http://www.tdcj.state.tx.us/stat/drowfacts.htm

Death row was located in the East Building of the Huntsville Unit from 1928 to 1952. From 1952 until 1965, the electric chair was located in a building by the East Wall of the Huntsville Unit.
The men on death row were moved from the Huntsville Unit to the Ellis Unit in 1965. Death row remained at the Ellis Unit until 1999. In 1999, the TDCJ moved death row to the Polunsky Unit.

Unlikely, as one would think this would have been easy to check, but maybe this girl had a daddy or brother or someone on death row that she wanted to see?

I have thought about this, and it seems like it good be a good possibility. Executions are done at late night. Maybe she was going to say goodbye to a dad or family member and be with them in their final moments. That is the only thing that makes sense about the hour. It would also explain why nobody knew her in the prison, if the person she was going to see had been executed the same night that she died.

Execution records for Texas are online. I checked, but they only started keeping those records in 1982...so bam, another deadend.

Also, something that has been bothering me is the guy in the blue Chevrolet that dropped her off at the gas station. Why did he leave her?

Just read that there was an eighteen year gap in executions in Texas from 1964 to 1982, so she wasn't going to say goodbye on execution night.

Looking at the face forward post mortem pic she looks latina to me. Perhaps famiky in Mexico? One thing jumps out and that was a post earlier upthread suggesting a woman might have done this. Based on the beating to the face that rings true. Disfigure a beautiful rival. It didnt work. Despite the beating, you can still see the beauty coming through.
I think she knew her attackers. This was revenge and jealousy.
MOO, and only speculation.
I think her family might be found in mexico, or perhaps undocumented and afraid to step forward.

Excellent work, Carl.

If you do more edits -- she's still got sort of dead-looking skin around the mouth and the nose.

I'm back from being literally MIA.. I only have internet thru phone and these sites are hard to maneuver on a phone.. BUT my WCJD is never ever far from my thoughts .. I plan on conveying the det after first of yr.. I'm going to try to go thru post and get a list of possibles to run past him.. I have tried to reach him a few times with no repsonse .. So it may require me to make a week day visit to my home to go again to see him in person again.. I've lost most of the data I had saved on puters but do still have my written files and notes saved in the files of Ms WCJD website.. I've replied to messages I've received with easier ways to reach me.. If I'm allowed I'll gladly post my email or even cell ..

There was one news report in a paper called something like Texas Reporter.. ( the link is on her site) but that reporter made reference to it possibly being a female killer.. IF I remember right I mention this to Lt when I visited him.. And basically got "anything is possible" but also " not sure where they'd get that info." ??

I spoke with Lt Perkins today.. Task force didn't find much.. Something about a couple of girls that had gone missin from DALLAS area.. That looked promising but ended up not matching. He said they "flooded" the Rockport/Aransas area with info.. And got nothing.. Questioned dentist and found no matches.. I asked him of an updated ruled out list.. And he said he'd pull the file and get back with me next week.. I also specifically asked about Melinda Creech again.. She has NOT been ruled out.. But they need a female relatives DNA to confirm or rule out.. He say he Thinks he spoke with investigators in Indiana and that investigator says family has requested to not be contacted anymore as they are tired of getting hopes up only to be broken?!?! I truly believe and have all along Melinda Creech is a very good possibility and have even tried contactin her brother.. ( before I spoke with Lt) haven't heard back from him .. There are pics out now of Melinda that I didn't see a few yrs ago that reinforce the resemblence to our Jane Doe... So pls take another look at Melinda and let me know what ya think.. Can anyone find dental records on her?? Her brother has a website up with family pics.. But contact links don't work.. I would love to ask her family if they may have a relative in prison in Texas..I really feel our Jane Doe was seeking a father in the prison.. Wonder if we could get a list I inmates from that far bck and see if there was a "Creech"'incarcerated . Though that wouldn't be 100% accurate since she may not have had her fathers last name..

Melinda's Charley project and Namus pages, for those who aren't familiar with the case:

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/c/creech_melinda.html
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/5308/3/

The facial resemblance is certainly strong. Here's one of her photos with Carl's reconstruction. (If you don't mind looking at postmortem photos, you can compare to the photo on Namus as well--https://identifyus.org/cases/4630.)

Based on that whole sad story, I wouldn't be surprised if the family has found out so many distressing secrets that they really can't take any more. But it also makes it plausible that she would have hitched a ride to Texas in the hope that a father in jail was a better bet than the abuse at home.

I just noticed that Namus says Melinda has DNA and dental records in the system. If they're looking for a female relative to confirm or rule out, that sounds to me like the preliminary DNA results must have indicated a possible relationship?

Lt Perkins said they only have mDNA on our Jane Doe ( I can't remember the name of the DNA he said they didn't have but it started with a n) being as they only have mitochondrialDNA is the reason they need to compare to a female family member?? Maybe a member with better DNA understanding can explain that part to us. But also Melinda (aka Mindy) had had a broke arm, wouldnt they be able to see that in bones if our Jane Doe has or has not had a broke arm?? I've spent today reading all I can on melinda .. I know my long absence may seem like I've at times forgot out Jane Doe, but I never have .. I want so bad for her to have her name and her past back.. And her family to have peace and closure.. Next week when I speak again with Perkins I will point out the possibility of dental and a broke arm on Melinda.. As matter of fact I will email him so I'll remember we need to touch on those topics..
