WCJD does *not* look like a woman. Her face is younger and rounder. I don't know why some are so keen to make her seem older.
That’s just my personal opinion. I do not think she looks 12. She looks closer to 16 to me. I certainly don’t think that’s old but I do think that 16 is a woman as well as a child.

Oh yea? Why do you say that? I think she looks young but not that young, in my opinion. 16 maybe, but no younger I’d say. I’ve seen the crime scene photo and she looks like woman, not a girl (sorry to be graphic). It could be the perspective though. Again, just my opinion.
Where did you find crime scene photos?

I wonder if they are referring to unedited PM photos? I recall seeing one online somewhere, I think one of her Jane Doe videos on Youtube may also have one.

I've seen the PM.. I'm thinking 16.

I think she looks closer to the upper end of her age range as opposed to the lower. The edited photo and autopsy photo (especially) make her look younger, IMHO.

Didn't I read somewhere that she was in fact wearing hose because they were used to strangle her and were stuffed into her mouth??

I'm sorry if this has been asked before... I couldn't find any info. Did LE recollect DNA from her killer? (Since he left bite marks on her shoulder).

No DNA at that time so they probably didn't even think to do anything. It was suggested the shoes undergo DNA testing but I don't think that has been done either.

The hose weren't stuffed in her mouth. They were used to stop blood and body fluids from leaking out after the rape and murder.

Was there ever any explanation for what Henry Lee Lucas did with his victims clothing and why he left jewelry on the bodies?

They should have photographed the bite so that it could potentially be matched to a suspect's teeth in future.

They must have because the investigator said they tried to compare it to Lucas but it didn't match. Lucas claimed he had work done on his teeth afterward.

Can you provide a source for this information because I thought they couldn't compare HLL bite marks to orange socks not WCJD because he was edentulous by time he was arrested. Just making sure I have my facts straight.

Over on Reddit, someone made a thread suggesting Barbara Bruno as a possible match to WCJD. I offered to call it in to LE for them because they live in Canada. I know Barbara was suggested as a match here in 2013/14, but did anyone actually submit her? Is she ruled out?

Don't know about the NamUs' rule-out list, but both Barbara and WCJD has DNA available, so this should be a rule out by default.

The rule-out by default is a bit of a fallacy. It's one of the reasons biometrics are no longer viewable by the public on NamUs. DNA Available doesn't state what type of DNA, where it came from or the quality. Black Creek Jane Doe has DNA available but insufficient for profiling. I agree that some possible matches, heck, maybe even most, could be an automatic DNA rule-out but I wouldn't let that stop me from submitting a possible match I felt strongly about.

I personally don't see the resemblance but in the available pictures/quality its hard to be certain. Its always worth a look. And in doing so it also keeps eyes on both cases and opens opportunities to find out more on all fronts.

Yes, go with your guts. The worst thing that could happen is a rule-out, which again drive us closer to solution (hopefully).

Someone a few months ago mentioned that NamUs had fixed its challenges with the various DNA, and was operating with a new algorithm which meant that the different types of DNA wasn't really a problem anymore, but this isn't the case after all? Unfortunately, I can't remember which thread it was, or exactly who said it, other than it was a well-known and respected member; that's why I remembered it in the first place.

The Golden State Killer was caught by putting his DNA into an ancestral DNA database. They should do it for the missing.

I don't think it's her, either. I think all of us can probably agree that WCJD isn't in any of the public databases. Wouldn't hurt to submit it and get confirmation that Barbara's been ruled out, though.

I had an idea that maybe she was reported missing BUT it was years before her murder. What if the reason she wasn't known at area schools is because she had been taken in a parental abduction and was being hidden?
There is also the possibility that she was home schooled, of course.
All the yearbooks I was able to view appear to only be for juniors and seniors. No yearbooks for middle schools or 9th and 10th grade.
