Thats ridiculous! I am curious about a few things..first..it would be interesting if we could find someone to look at this show and read the body language of all involved. Second..is it just possible the police know more than the family knows and have reason to believe she did in fact run off?

My friend who has family related to George say he did fail it. I was so pissed that Dr. Phil's show extended this out a week. Ridiculous. I'll try to get more inside info.

What? A week? I am watching this on the West coast, they haven't said that yet.

George is not coming off very well so far.

If LE is not interested in a lie detector for George and does not give him one (or try to) themselves rather than have it done on tabloid TV, then Austin PD is seriously screwed up or they know that Julie is someplace she wants to be. JMO

Hmm wonder where this phone was when the text messages were sent about this mysterious man "James".

Did Julie and George live close to each other?
Was the George's mother home the day that Julie decided not to take the daughter back?

FWIW:

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but I read earlier on ''lostnmissing'' blogspot that Julie's last few messages on MS 'seemed forced and unnatural'. I don't know what was meant by this, but the statements came from the mother.....and I assumed it to mean that someone else was writing the updates, not Julie. I suppose it could also mean that Julie sounded differently, out of sorts...but if she was online after her 'missing date' it could be that the 'forced' messages just didn't sound like something she would normally say. I'll see if I can link the actual comment. She's the first one on this page....http://thelostnmissing.blogspot.com/2010/04/julie-ann-gonzalez-21-missing-mom-in.html

Is it possible to trace the computer those messages came from? Did Julie live alone, I wonder.

I am not doubting you when I say "if" ( I just wanted u to know that.) Now that being said...

From what I have read on here, George is a bit unstable. I also know that lie detector test are unadmissable in court but really how reliable can they, even remotely, be on someone who is mentally or emotionally unstable.

Boo!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dr Phil! for making us wait

  • #210
I cannot stand Dr. Phil. He comes across as an arrogant self-centered jerk. It totally figures that he's making us wait. However if George did fail it why would Dr. Phil be making a production out of a woman being missing? Oh no wait, I answered that in my first sentence. If George did fail I hope Dr. Phil hasn't made the police wait...

Has anyone heard whatever happened with Julie's credit card and the movie purchase?

Julie did not have a computer, she had an iPhone. Several (if not all) of the messages posted on myspace were "posted from mobile" - probably her iPhone.

I have never thought too highly of Doktor Phil and think most less of him now.
Austin doesn't care 'cause Julie wasn't "high-class" and Phil doesn't care, just wants to stretch out every penny he can for his show! Just my opinion: George is totally nuts and he is totally guilty of murder. The sad part is that for Julie's sake, this search doesn't matter much (forgive me for my lack of faith). But for the baby's sake, they should lock George up and throw away the key. I was glued to Phil show this week, making sure I didn't miss the correct episode, and he has the connections, capabilities, and money to find out every question we have been asking on this thread. Sorry, that George is just too cracked out for me. I have faith in Gods will, but not in George or Phil

What I took from the show other than the polygraph discussion (paraphrased from notes; not in exact order):

  • George lives at his mother Victoria’s house
  • Julie’s mom and aunt Dora went to George’s house on Saturday after Julie went missing, and noticed deep scratches on his face (both sides of his nose)
  • George said that daughter L scratched him (but later it was said her nails are short)
  • George said he would have had more than that in a struggle. George’s mom said he was wearing long sleeves
  • On the same Saturday, George’s mom contacted police; police came to the house and looked around
  • Julie’s mom said George was constantly harassing Julie. Julie didn’t setup voicemail on her phone because she wanted to keep track of his texts
  • Julie’s aunt Margarita said George was physically abusive to Julie and that she saw a bruise; she said George was obsessed with Julie
  • George said they found evidence that a family member on Julie’s side may know where Julie is (he made reference to myspace)
  • One day after Julie went missing, a friend said Julie texted her re James the web designer. That friend told another friend, who tried to call Julie. The friend then received a text back from Julie (or sent from Julie's phone) re James
  • Defense attorney said he sees George as a POI
  • Dr. Phil asked about friend or boyfriend of Julie’s – aunt said he’s been cooperative (who is this and was George aware of this guy???)
  • Dr. Phil read statement from APD

Statement from APD below. Note that this was most likely sent to the Dr. Phil show and I cannot find this posted on their site.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 3, 2010
Contact: Public Information Office, 974-5017

Statement regarding Julie Ann Gonzalez from the Austin Police Department

The Austin Police Department has been investigating this case since it was first reported. Because there is currently no evidence of a criminal act to justify subpoenas for bank records, phone records, etc., APD has relied greatly on the assistance of Julie’s family and friends to gather related information.

Numerous computer searches in Texas and other states and interviews with family, friends, and co-workers have been conducted in an effort to clarify the circumstances under which Julie disappeared. Although no evidence yet has been uncovered to indicate foul play, the longer the time passes between Julie’s last contact with family members and friends, the greater the concern becomes about her welfare. According to family and friends, it is inconsistent with Julie’s past behavior to be gone this long without contacting loved ones.

Because this is an ongoing investigation, APD is limited in the information it can release. However, APD is in regular contact with Julie’s mother. The Austin Police Department is grateful to the assistance of Julie’s family and their tireless efforts to keep Julie’s information in the public forum.

The Austin Police Department urges anyone with information about Julie’s current whereabouts or the circumstances under which she disappeared to call the Austin Police Department’s Missing Persons Hotline at 512-974-5250.

Thanks Cloudajo. I caught that too.

Julie had two or three men in her life at this point and time that could have had access to her:

1. George

2. A guy she is dating.

3. James (if he is a real person)

I hope we get updates! Durn I hate having to wait another week!

I just watched the Dr. Phil show from today (that I had TiVo'd from earlier) and I'm all mad I have to wait another week to hear the lie detector results. However, I will say..after watching the show, my husband and I both agreed that George is doing a great job of making himself look extremely guilty.

Praying for Julie. :rose:

So Julie was dating someone new, George wouldn’t sign the divorce papers, and Julie’s aunt said Julie had plans to go to the courthouse that Friday to pay to get George served with divorce papers because he wouldn’t voluntarily sign them.

[snipped]

Family and friends said Gonzalez was in the midst of divorcing her husband, and dating someone new when she went missing.
