Yes! They show that in the movies, and the victim just falls over. The forehead is not usually the best place to hit someone to knock them out. Takes more force. A haymaker to the side of the head, or a good upper cut, will though. Dude could have had an object in his hand (knucks maybe). Good size knot there.
If that bruise was 24 hours old shouldn’t gravity have caused it to start to flow down his face? My stepmom fell up the stairs and smacked her forehead. She didn’t lose consciousness but did break a couple of ribs. Her bruise migrated pretty quickly and by the next day her eyes were starting to show black and blue from the blood migrating. I don’t know how long, medically, it would take to flow or if everyone’s does or if it depends upon how hard or where you were hit.

I can tell you this much: there’s no traumatic brain injury that’s so severe that it makes you unconscious yet able to take care of a toddler for 24 hours!

I took it to mean he came to, right after they dumped him there. The hours in and out of consciousness, were during the truck ride.

Vence said he was in and out of consciousness and didn't really know where he was until 6 p.m. Saturday. He told police when he woke up he was somewhere off Highway 6 in the Sugar Land area with <modsnip: redacted name of child> in his arms.

Where is Maleah Davis? Amber Alert issued for 4-year-old Houston girl missing since Friday

This is why I'm so confused about the search near the airport - in this article is an embedded tweet where LE has the Nissan on a traffic cam Sat afternoon in Sugarland. Is there anything putting him by Bush besides his mouth? Would EquuSearch hop on that? I don't know how they operate and am grateful they are onboard so quickly for Maleah but everything about this screams Sugarland.

Grandma seems super with it and able bodied. I’m curious if the kids went to BB2 when they were removed from custody? The allegations of abuse or suspected physical abuse were only against the mother at the time of the brain injury. My personal opinion... if she’s making excuses and going out of the way to excuse him, believe his nonsensical tall tale, she potentially could have covered for him previously. If CPS + hospital mandated reporters like doctors or social workers really believed it was abuse and he was the culprit and she refused to leave him they can take them into protective custody. They would hand the parents a laundry list of must-do’s prior to getting custody back including parenting classes, anger management, life-skills training.
I’ve been wrong before.

We dont know that it had a flat tire. He said he heard a noise and wanted to look at the tires, and then supposedly the blue pick up pulled over...

I think there may have been a bit of conversation beforehand too. He was outside the vehicle as the pulled up behind him. He was able to give LE the year and make of the truck, and was able to describe the rims. That suggests to me that he had time to be near their vehicle, before he was knocked out. The rims on the representative truck, are the ones he described. (see vid in link @20sec) I'd probably not taken note of them. They don't appear to be rims that would stand out.

TXEQ is searching that area based on LE's investigation. Hopefully, they are not relying solely on DV's account, but I don't think we know. MOO

I cannot find it to share here, but ABC 13 news out of Houston is reporting the children had been removed from the home by CPS from last August and were just returned in Feb of this year. Maleahs' head injury was during that time.
Can someone find it and post it here please. TIA

Here is a link

ABC13 Eyewitness News has learned the child was recently returned to her home after CPS removed her last August.

I think, at the presser, w/LE, they stated that she was four, but would soon be five.
Is she was born Feb 2015 -- she just turned 4, right?

Just marking my spot. Nothing new to say or add to the conversation. Praying LE is successful in combing through his story and evidence and this precious baby is found soon.

Which brings us to the next big question----were the kids outside of the car too, when the truck pulled up?

Would he have taken them out of the car when he was checking his tires? I wouldn't have, that's for sure.

A dark road, by the highway, 2 tired kids, on a long ride. I am surprised they were even awake.

And did he have a phone or not? If he didn't have a phone, I don't know why he would have stopped there, and not kept going slowly to a gas station.

It makes no sense to me that he doesn't have a cell phone.

EDIT---there were NO car seats in the picture, I was mistaken. just regular seatbelts for them, 2 years ago.

Tuesday or Wednesday?
I thought from the video that the grandmom said that the mom flew out on Tuesday. If so then that's a long time if DV was alone with the kids until then.

I've not read, nor heard, of anyone seeing the child other than the fiance/stepdad did, when she was taken. She's four, did she attend pre-k? If so, I wonder if she attended that week, prior to the day DV last saw her w/the Hispanic males? Anyone see her at a playground, or around the apt. complex? Did I miss an earlier siting along the way?

It's possible they were with her car keys and DV had them. She was expecting him to pick her up at the airport. MOO

I presumed this was the case. You don't need your own keys with you unless you will be getting a ride from someone who doesn't have them. Since she intended on getting a ride from him, she'd not need keys. My dad lost his on a trip once, that he didn't need to take them on.

Heavens, no. You’d see it coming and duck.
1) Self inflicted via a wall or
2) Wrecked the car & hit the windshield
3) Mom slapped the crap outta him

It was never said he was ONLY hit in the forehead. It's totally possible that the forehead happened as he was resisting or moving. It'd just be the most visible injury.

I’m a 911 dispatcher... in my experience, tons of people won’t stop but many people would call this in. In any area. Guy with a baby with wound on his head trying to flag people down?

I would call and pull over down the road, to ensure they got some help. I think most people would at least CALL... even if they only did so because they were afraid of the guy.

Interesting - in looking at 2011 Altima features my search results included an article about how some dealerships are putting tracking devices on financed cars to make the car easier to retrieve if loan goes into default. I learn something new every day.

Yes. This is extremely common if the person has poor credit to start with. The places that finance people with bad credit do it commonly. I'm not sure how common it is for people with good credit.

Maleah was born February 6, 2015. She just turned 4.

Equusearch will search where LE tells them they want them to search. In this case they were called in fast by LE, so I'm fairly certain that's who's guiding their search.

I saw pictures of Mom's car on her FB with car seats for the kids. So I think they would have been strapped in at the time. Would he have taken them out when he was checking his tires? I wouldn't have, that's for sure.

I haven't seen any pictures of seats for the kids. A couple of pictures of all 3 kids where the little one is in a seat but he's under a year there. I haven't seen a single picture of Maleah in a seat or a seat for Maleah. For some reason some people just don't think you need anything beyond the infant bucket seat. They move them to a seatbelt after that.

YOU are correct. My mistake and I edited my post. No car seats just seatbelts.

Oh, ok, so the traumatic brain injury is just "alleged" to have happened as a result of phsyical abuse.
I'm assuming it was the professionals at the hospital who suspected this?
I wonder what led to that conclusion.

Here's an article on that.

According to CPS officials, the girl and her two siblings - 5-year-old and 1-year-old boys - were removed as the agency investigated allegations of physical abuse related to her head injury.
The three siblings were brought back in February.
In an exclusive interview with ABC13 Eyewitness News, Brittany Bowens, Davis' mother, said it was determined a fall was the cause of the girl's injuries.

A fall? A fall hard enough, far enough, etc to cause that much damage to this little girl?

I had to stop reading through a few pages on here because y’all are too fast for me. Always will be, and I’m thankful for that.

Anyway, I hope I’m not repeating or asking questions that have already been asked/answered, though they don’t seem necessarily important in finding Maleah, but - Why didn’t the rest of the family go to the funeral? Or at least Maleah? Why was Maleah left with only one adult that was recently investigated by cps? Did the grandma visit Maleah while her daughter was in CT? When was the last time someone spoke to, or saw Maleah? Excuse my frustration, lack of sympathy towards the adults, but this is occurring way too often. Something’s got to change. Praying for answers and the truth.

They probably didn't all go because of the cost of airline tix. Taking 3 children along would have added hundreds of dollars to the trip.

I want to know who last saw that poor sweet girl too. Besides her stepdad.

YES. I don't take my house keys out of state if my hubby is picking me up. Don't want to lose my keys and so I dont take them along.

I can understand why he might have them on the car key ring.

If the car was stolen and the house key was with the car keys, how did step father get back into the house? Or how did the mother get into the house before he returned?
