Interview with Maliyah's bio grandmother. She's the mother's mother. Video only but worth watching. Her comments are much more in line with what we'd expect to hear from someone who loved Maliyah and also knew her really well.

Unlike the boyfriend and his mother this woman spoke calmly with no histrionics. She shared stories about Maliyah and instead of bashing LE spoke about them getting justice.

Also note something interesting. At about the 7:00 mark she's asked how Maliyah's mom is. Her response was that she doesn't know as she hasn't spoken with her since she arrived in Houston.

A reporter asked her what message she has for other parents. She tells parents to watch their children and know where they are. Don't leave them alone.

She went on to talk about situations where there's a dad and stepmom or mom and stepdad. She continues, saying:

"You just have to be really careful, it's really hard, not really knowing that person."

Hmmm...

The last thing she talked about was how the apartment community produced the Maliyah t-shirts and flyers. Oh, and I think Malyiah's middle name is Rosalie, the same name as this grandmother. Tootie is her nickname.

BIO grandma speaks like a genuine grieving relative. Her poor heart must be broken, and bitter at "someone".

Wow at what she said about bringing someone into the home as a romantic partner.
I think.most of us feel that way after what we've seen...but still people continue to trust a bf/gf.

What a difference compared to the very first interview we heard with the bf's mother Here's someone who truly loved her Tootie and I think it speaks volumes that she is standing with the neighbors

“Tootie touched a lot of lives all over the world and I know a lot of people are hurting but I want the city of Houston to know that we will get justice for Maliyah,” J. said.

I took as “we knew that was our baby” as kinda like in an endearing way and not in a medical/scientific way. Like how when a mom isn’t surprised when another mom is telling her something naughty or funny they did...”oh, I know my child!” Not like she can pick him from a line up but she knows his ways. I could totally be wrong, that’s just how I took it.

In the news video of Maliyah's grandma, she says that she talked to Maliyah on FaceTime every day. I'm hoping she was able to tell police if she talked to her the day before Maliyah was reported missing, or when the last time was.

Actually it is law enforcement. It's info I'm sure they know! But we haven't had the info here.

If they haven't released it to the general public or to the media, I doubt it can be discussed here. We certainly don't want to leak any confidential info from LE. Better check in with a Mod on this one.
