I'm super confused.
- who in the world is "QX" and what does he/she have to do with anything?
- what does some rando neighbor's comment about plywood and blankets have to do with anything?
Someone please help me out here??
the comment about the plywood and blankets comment was a neighbor saying that those items were supposedly hanging from the apartment they lived in and the mom saying she watched her daughter while making a sandwich couldn't have happened due to no view. This is hearsay though at this point. IMO.

What part of Texas does Tim live in?

Yes, it seems LE knew right away this wasnt going to end well. :(

Jmho

If this has already been answered, plz disregard.

TES is located in Dickinson TX. It’s a small town about 30 miles SE of Houston close to the gulf. Idk where Tim lives, but I’m almost certain it’s nearby bc after he lost his daughter, that business was founded and became his life.

Yes, when QX mentioned the living conditions, the neighbors comment popped in my head and made me wonder what the child could have endured/been exposed to.

Just my opinion but it’s obvious to me what happened here.

My heart breaks for little Maliyah and I hope justice is quick.

Great comments on the thread. It's just really hard to see another thread with such a preventable, and senseless tragedy.

Like many of you, I am sitting on my hands as I mutter away. That being said, despite my default instinct, I am going to keep an open mind. While things look bad....very bad for some of the players involved, I'm going to wait for the facts.

Because people are odd, irresponsible, and overall objectionable and hinky, doesn't *necessarily* mean they are murderers.
Thus, I wait while I do my best to keep an impartial and fact based opinion.

Sometimes it's hard. Oh, and btw, I don't buy the "making something to eat" story. At all.

Amateur opinion and speculation

I know you were making a point/a joke but I’d just like to point out that there are men, even older than him, that don’t cook, for whatever unbeknownst reason to me...*inserting eye-roll * My husband is one of those men. He’s 52 and still doesn’t make himself food, let alone a sandwich. It truly BAFFLES me. If I don’t cook he won’t make himself food, and will not eat. He will complain that he’s hungry, and I will give him ideas of stuff to make but he never makes himself food. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Maybe this guy is on the spectrum. I definitely don’t think that he is, but I definitely think my husband is.
Anyway, are his reactions crocodile tears or is he really upset? And why haven’t we seen a reaction like this from her mother? (I’m only on page 10, so I don’t know all the deets yet). If his emotions are real, I bet he’s a Libra. MOO.

I saw a video of the mom, she was rolling on the ground and folks were comforting her. She also spoke and I think I saw a tear or two. She then proceeded to give words of wisdom about leaving kids alone.

lol I am Libra, what is the connection? Today, I was just thinking I doubt I would show any emotions on TV regardless of the situation. So I am always cautious of how I judge these cases. My family would always say to me I don't show emotions but honestly I cry alot. I just hate doing it in front of others, I feel it makes others awkward.

Very wise.
I've posted before that I grin like a loon at inappropriate times when under duress. Really inappropriate, but apparently quite common. So we really can't judge these things as you say.

With that said....if someone is "crying" and you see no tears....well that's a flag to me.

Man, this is just all :(:(:(. At the very least this is extreme negligence b/c if she did disappear like they said I’d bet $ she was stuck outside alone for a lot longer than they say. And now we know the windows were covered up so they could not see her. I don’t believe the mom just went in to cook. What 2 year old wouldn’t follow her mom inside, holding on to her leg? She’d have to be put out there and locked out. MOO. In a high crime area, RSO’s everywhere—that’s a crime to me. I think with the area like it is, it isn’t a stretch to think she could have been abducted.

But it also could be that the neighbors know. I’d still like to know when she was last seen by someone not family. And I’d like to know where the mom and bf were when everyone else, including neighbors, were searching. o_O

What happened to Maliyah Bass
Hope I did this properly. Take it down if not. This makes me so sad.
QX is saying that mom and the bf were at this particular store very late at night, after midnight, and the baby was left at home, by herself,.. before she was reported missing. A 2 year old, left alone.

I'd like to know who was the last to see Maliyah, not counting family, and when, where.

I can't think why a two year old would want to stay in the playground by herself. She was too young to use any equipment.
Yeah and I’ll go further than that and say a two year old baby would be hysterical if you tried to leave her alone on a playground.

Every detail that comes out is worst than the last. :(

When was she last seen???

Quanell X (I think many just shorten it to QX for ease) is a local Houston activist mainly for the black community and often times is paid for his "consulting" work. He has been successful is soliciting several confessions (recently in the Maleah Davis case) but his track record is murky. 10 years ago he made the news for claiming that a young girl (around 11) in Cleveland, TX, was responsible for being SA'd by multiple adult men.
Personally, I'm leery when there's $$ on the table. I'm not saying that's the case here. He does not have a license to practice law.
After reading what he said today about the condition of the apartment I'd like to add ingesting or administering toxic/illegal substances to the list of possibilities in this case. I wonder what else was going on in that apartment?

I know everyone reacts differently, but I'm sorry...I do have a problem with mom's reaction.

“This is really devastating to me. Who could be watching my baby to even snatch her from the park?” says Ervin snapping her fingers, “just like that and bring her all the way out here?”

"Devastating to ME." I don't know....I think any loving mother would be distraught, anguished and a basket case about harm to their CHILD, particularly when it just happened. The ME comes after, during processing and grieving. imo

Also no tears......

Also found BF's interview kind of over the top......again no tears.

Just my impressions
I could be way off.

JMO. I think the little girl died at least a day or two before she was reported missing. I think they but her in the water closer to their house and the slow bayou just pushed her. That poor baby. What disturbed me most was the lady jogger couldn't tell discern if it was a body. Houston is very hot and humid. JMO

I found him to be well spoken, respectful, and compelling in the news clip. Regardless of his motives, I think his presence is beneficial.

As I posted upthread, I don't buy the "went in to make something to eat" story. Not saying this is the case, but overall I would tend to think (in a similar situation) that it was a booty or bong call. But that's just pure speculation.

The neighbor certainly didn't mince words - they think the adults in this scenario have some explaining to do. The neighbor also mentioned a bio Dad in Dallas.

QX said the couple was out late at the drug store without the toddler. Was the child even alive at that point? I think whoever upthread said she was dead for a day or two might be right.

This is just all amateur opinion and speculation.
Not looking good at all. At all.

Thank you for posting this. It's all very sad. The fact that the mother and boyfriend were out at the store "late, late in the night" without little Maliyah speaks volumes about the care and attention this baby received. Heartbreaking.

I'm not a fan of QX but as you said he has helped out in a few cases, which makes it interesting that he will not work with Maliyah's mother and her boyfriend.
Community boiling with anger over fate of 2-year-old Maliyah Bass; Family meets with Houston activist Quanell X
IMO it's important to remember the difference between criticizing a caregiver for not keeping a closer eye on a child and being suspicious of the caregiver's actions. But Q's reluctance to work with the mother and the boyfriend raises some big red flags.

Also, in this case there are some questions that need answering. Earlier the boyfriend said the mother had gone inside to make something to eat for Maliyah and the boyfriend, now the story is that the mother and boyfriend were both inside cooking. And neither thought to let one of them stay with Maliyah?

And hearing that possibly Maliyah was not with them prior to the missing report when they went to a store IMO sets the hinky meter buzzing. LE hasn't confirmed this accusation but I sure hope they're looking at video longer than 24 hours ago.

It still bothers me that LE couldn't find video of Maliyah leaving the apartment complex, either on her own or with a suspect. I'm sure they're on the case though.

We may get news tomorrow...
