That's why I wondered how far it was. I was thinking the trip to the store was for an alibi after dumping her body in the bayou.

Yeah, remember the other Maleah (Davis) and the washbasket story?
I'm a little skeptical about the toy box because people were just asking where she was seen last.
And bf comes out with a whole thing about a pillowcase which she had to have to replace a toy box because he says he broke it.
Kids can carry a blanket or whatev who cares but he got it in that this toybox he broke...so...if you saw him (Boyfriend) carrying one out that's why?
It should be in the regular trash then.

You're right and I do believe it's a silence for a reason. I think I just want justice for Maliyah so badly that it's difficult being patient.

The inevitable online fundraiser went up two days ago by a "family friend," supposedly for funeral expenses. I sure wouldn't donate at this point since there's no rule about where the money is used regardless of the stated purpose.

I also noted that msm hasn't linked to it as they sometimes do in other cases (Gannon was one).

I get the impression it was out of action and so dirty they had to siphon it off for the reason it hadn’t been used or maintained and they couldn’t see the bottom - quite sad in itself really - should be there to be used but isn’t

The silence I'm sure is deafening to us all.

No positive ID the body is MB.

If she hadn't seen a dentist they most likely had her mom give her own DNA to compare it to MBs.

No autopsy results released.

No arrest or arrests made.

I really thought we would know all of these things pretty quickly. Maybe it's not as simple as we think it is.

Perhaps the ME found the DNA of the suspect on MBs little body, and LE is waiting for the lab results to be returned.

We like to think the lab would move quickly since it involves a little two year old child, but in many cases I've followed LE has said they had to get inline behind other murder cases which can cause a delay no matter how we'd like it rushed.

I do agree we may not know who the suspect or suspects are until LE announces the arrest/s, and the DA announces what the charges will be.

I just get the feeling LE is waiting for particular pieces of evidence to be returned to them.

I think these explanations for the silence from LE are most likely and reasonable.
I am curious why the press (especially locally) is so quiet.
Even without statements from LE one would think the print/media would go in some direction about missing children history or something.
Are they holding back on request by Acevedo or fear of lawsuit or what?
When the Casey/Caylee Anthony situation took place it was night and day coverage.
Of course, that didn't end well.

I am sad to say you might be on to something with his comments about the toy box & pillow case. They are important. IMO

Just checking in and dismayed not to see a material update.
The hurricane isn't an issue ATM, so hopefully progress on this case can be accelerated. I watched a few videos the locals made, and while they are all very well intended, the Police Chief needs to get things under control around that apartment!

Let's hope there is an update soon. Things are ready to pop; people are very very angry and upset, and rightfully so. However, they must let the Chief do his job.
