NBC’s Dateline to air special on Kaitlin Armstrong, Moriah Wilson case Friday at 8 pm

Rick Cofer says his client will be found “not guilty”

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson’s name has been in a heartbreaking spotlight since she was shot and killed in May. She was a pro cyclist, rising in fame within the cycling world. One of television’s most popular shows, Dateline NBC, will focus its 31st season premiere on her death.

It’s a two-hour special from NBC correspondent Keith Morrison entitled “The Last Ride.” The special will feature exclusive interviews with insiders in the case, including the defense attorney for Kaitlin Armstrong, who is accused of shooting and killing Wilson.

During the interview, attorney Rick Cofer tells Morrison the case against Armstrong is “predicated on a deeply misogynistic view of her,” and if the case goes to trial, “she will be found not guilty.”

A video clip of Cofer and Keith Morrison…

RC got one thing right: it's the prosecutor's job to prove the defendant guilty. The rest, not so much. JMO

A video clip of Cofer and Keith Morrison…

ooooh, so how can she be in two places at once? Anyone know where she was if she was not at the crime scene?

Doesn’t sound like Cofer has any intentions of revealing that…just trying to place reasonable doubt out in the potential jury pool.

Wasn’t there an agreement that attorneys weren’t supposed to discuss this case to the media pre trial…or am I mixing this up with another case?

Exactly! I thought Cofer was concerned about “biased publicity”. I guess as long as it’s biased in her favor that makes it fair? But he did oppose an actual gag order.

No prejudicial statements.

IMHO It evil to kill a person. It is awful when a spouse kills their partner. It is hard to imagine being so jealous of an individual that you would kill them over a person who is not honest with you and the relationship is not as you perceived it to be or in this case imagined it to be. There are many cases of people snapping. I wonder if K has always been a cliff dweller on the edge. It is amazing how some one "in Shock" can be so strategic and diabolical in escaping. Heck it would take all my energy to get my finances in order much less planning nose surgery. My fingers are crossed that she doesn't get away with it.

From the video clip, sounds like Cofer is saying defense doesn’t have to prove where she was. She simply was not where Moriah was murdered.

Well, ok. She may not have to prove where she was, but why wouldn’t she want to? A solid alibi might go a long way with a jury.

If ballistics match, and KA’s fingerprints and DNA were left at the crime scene, she’s toast.

Can‘t wait to see this Dateline episode.

I will not be surprised if she was "clever" enough to leave her phone(s) at home or somewhere else (investment propety) so it would appear as though she was no where near Mo that night. Sadly for her, her vehicle was captured on camera (albeit with a timestamp ~6 mins off) and CS can testify to her coming home XX minutes after he did, with her Jeep. CS also told police no one drove KA's vehicle but her, with the exception of her sister (too bad sis was in NY so can't be scapegoat).

I'm looking forward to hearing the prosecution's expert testify as to how they confirmed the vehicle captured on camera was indeed KA's and not just a lookalike (flashback to the Moorer trials for the disappearance of Heather Elvis).

So far....it seems to parallel what I know in this case. K is coming up now though.

So the portrayal of KA as a realtor and investor and uber success is coming through...I think we learned it was all a facade

  • #378
If I was watching right now with no prior knowledge I would think HE set KA up to take the fall

So far, the only stuff I had not heard before are that Moriah had stayed previously at CC’s apartment, and that CS dropped a million dollar lawsuit of some sort.

So far the only new info to me is that CS had filed a lawsuit seeking $1 million for a failed real estate land deal (which I believe KA was involved in as well).
