This case has been off my radar for a bit. Trying to remember things. Did she have prior criminal convictions? I don't have time to go back and look at stuff here and I am drawing a blank right now.
I believe all we know of is the misdemeanor charge / warrant. No previous convictions; at least none have been publicized.

Years before she was accused of murder, Armstrong was previously charged for avoiding to pay for a service.

According to court documents, Armstrong was charged in Travis County with theft of service, a class B misdemeanor, for allegedly not paying for a Botox session.

I'm not understanding trials on the same date. Could she just settle by repaying the company she stiffed + some extra and be done with this? Her lawyers fees are going to be much higher than the bill she walked out on.

Maybe she irritated that business enough that they invoked their right to "prosecute to the fullest extent of the law."

It may take a court settlement (a conviction + an order for repayment) to end the case. I know that if I were the prosecutor in the case, I'd be wanting a criminal conviction (irrespective of what the Botox business wanted). That's the whole purpose of a prosecutor's office - to enforce the law.

One cannot just "settle" a criminal matter, IOW.

IMO.

Maybe there is a plastic surgeon’s office within running distance!

Wow. This doesn't make the authorities look great.

If it had lasted longer, CS probably would have gone into "hiding" again.

KVUE confirmed that Armstrong ran away from deputies while leaving a doctor's appointment at St. David's South Austin Medical Center on Ben White Boulevard, shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

A spokesperson with the Travis County Sheriff's Office said that deputies were able to recapture Armstrong about a block away from where she escaped and she remained within the deputies' eyesight at all times.

No additional information is available at this time.

[...] Her trial date was initially scheduled for June 26, 2023. However, on May 4, 2023,
the trial's start date was moved to Oct. 30.

Truly unbelievable. Trying to pull a Danelo Cavalcante? There have been entirely too many escapes across the country lately of various kinds.

KVUE updated the story noting a correction in the location:

AUSTIN, Texas — Editor's note: A previous version of this story stated that Armstrong was leaving a doctor's appointment at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. However, she was leaving an appointment at a different location. KVUE confirmed that Armstrong ran away from deputies while leaving a doctor's appointment at 3707 Second Street, shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday.

I think this is aka consciousness of guilt! :p
And one has to wonder, how much manipulation and cunning were employed to secure a medical appointment offsite?

She is dangerous.

She must be really miserable/desperate.

Perhaps she's always been miserable/desperate and the "pretty girl next door" look was simply that -- a look. Shape shifter, taking on the appearance of what ever works to her advantage, not even limited to the face she was born with. Hello, cosmetic surgery. A user and a poser.

I wonder how her relationship with her high-powered legal counsel was going after all the news media faded away.

All that yoga stuff has to be good for something. Let's see...... squirming out of handcuffs, squeezing through jail bars, worming out of LE's grasp. While I think of it, using toilets without seats...

She took up cycling that way, too. Because the "in-crowd" was doing it.
