What size contingent of US Marshals do you think will dispatch to Bali and other worldwide locations in search of KA? Do they remain stateside until a credible siting is reported beyond our borders or do foreign connections take over abroad?
It is my understanding is that as the lack authority in other countries, US law enforcement does not get involved.

Rather, the US embassy contracts with high end local private investigators. They then run down any credible sightings or tracings on behalf of the embassy.

Once the fugitive's location is confirmed by investigators, the local police are given a very detailed tip. My bet is that the tip is also accompanied by a letter from the US embassy stating that they have a diplomatic interest in the matter and that speedy cooperation / action will be greatly appreciated.

Ideally, the local police act fast, move in, and arrest the fugitive.

Do they remain stateside until a credible siting is reported beyond our borders or do foreign connections take over abroad? Essentially, will US Marshalls chase KA all over the world?

Their hands are tied until they have concrete evidence that they are in the country. Anthony Burgess is wanted for 1st degree murder in the 2000 shooting death of 19-year-old Ruben Rodriguez during an altercation at a house party in Tucson. He is believed to have fled the US within 24 hours of the crime, shortly before the police began preparing to arrest him.

Burgess was on the run for 14 years before the USMS received a tip from a confidential source in the Philippines that Burgess' mom in Tucson was sending him money. They then got a search warrant for his mom's house and uncovered letters that he sent home to his mom in Tucson from the Philippines.

It wasn't until after the USMS executed the search warrant and obtained direct proof that Burgess was in the Philippines that US Marshals were sent overseas to investigate. Unfortunately, Burgess' mother tipped him off, and he fled Manila, where he'd been staying, and went underground. He was last seen in Manila in 2014.

Between 2000 and 2014, Burgess reportedly fled to Mexico, returned to Tucson, drove to Los Angeles, where he boarded a plane to the Philippines, but then eventually returned to the United States.

“We very much believe that Anthony’s mother has tipped him off and drove him back underground,” said Jen Rippey, a deputy US Marshal who has been investigating Burgess' case for years. “We also believe she is still financing him in some way, shape or form.”

In 2016, the USMS added Burgess to their 15 Most Wanted List and upped the reward to up to $25,000 for Burgess. He was 21 at the time of the murder; he is now 43 years old.

Out of the 84,247 fugitives apprehended by the USMS last year, only 591 were international removals, something which in part reflects the complexity of locating and extraditing fugitives from abroad.

IMHO, it would not be wise for KA to have fled to Bali if she indeed spent years studying on the Island.

I’ve visited Bali twice, most recently in 2019. While I agree with others that KA would blend in as a generically attractive western visitor - the island is still small. I think it would be unlikely that she would avoid running into anyone from her previous visits / business. She might be savvy, but it will be difficult to avoid being herself and frequenting the kind of places / activities she likes. Quite easy to run into someone.

Also, the reward money would be a significant motivator for a local, and I’d believe the Marshalls would promote it widely if they have credible evidence that KA is on the island.

Does anyone remember the tip that when CA lived with KA and CS in Austin that people close by wondered if the two sisters
were involved in something because there was so much activity in and out of the house they lived in?

Yes. But I can’t recall where I read it. :(

It was in this article. Won’t paste all it says as it goes into stuff about her other family members

Born and raised in Livonia, Michigan, she moved to Santa Monica, California, in her twenties before relocating to Austin in 2017 where she initially lived with her sister……Neighbors at the gray-painted three-bedroom home told DailyMail.com they didn't speak with the Armstrong sisters often but noted they had so many people coming and going, 'we thought they were running a meth lab'.

No judgement on the PI initialed JJ, you go JJ!, but I’m chuckling to myself that he whipped up these disguise composites and then this quote… no kidding

Jensen believes the apparent cut-price and hasty sale of her car indicates Armstrong's "intent to run."
Yeah I don't think that LE members worldwide are studying those composites tonight hoping to spot her tomorrow. :) I think it's more likely that (1) she will be eventually found via a digital trail or (2) they will find a way to draw her out. As an example, I wonder about the whole sequence of events that includes the trip to the NY campground, the request for a replacement drivers license and somebody dropping KA off at the Newark airport. If LE could make the case that one of KA's family members crossed the line into aiding and abetting a fugitive, perhaps they would use that as leverage to persuade KA to turn herself in...

So she has only lived in Austin 5 years and 3 of those years were with CS, interesting.

I think you’re right. It’s her trademark. I’m sure she’s very proud of it. It’s part of her identity.

I saw a new photo of her today on a YouTube, and it was the prettiest I’d ever seen of her,(with her sister in a bar or restaurant) and the hair definitely accented the look. I think she wouldn’t be caught dead with the frumpy look in the article. Easy enough to put it in a ponytail, clip it up under a cap….
Good point, I think just tying the hair back or braiding it could function well to disguise. In some pics like the cycling picture in her fugitive poster and some scrubbed pictures from an online article on Wheelhouse Mobile, she looks like she has a braid and no makeup and the effect is more windswept pioneer woman vs glam Botoxed Sothebys realtor. Her hair might also lighten naturally in the sun and look less red.

It also appears that Wheelhouse Mobile, (the business that is mentioned in the above article), was firmly in place as a LLC
in the state of Texas just before the split between CS and KA. October 21, 2021.

Very interesting timing, that must have been stressful running a business with someone who had just broken up with you and started dating a younger and more promising athlete that same week

(Per CS interview 'Killer' yoga teacher who 'shot dead love rival was seeing other men,' ex says)

Does anyone think she’s disguised herself as those pictures suggest, or something different? Kind of looks like a haus frau look, not very flattering. I wonder what she’d actually do….
The first time I saw Jodi Arias was on Dateline as a brunette, back when she was telling the "ninjas did it" story. I thought she was soooooooooooooooo pretty. And then later I saw her as the original blonde and of course she was pretty then too. She went super hausfrau for the trial, with the glasses and kind of greasy bangs, and no makeup or couldn't get access to makeup in jail--I don't know--but she's at least one instance where going brunette did not diminish her considerable beauty one bit in my eyes! (I'm an old lady not a thirsty dude for what it's worth) I don't know how she went brunette so fast because I've always heard you have to do it in stages, but I thought she did a great job of it and probably should have been a hairdresser.

I also imagine the US Marshals are closely working with Interpol and have probably alerted agents in the countries she’s traveled to in the past and advised them to BOLO. Singapore and Indonesia are both Interpol members.

Texas murder suspect Kaitlin Armstrong through the years: Love triangle fugitive seen in decades-old photos

Some good new photos. Also interesting that MSM contacted sister and parents of KA but all of them had no comment.

She was very pretty as a teenager.

I wonder if US Marshals are leaning on her family to give information or to report any communication from KA? I assume so. I’m wondering how fruitful it will be…

Texas murder suspect Kaitlin Armstrong through the years: Love triangle fugitive seen in decades-old photos

In the past, KA's father would make a comment to the press, probably to get a message out to Kaitlin that they would help her. Maybe he is working with an attorney now who has advised him to remain silent, and if so, the father is probably advising KA's mother and sister about how to handle the situation.

I think the mother has been more reticent about speaking to the media, just giving a short statement early on. Interesting that the reporters were able to reach CA and ask her for a comment, which she didn't give. But it sounds like they had access to her.

And I wonder if the attorney would be advising regarding a surrender…..I’m assuming they were able to contact Christine at the NY state Haven area, where she appears to be working/residing.

Actually, her sister did not respond to messages left by the Fox News reporter(s) - there are 4 reporters who wrote or contributed to this story.

Her parents responded but said they had no comment.

Three other things I noted:

1) The credit card she left at the spa was "maxed out". The spa is named, which I don't think I've seen before. Was KA having money troubles around that time?

2) APD Homicide Det. Richard Spitler is quoted as saying "was then mistakenly released from custody on the misdemeanor warrant". So if that is correct, they could have held her & didn't. That continued discrepancy in MSM accounts nags at me.

3) "Investigators have said evidence indicates Armstrong followed the pair for at least a portion of their outing." Really? KA saw CS & MW together the day of the murder?

KA was apparently living in a home owned by CS before she fled. Am I correct to assume she & her sister lived in a different home in Austin the two years prior to that?
