So there IS a centralized Black Lives Matter?

Never mind, i found the web page. A State of the Black Union...nope can't get behind that. It is one Union or none, start fragmenting then united we are not.

Some are saying he had a machine gun, do you know where that came from. He had a semi-automatic rifle and not a machine gun.

I am not so sure about that Dexter. He specifically mentioned BLM for a reason. I imagine he might be like the other executioner who shot Officer Golforth (sp?) multiple times when he was at the gas station pumping gas into his police car. That man had gone to one of the BLM protest and iirc he was following social media sites where posters were calling for the deaths of white police officers.

The only ones I have ever seen show up at rallies with long guns and ammo strapped across their chest were at the New Black Panther rallies.

IMO

According to the most recent media reports, he left a journal. In it, or directly to police, he was explicitly CRITICAL of BLM. As I posted earlier, that criticism of non-violent protest is consistent with his being a black nationalist.

IMO, it's very similar to white supremacists who favor using violence in order to bring on a race war.

Extremists both.

Then, does that mean they ARE aware and responsible for the hate chants and social media rhetoric?

Do you all think there was really only one person??

A rifle , I am asking, is the kind you have to keep putting bullets in correct?

I am wondering if they are just switching the tale to only one cause they did not catch anyone else??

How can they be saying there were three people in the garage that started at the same time, from idfferent locations , yet today say he is the only one??

Yes very strange but these 3 people were in the wrong place at the wrong time. They also said the tall buildings made a loud echo and they did not know where the shooting took place at that time.

BBMOf course not. Have you read their statement? I linked an article about it a few posts back. There are people on this thread denying that the killings of Castile and Sterling may have triggered the killing of police officers last night. Using this logic, how could BLM possibly be responsible for the hate chants and social media rhetoric? (To be clear, I understand and support their mission. They do not promote violence and/or hate speech)And they are most definitely aware of it, (the rhetoric, and calls for violence) and have condemned it repeatedly, since the movement began.

Again, all lives DO matter. POC are just asking to be included in that philosophy because as history, and contemporary society has shown, they are not.

It is the great shame of this nation that historically they were not included as lives that mattered for far, far too long.

So do you think that the changes made by white society have just not resulted in attitudes about white people catching up quite yet? That they are still assumed to be a monolithic and hostile group in some circles?

We all know there are five funerals coming.

We all know it is going to be 325 police cars, with lights on.

We all know there are going to be 978 cops at the funeral.

We all know the area is stressed.

Lets just hope nothing serious happens during any of these of funerals, when they need cops and cars that are at five funerals this week.

The only thing I can conclude that there are going to have to be vast areas of the area, that are not covered during this --cops and cars are at funerals

Very dangeroues IMO
I have no doubt law enforcement agencies across the nation have reached out to Dallas PD and offered to help in anyway they can. The reaction of the Dallas PD last night showed they will protect their city. Other LE agencies will aide the city PD to make sure that the streets are patrolled to the standards Dallas is used to. I do not see how fellow law enforcement officers showing their respects to fellow officers will in anyway make the city unsafe. JMO

Sharing a pic that I love...for those not familiar with Dallas, the thing that is at the top is called reunion tower, it's a revolving restaurant that spins above the city, and at night looks like a giant, lit up microphone of sorts and really stands out in our skyline. I wish someone could make the rose blue.

bbm,

During a standoff that lasted for hours after the attack, the sniper said he wanted to kill more officers, claimed — apparently falsely — to have planted explosives in the area, and told police negotiators that “he was upset about Black Lives Matter,” the Dallas police chief, David O. Brown, said on Friday.

Being upset and being critical has (2) two totally different meanings to me. He hated white people, plain and simple. jmo

I know right? What happened to the female they apprehended? Anyone?

On the one hand, a lone psychopathic killer makes me feel much more comfortable because he's gone now. But the idea that one person could catch so many officers off guard and actually hit 12 of them is also really scary.

I read somewhere this afternoon that no one was in custody directly related to the shooting.

Can't quickly locate the link. I'll post it if/when I come across it. I read very little other than MSM at times like these, so I am 99% that I read it from local MSM.

Possible no woman was ever arrested or detained.

Possible a woman was questioned and released.

Possible a woman was arrested on an unrelated charge.

DPD does report they arrested a man at the scene on an unrelated weapons charge. Could be anywhere from felon in posession, concealed carry without a license, prohibited weapon (brass knuckles, etc.) and so on.

I'm not sure I understand your question. Can you clarify who "they" is? And I don't really know what you mean by "changes made by white society". Can you elaborate/explain? I'd like to respond. I have to go for a while, but will check back later. Thanks.

Imo OB.

If an organization is involved in a mass killing. Then there are usually multiple killers. Jmo.

But when 1 guy goes off the deep end and kill others such as other lone serial killers and lone mass killers.

Then we must wonder if the killer had a organizational hate. Or was the killer simply mentally messed up while blaming their actions on another cause. Jmo.

Now most killers are mostly jealous or mentally sick or hateful of the people that they kill without personal reasons to why each specific person had to die.

But they sometimes do try to reason others on the why.

Even if others knew that the person was simply mental to begin with. Jmo.

A continuous alcoholic can only blame themselves. But a true alcoholic will come up with 100s of people that are responsible for their own drinking. Jmo.

Im really frustrated hearing "this happened because"...it's the same thing BLM is sick of hearing. So and so was shot because....just stop. There is no because in this situation. There are no two sides to the story. It's one truth. Innocent people were murdered like sitting ducks.

BLM has expressed many positions. Some have been based on fact and opinion, some on crude stereotypes. Some of their leaders in media interviews or on Social Media in the past have said things that BLM claims now they don't believe or support. Each of us has to decide for ourselves how much credibility to assign to any person or interest group, including BLM, based on their words and actions.

Semantics. More clearly- he REJECTED the peaceful protests tactic taken by BLM. He was NOT a member of BLM.

The only connection between BLM and what he did is that he took advantage of the police presence at a BLM to commit mass murder. It is extremely likely, IMO, that he did so in order to TAINT the BLM movement, hoping an escalation of racial tension will radicalize more blacks.

The thinking of an extremist. And not terribly difficult to differentiate from the legitimate, peaceful, constitutionally guaranteed right of free assembly and speech, aka as democracy in action.

I agree with everything you said...except for that last little but about bad cops causing last night's shooting. A crazy effing gunman caused last night's shooting. No one else. But everything else you said was awesome.

Perhaps I phrased my thoughts incorrectly. I probably should have said that bad cops contributed to the killer attitude of the black man who did the shooting. JMO, in this day & time, any racists cop is a bad cop.............no exceptions. The Civil War ended 151 years ago & it's time all of us get over it. I realize that civil rights for black people were worse than terrible for black people, a total travesty, until Martin Luther King came along. We have not made enough progress, but we have at least made a little progress. It is my hope & prayer that both blacks & whites can forgive & forget & live in peace. After all, we are all children of God & we all deserve respect.
