Yep, franchise license gone.

Thanks! Well, that was quick that they pulled their page, LOL

I was reading it last night. Let's just say the comments were not nice.

Have they lost their franchisee license for good? Wow. It was sounding that corporate was not pleased with the local guy, Jay Patel (IIRC) is his name.
When you have Sgt. Swanton NOT mincing words and hitting back at Patel's statement from yesterday, saying it's all a fabrication, I guess corporate can't have much faith in his franchisee, eh?

A few citizens are now starting the "how many did the SWAT team kill? All of them? It was a planned set-up so gun happy LE could kill bikers" postings :)
It was bound to happen.

JMO, but however many the SWAT team killed, it wasn't enough. What LE actually needs to do is load up all the rival gang bad guys, take them to a contained & isolated place, give them lots of guns & ammo & let them kill each other. If this seems harsh it's just because I have no sympathy whatsoever for gang members.

I think I saw where some land owners were offering their big areas of land to the rivals to let them shoot it out amongst themselves, LOL

According to different news pages, these "clubs" were meeting under the guidelines of the COC to discuss issues within the biker community. This could have been any number of things, but when you mix some of these "clubs" it's a recipe for disaster. The criminal lifestyle is a way of life for a lot of them, and it stretches to the smaller clubs. Those of us who ride only for enjoyment are made to look bad when something like this happens. Not all bikers are bad.......and not all bad people are bikers. Kudos to LE in Waco!

Good post, Hatfield.

I'm also waiting to hear more of the intel that was known leading up to this. I'm sure more will be leaking out in the days and weeks to come.

They showed a re-run on Channel 10 this morning (KWTX) of an interview with Sgt. Swanton, dated May 7th, where he was talking about this biker gang issue brewing. The local DA (for as pro-LE as I am, I am not a fan of this DA, for historical reasons which I can't divulge), is also on record as saying he knew this was a problem.

My understanding at this point, is that Twin Peaks had been hosting several Thursday night "Biker Nights" or similar name. These were known, through some LE intel, as being used as recruiting for these biker gangs. These concerns were being brought up to the local mgmt, to no avail. There was an event promoted for yesterday there, and that's why these different groups were coming to the restaurant. Rivals, geez. Not wise.

My agency was about the only one not involved yesterday, but we're obviously in great contact with those that were. I'm just as anxious as others to hear more of what was leading up to this. It'll be interesting, I am sure.

Oh, one other comment - Twin Peaks is pretty new to the Central Texas Marketplace - don't quote me on this as a fact, but I think they opened last fall???? Certainly less than a year. Like I said, I don't know that they are going to survive this. Neat looking building, maybe empty soon. JMO, of course.

Keep safe up there DD!!

I don't know how to post pics to the threads however, I live in the Austin area....I was pulling into one of our local Walmarts today.....there is a Twin Peaks there as well. Big as day, their sign had BIKE NIGHT up in literally red neon lights. Talk about tasteless and tacky.

The one down here has been opened for about 3ish years or so, I pray we don't have a repeat of Waco down here.

And as it was posted elsewhere T H U G S........knows no skin color.

Not only are they 'a bit' crazy, they're also mean as the devil. Bad, Bad, bunch of folks!

At least no innocent passerby was killed.
There is a Bandidos biker club in my neigborhood, once police rammed through the wall w/ armoured vehicle but found only one drunken guy inside who probably slept through whole thing lol. Everywhere police raiding their premises quite often.
I meet them sometimes at gym, they seem harmless, but some a little off. [emoji88] [emoji317]

Yes, DD, please stay safe. I have a feeling this may not be over yet. While we law abiding citizens are working our tails off, those gang bikers have nothing more to do than get drunk & stoned & raise he77. God only knows how many of them are on their way to Texas. This is only speculation on my part but I don't trust them as far as I could throw them.

Geez............Mr DD is at the fire station today, they were just sent a safety alert from the City to be on high alert, that there are threats against ANY in uniform, not just LE.

All of these biker gangs must have a requirement that no one can join if they are attractive.:D

Good grief that is some hideous looking people and I had to do a double take on the woman's photo.

Woman, what woman?

I just clicked through them and I never saw no woman. At least not one that I would recognise as a woman ...

:dunno:

From the Twin Peaks corporate office (Dallas):
“Unfortunately the management team of the franchised restaurant in Waco chose to ignore the warnings and advice from both the police and our company, and did not uphold the high security standards we have in place to ensure everyone is safe at our restaurants.

“We will not tolerate the actions of this relatively new franchisee and are revoking their franchise agreement immediately. Our sympathies continue to be with the families of those who died and are very thankful no employees, guests, police officers or bystanders were hurt or injured,” the statement said.

So much for the "fabricated" cooperation statement from Patel. ;) Glad this place got shut down.

What bothers me the most is that the gangs chose to start a fight knowing there were innocent people and children in that restaurant ! Idiots, all of them.

Hopefully no kids saw anybody being killed. That can cause lasting trauma. :(
