You must have missed the all caps "IN MY OPINION" in the post you quoted. ;)

So, IN YOUR OPINION someone is excusing the motorcycle gangs based on their ethnicity or job description? Really? What do you base that opinion on?

It was in the part in all caps "IN MY OPINION".

May I demand in the same tone you used, links to YOUR opinion?

And I never said what you are attributing to me. I only said that when the murderous gangs are black, the "th" word is freely used. When the murderous gangs are of other races, not so much. So I guess the "th" word is not applied to all people who behave a certain way.

IN MY OPINION, WHICH IS MY OPINION.

I've a friend who was a long standing high ranked member of a notorious biker gang in Australia, he left and is now a writer .. They treated him like a traitor for retiring, the stories he has told would make your blood run cold, even innocuous types participate in some pretty degrading acts to prove loyalty to one another, and the violence and mob mentality they display towards anyone who 'breaks rank' is something else, and that's from someone who was in clubs since the 60's and has lived through a number of eras.

....... in 2002, three motorcycle gang members were killed and about a dozen others were injured in a shooting and knifing brawl in Laughlin, Nev. The brawl broke out at Harrah’s Casino and Hotel between the Hells Angels and the Mongols, all of whom were attending an annual motorcycle rally. About 120 people were detained by law enforcement. A total of 44 Hells Angels were indicted in federal court, but only seven were convicted. Six Mongols members pleaded guilty to state charges.

Officials, however, have defended their handling of the arrests and the $1 million bonds. “I set that bond because there was nine people killed, and I felt that was appropriate for the incident that occurred,” said Walter H. Peterson, the justice of the peace in McLennan County who made the decision.

a spokesman for the Waco Police Department, said the three bikers who had been released — Juan Garcia, Drew King and Jim Harris, all of Austin — were back in custody. The three men were arrested Sunday after they rode up to the scene carrying weapons and wearing motorcyle-gang colors, Sergeant Swanton said. After their release, new arrest warrants were issued for them, and bond was set at $1 million for each, he said.

“They were not mistakenly released,” he added.( That makes no sense to me - you?)

Much of the recent conflict stemmed from members of the Cossacks refusing to pay “taxes,” or dues that smaller gangs pay larger ones, to the Bandidos, a law enforcement official said.

Bandidos were known to require other biker gangs to get approval before they could wear their “colors,” or group logos.
Similarly in Waco, the violence may have been tied to who gets to wear the “bottom rocker,” or the lower curve of a motorcycle patch that denotes a state where a club has a presence. In this case, the bottom rocker says Texas.
Generally, in order to wear a bottom rocker, a club needs the approval of the local confederation of clubs, which are largely controlled by the dominant motorcycle group in the area.

including knives and chains with padlocks affixed to the ends. this has been widely reported - but it occurred to me they have motorcycles i dont know do they lock there bikes up like that or is it really for a fine wallop to anothers skull?

Some vocations:

excessive for Mr. Smith, a 59-year-old shop manager for a construction company........ Mr. Jones said. “I don’t think he did anything. I think the problem is he was there and there was an injured person that he helped take to the hospital.”

. Mr. Garcia, an engineer for the public works department in Austin who has worked for the city since 2009,..........another suspect, Justin Waddington, was a drainage maintenance supervisor and had been employed by the municipality for 13 years. His status is “currently employed,” the spokeswoman said.

Only 1 of 9 slain in Twin Peaks shootout from Waco; Witnesses say Cossacks instigated

Precious viollence between the two

In a memo dated May 1, the Texas Department of Public Safety cautioned authorities about increasing violence between the Bandidos and the Cossacks, Dallas TV station WFAA reported Monday. The county sheriff has said all nine people who were killed in the melee Sunday were part of those two groups..

The bulletin said the FBI had received information that Bandidos had discussed "going to war with Cossacks." It also outlined several recent incidents between the two groups, including one instance in March when about 10 Cossacks forced a Bandido to pull over along Interstate 35 near Waco and attacked him with "chains, batons and metal pipes before stealing his motorcycle," WFAA reported.

That same day, a group of Bandidos confronted a Cossack member fueling up at a truck stop in Palo Pinto County, west of Fort Worth, the bulletin said. When the Cossack member refused to remove the Texas patch from his vest, the Bandidos hit him in the head with a hammer and stole it.

.

Last March, two members of the Bandidos were indicted in connection with the stabbing of two Cossacks at an Abilene steakhouse in March 2014.

And in December, three Bandidos were arrested for a shooting at a Fort Worth motorcycle bar that left one dead and two others wounded. Fort Worth police said the victims were known members of a criminal motorcycle gang.

Oh, okay. Well, IN MY OPINION, WHICH IS MY OPINION, some people simply want to see racism everywhere, whether it exists or not. IN MY OPINION.

Good morning,

The Marketplace will have all stores open today, except Don Carlos will still be closed. They share a parking lot area with Twin Peaks.

Proud of the citizens here - they've been on FB actively promoting the idea that when these stores open back up, that locals need to go spend $$$ there, to support these stores that have been closed since Sunday. //// Then, when Don Carlos opens back up, to go eat there and tip well, to help the wait staff make up some lost $$$. Several family members of those who haven't been working have been posting and talking about the financial struggle for those who are out several days of pay...and for those Twin Peaks staff that are out of jobs, locals are posting other restaurants/bars that are currently hiring. The local support really is nice to see.

Saw an interview with the family of the one Waco area resident that was killed. As expected, they're saying he was a great guy, didn't deserve this, etc. IMO, he really might have been a great guy, and most people don't deserve to die...but this is another life choice warning/learning opportunity. Joining a "club" or "gang" that goes around armed with clubs, chains and some with guns and has bad blood with other clubs or gangs, isn't a wise option. Who knows how or why this guy got involved in the club/gang. Hopefully others will learn that hanging out with those who teeter on the edge of potential violence, may indeed get caught up in it. (That's what I've taught my children :truce:)

P.S. Re the t h u g word, I was one on here that used it early on to describe the actions of these bad guys, and I won't apologize. I also made it clear I use that word to describe the criminal activities, not a race. I also don't like people and now apparently *computers* to tell me that the t h u g word is a *bad word.* I don't use it in a racist manner, and therefore, will continue using it to describe those that prey on law abiding citizens. That's my little protest side of me coming out. JMO and MOO.

“The management wanted them here,” Swanton said of Twin Peaks officials. “Management knew that there were issues, and we were here, but they continued to let those groups of people into their business.”

I hope this places shuts down for good.

Maybe I've been watching too many of the Mob shows on Discovery but considering the way this brawl went down and the number of deaths at the end of the day, maybe the owners of Twin Peaks didn't think it was a good idea to kick these clubs out of their business. Sounds like a lot of bikers were involved so maybe standing up to them was scary especially if there were more than a couple of their friends around to hear some restaurant owner tell them they weren't welcome at Twin Peaks. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be happy to be disrespected in front of their cronies. This is just an opinion and an overactive imagination.

McLennan County TX Jail - Highway 6

McLennan County • County Jail • MEDIUM Security • 600 Beds

County Jail used by the jurisdictions of McLennan to confine inmates for short periods while awaiting trial or processing. As inmates are staying for only a short period, it has fewer amenities than a jail or prison.

fewer amenities than a jail or prison. Inmates do, however, have access to bathroom facilities and are provided with meals during their stay. McLennan County TX Jail - Highway 6 may also have a common area in which inmates can socialize.

[h=2]Waco police says likely 3 to 4 officers opened fire during the biker gang shooting at Twin Peaks restaurant but investigation is ongoing - @Fox4Natalie[/h]

I don't get it. The issue of did officers fire shots? Did officers kill any of the dead.

There was a major fight going on. Shots were being fired. There was both active participants and innocents present. Had LE not fired, I would have been upset. That is their job to stop the fighting, by any means at their disposal. I am afraid I wouldn't have done much more than blinked if it turns out that 8 of the 9 dead were killed by LE. After all the higher count goes to the better shot. So don't get upset with LE for stepping in, for doing their jobs.

So they were outside agitators?

It says 24 out of 171 were from our county. Most were from the I-35 corridor from DFW to San Antonio. I think it said 28 from the San Antonio area. A few west of I-35, and more from the eastern side of the state.

I've read several of the guys had decent city-type jobs, etc., and at least one article (somewhere, sorry) said he was on administrative leave from his Austin city job. For those who may have been innocent in all this, and just got wrapped up in this and weren't armed with chains, clubs, knives and guns, etc., and were there for the "stated" reason of working towards promoting "bikers rights," they may want to rethink their associations. Tough lesson to learn. Don't join a gang (or club) that causes you to pledge allegiance by hustling money, property or drugs from others, and don't squabble over who is wearing what patches and colors. Hello! I know I'm preaching to the choir here (well, I hope so!).

There really are some great bikers out there.

Last night on Anderson Cooper 360 he interviewed Skip Hollingsworth of Texas Monthly Magazine. There is no link up yet on this interview but when it becomes available I will post. Basically Hollingsworth said of the Bandidos, "They're just a bunch of guys who love the open road & the wind in their hair". When AC questioned him further, Hollingsworth admitted that "they loved to party hard". I don't know if Hollingsworth has lost his mind or if the Bandidos made him an offer he couldn't refuse. For whatever reason Hollingsworth was painting the Bandidos with a rose colored brush. I'll never read anything Hollingsworth writes again. It is the first time I've ever heard anything nice about them. I've lived in the Fort Worth area for 55 years & I don't think you could find anyone in the area that would have nice things to say about the Bandidos. I personally know one family whose lives were permanently ruined when their previously really good son joined that group. How he ever got suckered into that I will never understand.

Yes.

And from what my guy explained to me this morning, that inside video will tell a lot of the story. Then it will show how it rolled on outside. It will help clear up these far out crazies that are already thinking that LE just took this *opportunity* to shoot 9 bikers for whatevereasontheycreateintheirmind. :shame:

We should be very thankful that certain individuals took advance planning to ensure video was had.

Geez Louise! Maybe Hollingsworth should go sit and interview some of the DPS Intel folks down at the Capitol. He might learn a few things about the Bandidos. Someone needs to make that suggestion to him!
Hollingsworth lost me as a reader a few years ago, LOL.
Sad to hear about that family you know, faw. We parents have it rough, hoping and praying our children don't get sucked into bad things with bad people.

It has been reported since the beginning that LEO may have been responsible for some of those shot/killed.

And I certainly hope no one has an issue with that! You are exactly right!
