The same can be said about teenagers.

Absolutely -- but teenagers aren't paid salaries, and given pensions, for doing their 'jobs'.

How come the white kid with the camera didn't have to get on the ground?

It was a race matter. The two obese WOMEN that were fighting with teenage girls were reportedly hurling racial slurs at these KIDS.

Mind you, I'm not going to comment on the obesity -- but if anyone here watches that video, there are two women attacking one teenager, and there are two young folks (just going to guess that they are teenagers too) that are trying to pull the teen girl away from the adults -- they are not attacking the adults. And yet, a political website thought that this was a good video to show how we white folks are victimized.

#shameful

SHE IS A FOURTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL. HE IS A PAID PROFESSIONAL WHO HAS BEEN GRANTED AUTHORITY, WHICH HE ABUSED.

If something like this happened to my daughter and I was there. That donkey would have gotten his teeth kicked in. JMO

I really think that is why the two males moved in to distract him from further hurting the girl on the ground. Thank goodness for them and the one cop who grabbed him by the arm after he pulled his weapon and started to give chase.
I'm afraid to think what might have happened without their actions. IMO

Something I have been wondering about...and I guess this is as good a place as any to bring this up. If there is a "good" place...

I really hope this doesn't come out wrong - because I mean no disrespect to either group.

Is it possible that the issues that seem to be becoming more prevalent is because so many military who have been trained in the past 15 years or so are now leaving the military and becoming LEO?

I am asking these questions

1. Is this true?

If so, seems to me that being in the military and serving during wartime, in enemy territory...and serving your community need to have very different mindsets.

2. Could these mindsets of former military who have been fighting enemy combatants for several tours be something that just isn't necessary for LEO??

Again, I am asking...because it is something I am curious about. I am not making any accusations and I really don't want to offend anyone. I hope that any responses are sent in the manner that I am sending this...

Yes, yes and yes. First thing that popped in my mind when I saw this clown do his thing was that he had spent time in Iraq. Haven't heard if that is true or not but my gut tells me yes.

NO, at that point the pool was closed down and everyone was asked to leave.

And no, profanity should not get one thrown to the ground. But it is sad that a 14 yr old can stand and shout curse words and insults at an officer, and no one finds it problematic.

She wasn't shouting at a police officer. She was shouting at a psychopath!

When is the last time you saw the networks show a tape of a police officer doing something heroic?

When was the last you saw MSM report ANYTHING positive?

Well, that cop is outta there. He is paying for his overzealous approach to the tender teens. Um ... the teens face no repercussions for their misbehavior?

Did
they misbehave? They're just kids, after all, just trying to have some fun. Poor babies.

If LEO tells them to leave a situation, or to sit down and stay during a situation. they don't have to do that, do they? The kiddies can just go ahead and do whatever they want to, and LE cannot enforce their orders.

Do you hold people who are paid to be professionals, on the one hand, and their public or clients, on the other hand, to the same professional standards?

LE are paid to deal with risky situations, but if you watch that video, they were not exposed to any real risk. If anything, they created the risk.

I just watched this video again. After he pulled his gun and chased those two guys away who didn't even come close to touching him. He went back to this girl. She was sitting on the ground just like everyone else. But he decided she needed to be manhandled more, grabbing her by the hair and telling her to "GET ON YOUR FACE" ..... What the heck was that? There was something sexual involved there as well IMO.

Of course, should this surprise anyone as he has already had complaints of racial discrimination and sexual assault. How do guys like this maintain employment? This guy was awarded 2008 officer of the year!!!!

Irrelevant link. She admitted to nothing, she didn't talk in that article or in the video about deciding to go back to the pool, and she didn't admit or even talk about using profanity, or admit to anything else, other then being assaulted by the police officer, and wanting to see him fired for it.

I'll ask you to either retract what you said, or show proof that she admitted to any of that.

Perhaps by repeatedly putting themselves in the position of receiving complaints about racial and sexual discrimination. I can't really guess. But when I saw his behavior on the video, my first thought was 'roid rage.

Speaking of needing to change our culture, I worked in an inner city school for many years. I think there could be a change of culture there in terms of lack of respect for authority. It is a two way street, imo.

Maybe respect needs to be earned and the police are doing nothing to earn it. Does an authority figure, running around, tumbling on the ground like a monkey man, yelling profanity, throwing a 15 year old girl in bikini on the ground and sitting on top of her, and pointing a gun at an unarmed kid, really deserve respect? I think not.

Anecdotally, I can attest to this as I work in the health & wellness fields, that steroid use is rampant amongst police officers.
And before I get into trouble, here is a link to back it up:

The 'kids' were reportedly drinking and smoking pot, which is why the security cops were so upset and called the cops. ALL of the various blogs and websites have reported that.

:facepalm:Link please... Let me change that. Relevant link please.

If anyone is going to accuse anyone else of something along the lines of well documented history of racism then please provide links to back up your claims. Do not throw out volatile accusations like racism without backing it up with the facts.

Thanks Everyone.

We are going to close this for the night.

We will open early Wednesday morning.

Get your rest, take your vitamins, and be well.

Goodnight,
Tricia

I don't know if any one caught the press conference or not---I didn't. I just heard a report about it on the car radio. Apparently the officer's attorney spoke today. And she reportedly described the two previous calls that he had just been on. If I understand correctly, he had just been on a call where a young black man had killed himself in front of his family at a pool party?

Just wondering if I heard that right.

I saw part of the press conference but missed the beginning part where she talked about the impact on him that day of two (I think) suicide calls.

A couple of my comments:

- She probably should remove her chewing gum prior to speaking in public.
- And, what she said was likely done to get out early in anticipation of possible charges he might face. And, to of course draw sympathy for her client.

Interesting, but no excuse whatsoever for his arguably felonious behavior against children that day. He should have recused himself if he was traumatized.
