Again, replace the term 'police' with something else, like black people, and say the same thing. Is it biased or bigoted? Can I say ' I am afraid, and unless I know one personally I don't know if they are rogue?'

When you're talking about a protected minority class, yes, that would be bigoted (and racist). When you're talking about people in a chosen profession, I'm just not sure one could make a plausible case for bigotry. The Merriam Webster definition of bigot: "a person who strongly and unfairly dislikes other people, ideas, etc. : a bigoted person; especially : a person who hates or refuses to accept the members of a particular group (such as a racial or religious group)" (bbm)

fwiw, I do agree that painting all LEOs with such a broad brush is unfair. But I'm not sure how I'd expect the public to act when repeatedly confronted with LEOs getting away with bad behavior time and again while hiding behind the "skirts" of good LEOs. Maybe it's time for good LEOs to step forward and renounce bad behavior and reject those LEOs who continually engage in it.

Yeah, we will never know and that is crappy. Too bad BE couldn't just answer her question instead of ignoring her and ordering her out of the car. My point in this exchange is that IF he had done what is IMO the right thing and the professional thing and that was to answer her question as to why he is politely asking her to put out her cig while she is sitting in her own vehicle then the next events very well could have been avoided. If he would have said something like "yes, you're right you don't have to put it out I was kindly asking because ....." Then perhaps she would have felt respected and at least acknowledged and she could have put it out at that point.
My point is if he had simply provided her with an explanation and since she did not have to lawfully put it out it seems only reasonable to provide her with an answer.,..none of this would have happened.....that is what I'm upset about. It is HIS J-O-B IMO to de-escalate situations and it is HIS Job to do the right thing NOT hers. He is on the clock working a job that he has been trained to do. SB is NOT a LEO. She has NOT been trained to de-escalate sitautions with the police. IMO, BE has all the control and power here and he is the one who chose to treat her the way he did and therefore the events that folded afterwards are because of him. (Nope, I am not referring to her death. I won't even get into my thoughts on that here.)
We don't know what would have happened if BE would have answered a simple question to a polite request he made (not an order) and IMO because we will never know that is what makes me so angry..things could have gone a lot differently. Maybe Sandra wouldn't be dead today.

I apologize for quoting myself.

Yes, as I've said repeatedly We will Never know what would have transpired if BE gave SB an explanation to her question as far as putting out her cig. (this is a given) Legally she did not have to. I'm assuming that is why he asked in a polite way. But that doesn't mean she can't question why is he asking this when she may be thinking that she legally doesn't have to. Regardless if she has rage towards LEO's or not she can still ask this question. I'd want to know why to as I'm not doing anything I shouldn't be.
Anyway, again my point in my last two posts was not "we will never know.." we all know this.
I was wondering what was BE's plan when he ordered her out of the car for asking that question.....you know the question he didn't like....because smoking a cig in your own vehicle is not illegal......I have seriously been amusing myself by trying to put together any logic as to what he would have done IF SB had gotten out of the car at that point?! It would have been interesting to say the least. It's really not a question..just something to think about because it is just ridiculous imo that he ordered her out of the car because she asked a valid question...it was at this point in this whole situation that made me think he is a crappy LEO. I could say more than "crappy" but I'll leave it at that.

Yes, we do not know what he would have done at that point because it didn't happen.....thanks to BE.

Did you read the arrest warrant? He wrote exactly what his intentions were.

I know about Western Union but have never used it. Do you have to have cash?

What hours are they open? Are they everywhere?

The Paypal would solve it, but if you do not have an account, you have to get money into it.

If you do not have enough money in your cc or bank account, how would you deposit money into those accounts on the weekend?

It takes awhile to transfer my payment from my bank to my cc. The account is linked from my bank and the money taken out. But it does not show up right away.

The take cash, cc, debit card checks.
Western Union is every where in the states

I thought it was a very good read and seemed to have the perspective from all sides. Also gave a lot of background of the various players which I found helpful and interesting.IMO

That would be how many?

The ones killed elsewhere don't count?

You know it really doesn't matter how many, cause the action would be the same.

That's absurd. You have no idea what you're talking about.

They have guns. They have the power to make your life miserable. Call it what you will. I am afraid.

I think I remember you saying you don't live the the USA now and where you live the cops don't have guns or tasers so you are safe.

Yes I do.

rsbm

Not as regards British newspapers. The Guardian was selected as National Newspaper of the Year 4 times in the last 15 years -- this is quite an accomplishment given how competitive the English press is, and how high the standards are for broadsheets. And having a political slant is the norm in European newspapers, so it would be nonsensical to disqualify a paper because it is political. Oh, and it's not always one-sided about things -- the Guardian is not like Fox.

The Blaze is a political blog that spins stories covered by other journalists.

She mentioned France and how they don't allow Taser's there because they kill people. I did some checking and she's wrong.

France

Tasers are used by the French National Police and Gendarmerie. In September 2008, they were made available to local police by a government decree,[SUP][49][/SUP] but in September 2009, the Council of State reversed the decision judging that the specificities of the weapon required a stricter regulation and control.[SUP][50][/SUP] However, since the murder of a policewoman on duty, the Taser is in use again by local police forces in 2010.

HMMM. Did the former President attend 4, 486 funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq? Air Force One must have racked up one helluva fuel bill. JMO

The Brits lean left like you . Doesn't disprove my point at all.
rsbm

I'm going to guess that you're not terribly familiar with British politics either; the last two federal elections have been won by the Conservatives, a right wing party that is likely less centrist than the federal republicans.

BBM: Guns are what makes America great. My husband's life was saved because of his concealed carry handgun. The people who attacked him were not armed with a gun. It did not end well for them.

No, it doesn't. It just makes us look like a bunch of bloodthirsty savages. Just read any the recent news articles about that theater shooting in any foreign media and see what the comments look like. Nobody outside of the US thinks that people killing each other makes a country great. Meanwhile their husbands are perfectly safe, and don't need to carry any gun, because they are living in a safe country free of gun violence.

You really don't want to go there re: presidential loyalty.

I haven't discussed this case with my mom at all but I was talking to her on the phone today and she asked me if I knew how to tie a slipknot. I said no. She said every woman she asked had said no.

I asked her why she was asking--because she wanted to see how many of them would know how to hang themselves if they suddenly found themselves in jail? She said exactly.

I brought this up earlier but didn't get too many replies. How many women here would know how to hang themselves in SB's situation?

I am not saying it wasn't a suicide. Just curious on this topic.
