Most of my sales are cooperating brokers now. Not saying the client didn't find the property first but they enlist help, which is their right. However, I wouldn't mind some that didn't have a broker.

But, I am real glad to have a lot of contractor's on site lately.Some are working weekends. This helps in the safety factor. For a few months there was no one but me.

The vulnerabilty is extreme in on site sales. We have to do it. Sara was subject to every whacko with a reason or with no reason She was a sitting duck. We just have to decipher the whys and wherefores. This case could go either way

Do you have mace or another agent? i always kept it with me when i was on site. get a little gun and shove it i your pocket..just enough to do some damage but not kill anyone.
The sad thing is that a good agent takes the time to walk the people thru the models and point out all the features. Long gone are the days where the agent said.."go on through"
But it is nearly impossible to give that kind of attention to your buyers if you are there alone.

Wow, we must work for the same builder, haha. I totally understand. All they seem to really care about is sales, but to your face they will act concerned.

i hope so too, and i think everyone in the DFW area feels the same way. this police department, mckinney, a growing "boom-berg" outside of dallas already has 4 unsolved homicides (same event) that were very hi-profile at the time, and i am sure they do not want to add another hi-profile unsolved to their department's track record.

I'm losing faith in the McKinney Police Dept. They either have no suspect or they are waiting for someone to slip up. I almost think they would be better off divulging a few of their clues and maybe the public could help them solve the case.

i agree Yellowdog...i'm starting to think they have no suspect; nothing to work on....the 2nd person's blood must not be in any data base, & doesn't match up w/anyone close to Sarah

if this person is someone she had recently met off the internet dating sites, OR some sick freak off the street, they may never find them, unless the person starts talking to friends....

I read a post on Cybersleuths where someone stated that they had found a palm print at the scene, but I haven't read anything in the newspaper that confirms that. Of course, I could have missed it.

I haven't read of or seen any reports from the media where the couple who found the body have ever been interviewed other than by the police either. Do you think this is for their protection?

For such a violent murder, this has been kept unusually quiet by the media and I don't understand the reason for it. If they had the murderer, they would have made a move by now.

I really don't have a lot of confidence in these small town cops. McKinney has a couple of other unsolved cases that made the newspapers.

A brutal murder in broad daylight...........no one saw a car? no one saw anyone? no one heard anything? no maintenance workers around? It just doesn't make sense. Being a realtor, there are usually people in and out of those model homes all day long. Prospects and just curious people looking for decorating ideas.

This is someone who went there with a vengeance. Why are they keeping her past and acquaintenances so quiet? Nothing has been released other than the fact that she enjoyed the good life and liked to spend money.
She apparently made a high salary and, yet, her family said she had very little when she died. What was she doing with all that money? And then there are those two strange "attacks" where no one was identified. If someone beat me up, I think I'd get a glimpse of them at some point.

This is a VERY STRANGE case.

It is unusual for a Realtor to earn a specific salary YellowDog. Usually it is commission, or a draw against what is earned in a pay period. So I learned it was feast or famine and usually evens out month to month. If she made overrides it would be different as the income would be more stable.

I thought of the couple who came to look at the house. God, I must be going :crazy: loco yokel, because so little has happened lately in this case!

Yes, realtors work on commission. I know, because I am one. Usually a realtor who works for a builder, however, gets a salary as well as a commission. Her income was reported to be in the vicinity of $200,000 a year. That's a lot of money to have nothing left to show for it when she died.

I held a house open yesterday that had 3 levels, plus a poolhouse in the back. I had my teenage sons with me, acting as docents. It worked great. I had about 75 people through, and many complimented me on my sons:blushing: . I had my oldest and biggest downstairs (I was concerned that someone could go down there and stay behind in one of the closets or nooks and crannies) and my other boy handed out bottled water in the poolhouse. Then, when the open house was over, they went through the house with me to make sure we had no stragglers. I think the days of me showing property alone with strangers or holding big homes open alone are over. It's not worth it and my 6'2" (and still growing) son loves acting as my protector.

DR Horton doesn't pay a salary, just commission. As a sales person there is not always a steady check coming in. Sometimes we can go months before we get a big check so we have to balance our money out to last awhile. Also making that kind of money alot of times people spend like crazy (I can say that- guilty as charged). I make about the same as her, and do the same job she had and after doing this for several years, this is the first year I have decided I had better get in gear and start saving instead of living a life style that can easily slip away if something happened and I have no money in the bank.
My husband actually told me this last night!!
So my point is- this is a competitve job, and in order to be successful we sometimes want to look successful... cars, jewlry, clothing, etc. I was always told that if you look successful people have more confidence in buying from you. I have a feeling after reading about Sara she lived that same way.

Thanks Scandi- you're the sweetest! 75 IS alot! One couple that was through called today and asked to see it again...so, we shall see! They are a darling family and I would love to see them have it.
My husband and kids are ultra supportive of me and my career. They're front row- center when I need help...mowing lawns even...to help me. When I have a closing the kids always get $$$ for their help. They've learned alot about the business and I think they would be naturals!
