TX - Shots fired, injuries reported at ICE facility in Dallas - Sept 24, 2025

so some moron who hated ICE, presumably because of their role in taking the undocumented in to custody, decided he was going to show them, by opening fire, resulting in the killing and injuring of the very same brown people that ICE had in custody??

Jesus wept this world's gone mad. IMO
I am curious about this as well. I would like to hear what is on the casings if they are going to claim there was ‘anti-ice quotes’ on them. After all, they were certain that Tyler Robinson left ‘leftist’ messages, and it turns out that they were simply too old/offline to understand the references.

I’m not calling anyone a liar. But I do feel like I need to hear exactly what those messages were, if they are going to claim they inform motivation.

MOO.

Violence is never the answer. Change comes with peaceful protest and voting against practices an individual feels is wrong. That's how I deal with disagreement.

I don't have X or twitter but they, the casings, are already being shown both on live TV coverage and on X. Only one casing that I can tell in a group of 5 says ANTI-ICE.

I don’t know if we can infer truth in messages just because they were written on bullet casings used during a shooting that is sure to be divisive. The sentiments written on casings could actually represent the shooter’s views, but they also could have nothing to do with what their true views are. The person also could have no particular views at all and just get sick satisfaction out of creating more division. I personally can’t automatically take a murderer at their word.

They were showing pictures of the casings - and what I saw were the words ANTI-ICE on one casing. imo

Thanks, I clearly had not seen that when I posted this!

Another young man who could have used his time and resources to advocate for the changes he wished to see in the world instead he climbed up on a rooftop and used a gun to brutally murder people. Their deaths will not make policy changes. I always come back to WHY??

Why do people not get involved in their local communities to help create policies that align with their views? The cowards that sit on rooftops with guns or who enter schools with guns usually want to send some message, to have their voices heard, but they don't get involved in their local communities. Do they donate time and/or money to the causes they believe in? Do they write their congressmen and women? Do they even vote? We all have a voice in this country, we all can make our own choices about what we believe in, what we spend our time and money on, and how we live our lives. If we all just got involved in our own communities to make an impact imagine how much better the USA and the world could be.

These 3 people didn't deserve to be shot by a coward on a rooftop. I am praying for their families and to the one still hospitalized I hope they recover.

Not a fact, but it seems the shooter intended to shoot officers but instead hit detainees, imo.

I’ll be interested to find out how far the rooftop he was on vs. where the victims were, as well as what prior experience he has had with firearms.

it will also be interesting to learn about his views and what sort of thinking led him to his very poor decision today.

Remember the Club Q murderer, Anderson Lee Aldrich and how, after the fact he claimed to be non-binary? It makes practical sense that his attorney recommended this as a cheap trick to try to avoid hate crime charges. But I've always suspected another motivation was to do one last harmful act to the community he had already massacred. And it worked. His name almost always shows up on those lists trying to frame transgender people as more dangerous than cisgender people (which, of course, they aren't).

All this to say, it doesn't add up that someone would hate ICE (presumably because they support immigrants), have the chance to kill ICE, but then kill the people they supposedly support instead. This alleged writing on the bullet casing feels a lot like ALA suddenly claiming to be non-binary: "I may not be able to kill all of you, but I'll sure inflame some others to finish the job!"

Just my opinion, but the supposed motive does NOT fit the crime.

And how mentally stable he is. People with strong opinions don't gun people down if they are sane and stable. But mentally unstable people are vulnerable to becoming obsessed with an issue with the risk of resorting to violence. imo

I am expecting to hear this shooter has been troubled for awhile. Not fact, just speculating.

That does seem to have been the case with a lot of recent shootings. I said something similar on the Mangione thread, but I think a lot of these people have completely incomprehensible politics because they don't have a consistent worldview, they just pick and choose whatever suits them personally in any given situation

This mentions an adjacent building, and, in another spot, it mentions nearby apartment building. Looking at google maps an apartment building is next to the immigration building. It's listed as The Storey Apartments.

I am not saying this is the building, just that it could be if it in fact was from an apartment building roof.

Interesting point.

I wonder if shooters like this have the urge to destroy and harm and retro-fit an issue to push them into action. They might indeed not care deeply about the issue or be more than superficially informed, but are perhaps driven to destruction, reaction, and relief (for themselves).

I don't know. Just pondering aloud.

Replying to myself - I also want to know what he was doing with his life. My guess is he was floundering. A 29yo with a secure job and hope for the future would be unlikely, IMO, destroy lives like this.

ICE removes statement saying two victims and gunman are dead

We've just heard from local police in Dallas, who confirm that two people have died in the shooting at the ICE facility today, including the gunman.

This contradicts an earlier official statement from ICE that we reported on this page, which said two victims and the gunman were dead.

ICE has since removed the statement from its official X account.
Live updates: 'Anti-ICE' messages found at Dallas immigration facility shooting

So the unnamed shooter =dead, unnamed detainee = dead, unnamed detainee = injured? or
