Shawna "Niki" Nicole Platte, from CA DOJ has her info but I can't find her elsewhere, so if anyone has a link, please post it....she is missing from 2001 though, and it seems to long, but I can't find info if she had a history of mental illness or anything...ughhh

Yeah, I have interesting matches alright, ROFLOL, usually crazy ones! :-)

OK, which match?? The Shawna Platte one? She has red hair and missing tooth? I dont' think that is a match, don't you think they would mention her missing tooth? Maybe not, I could ask.

What potential matches do you all want me to submit?

After 6 years, (which is why I doubt this one) a tooth would be replaced (sorry I have an extensive dental background, lol) thus the red hair too, shows in her pic to be red, but looks more light brown, than actual RED persay...her facial features seem distinctly the same

Check the bone structure, eyebrows lips, nose chin etc...I did an overlay and it matches strangely well

"Despondent and taking Zoloft...thanks that answers more of it...

I agree, especially after looking at the pic comparison, also...you are right about the 6yrs, didn't realize how long it had been...calling in the tips!

Good work everyone....I will wait a few more minutes...is there anyone else you all want me to discuss with detective?

Otherwise, right now, I will bring up Nikki Platte and point them here to see what the rest of you have found?

Hey we know we recognize her face, now, if we could just tell them exactly who she is, I could reward myself with some sugar!

Yeah, looks close, the ears though, what do you think of the ears?

I know someone closely that has epilepsy that had been diagnosed after many years, and when it was , I learned that memory is distinctly affected and thus depression and other things were diagnosed instead...this woman could easily be something besides amnesic, believe me, I have worked with what people call the mentally ill, and sometimes these things happen, I have touched it firsthandd. Thanks Christine

The pics on both typically do not allow a distinct overlay, the photos "bend" the pixels so to speak, ears are difficult to identify on photos, especially like Shawna's.

Let us know what LE says...most likely she has not been reported missing if it is recent, and she 'ran' away, as some folks do...you would be surprised what I have seen in medicine....there is a miriad of reasons for this situation, and most are not sinister, they are just because no one knows the person well enough to see the underlying problems.

I spoke to det in charge of case and he was great to talk with.

I explained to him about LTWH and WS and told him there was a 6+ page disussion about his case here...I just emailed him the link.

I asked him

Are all of her teeth real? As far as he knows.
Does she have any odd piercings? Not that he is aware of.
Can he send us a picture of the tattoo? He is trying to get one, if he can't give picture he will email me a detailed description.
Could her hair be classified by anything other than brown, like red or dark blonde? NO, it is definitely brown.
Was she tested for drugs? Did she have any illegal or antidpressants in her system? NO, she was clean and in very good health.

I imagine the detective will follow this thread and I pray that we can help find this woman's identity!

I will update you as I am.

He is also going to email me a good color picture, I will post when it arrives. (it may be the same pic we already have)

Great job everyone! Keep searching!

It is imperative that they do a test (EEG) to see if she has epilepsy, and should be done by a neurologist. They might see no outward signs of it, but in this case it would be the right call, as I am sure any neuro would agree. If they do this test, and if it is positive, then someone seeking a relative with epilepsy may come forward. This is always surprising to family to find out that epilepsy can do this, and they didnt know the person was an epileptic.

Christine, and to law enforcement, thank you both, working with people who want to find out and help is a wonderful and refreshing thing!

Chrisitine, all the right questions answered, thank you! I wonder if they know whether she has restorations or real teeth, perhaps she has been seen by a dentist, who could post more accurate findings? ALso, a full body pic might help family, if they are looking. she still looks so familiar from my research, but I am searching recent missing and cannot find her, at least, not yet.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for taking the time to discuss your current case involving the woman who has amnesia. As dicussed, we have an online forum of over 10,500 amateur sleuthers who are working on this case voluntarily. There have been many possible matches submitted. I am hoping that you and your detectives can follow us there and see if anything jumps out at you.

You can follow our discussion here (please keep in mind, this is discussion, you'll have to weed through the chit chat to get to the good stuff :D): http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52505

If there is anything specific you would like us to research or do for you, please do not hesitate.

It would be really helpful if we could get more specific information about the tattoo on her back, black/floral is very common. I look forward to any more information you can give us to help aid you in the search for her identity.

Also, I forgot to ask, is there any evidence that she may have given birth?

Also the scar over her naval, can a doctor tell us what type of scar, what caused it, injury or surgery and what type?

Kindest regards,
Christine Jones

Nice work everyone!

I personally get the vibe that she hasn't been missing or in this fugue-state for a long time - perhaps a few months. According to the article
Investigators said she is well-spoken and apparently well-educated.

I don't think she's been missing since 2001 or 2006 even. I just can't imagine someone who is well-spoken and well-educated just living on the streets for 6 years, trying to find her way around. If she is a missing person from ages ago, someone would have found her a long time ago, I would think. Who knows though, stranger things have happened.

I wish there was a) a single national database with information on missing adults and b) a way to sort that info (by date missing, location, tattoos, etc.). Although that would take the fun out of the sleuthing, right? :)

Does anyone know how to make a video and upload it to You Tube? I tried searching there for a missing white female, but had no luck with the information we already have. I did the same on MySpace, but there is so much to weed through and very time consuming. I also stopped the *name* missing search and substituted *state* missing, for example;

Texas Missing
South Dakota Missing

Still no luck. Man! There are TONS of missing people! Where are they??!!
