<mod snip> If you do or don't want to listen to me, and if you do or don't want to listen to "rumors," that's completely your own choice of course. Since there's no accountability, I don't give much credence to wild claims including those from random MB forums, which tend to be a dime a dozen, and often worth much less than that, but that's just me I guess.
I comment on what I see, and I do have some knowledge about how these things would work. I observe how the case seems to be progressing (as reported). Ultimately, I can extrapolate how that would or wouldn't likely entail an actual need and desire for legal help, and make an educated guess.
From that, I would wager that anyone who claims there's been "lawyering up" at this point in this crime is doing so to create an internet reaction with such a term. Slangy, slighty accusatory, fun words, make for lively discussion, attract attention, all the good stuff for a forum.
To be clear, I can see someone having asked a lawyer for advice at some point, perhaps. Maybe. But "lawyering up" offers a much different implication, as does the idea of having an attorney on retainer for this case, and based on what's been happening to date, none of that fits. Not even close.
