That's a good point actually, sounds like a logical scenario to have happened. So women are now supposed to be wary of going out after dark, walking alone, being alone in your own home, policemen, men pretending to be policemen and just men in general basically.The police statement says "the residents became suspicious", so it sounds like she wasn't alone. Perhaps they were expecting she would be and lost their nerve when a second person appeared (perhaps filming them)? Just speculating.

I presumed it ment as it was in a block of flats by the look of things that someone else came out of their flat . (Just my thoughts)
Another part I found interesting from the DM article is that it says "She then chases them from the building and they run down the road." So what were they trying to gain access for? According to the DM they had gained access to the property but were then asked for ID and chased from the building. But once they were inside I imagine two men could of easily over powered the woman...yet she chased them. Very strange. Hopefully with such clear images they can be identified soon.
