UID Victim: The Asian Male, UP9355, John Doe #8, poss. died 1996-2001, found Gilgo Beach Apr 2011

 • #181
I hate noting this, but as with Peaches Jane Doe we have seen the possibility that the post mortem interval for severely decomposed bodies can vary drastically. For example, before we knew mommy Jane Doe was Peaches the ME determined she was likely murdered somewhere around 2006/2007. Come to find out after connecting her to Peaches that she actually had been deceased nearly 10 years longer!

So with Asian Doe, I feel somewhat safe in assuming that perhaps her portmortem interval spans back further than theorized and that perhaps we should be looking at dates prior to the postmortem interval put forth initally. If only we knew the clothes she was wearing we might have a better idea of the timing when she was killed.

"It's odd Namus doesn't have a case manager listed for Tung Tran, and he's not listed in the Doe Network. I don't think I'd contact SCPD because of... well, just wouldn't."

SCPD might be better now. I'd say contact them with your match if you want! The wicked witch is dead so to speak IMHO :)

Don't over look Spanish sounding names when trying to identify Asian male. Centuries ago the Spanish crashed the Filipino Islands. Most Filipinos have Spanish Influenced names. The language is even heavily influenced by the Spanish language. So if you see an Asian face with a Spanish name or a Spanish face with an Asian/Spanish name don't pass it by.
The average height for Filipino men is 5'4 inches. (South East Asia)

For China it is 5'5-5'9
North Korea 5'5
South Korea 5'8
Vietnam 5'4
Just examples
I lived in S.E. Asia for 7 years and had a crash course on why my Filipino co-workers names were Enrique and Julio.

Technically looking femanine doesn't help if he still has a penis so I personally think they'd have him dressed as a flamboyant gay guy type if it was the case. Plus it's so common in trans communities especially back then to often (from things I've watched) end up in the sex trade to make money for surgery so to me it makes sense if that's what he was doing but I think his parents either don't know or disowned him for being not how they want

I would say either he passed as a women super well or the perp picked him up in the dark or online in photos that deceive. But some gay gogo dancers or just flamboyant ones I know often wear some girls clothes like booty shorts and fishnets etc I mean I even have some close gay friends who do drag but aren't trans but based on that someone could think so if they found their corpse with a wig or girls clothes. And even a few that have been male strippers once but the type that for some reason wore heels(never asked why) and we don't even know what clothing he has that they assumed was girls. Or if a wig or heels or what were involved

Transformation of Asian Male? Thought I'd give it a try, retaining all the details from the sketch.
I see it as being a long wig he wore myself butif it was his own hair and he's trans then that makes sense.

I think about this young woman (she likely would want to be identified as such) quite often and what her life must have been like. I know her teeth were not in the best shape given reports. It would take a risky personality to be a sex worker and trans as the likelihood of being abused/killed once their sex is discovered by a client is much higher. Venture to say this young woman was at risk (possibly drug addicted and homeless along with being a prostitute) and may be an immigrant. If at risk and an immigrant I would venture to say she may have never been reported as missing in the USA.

I will say I've always thought Mo Zhang was the best match. Nothing seems to have come of that after he was submitted many years ago. Then again Peaches Jane Doe took way too long IMHO to be connected to her other remains in the LISK case so ... who knows why... SCPD.
I've watched a few things such as one episode of a show where Caitlin Jenner meets up with a trans group and not they discuss it being very dangerous but sometimes the only work they can get or the only way rob to pay for surgery. Often they end up getting it done in Mexico or by some hit or miss surgeon ending up often with botched things. That or he was just a drag queen or gay guy picked up at a bar or club who's clothes make them think trans but wasn't which is very possible also. Which I think asking around trans support groups and various things like it about a missing women wouldn't be helpful
I wonder if the killer didn't know it was a he until after the murder

If we found it's what spots were infamous for trans or gay sex workers maybe it could help?

Just a thought about this male victim. Is it possible that this person could have been directly involved with the Murders and at some point became another victim in the process? With the areas and terrain where these victims are found it would make it easier if there had been two of them due to the difficulty of getting in and out of the areas. Could be possible to do research for the possible victims that resemble him and cross reference any that have been identified to find out if they have any criminal record. The sketch certainly does look like the possible victim very much so. Just putting it out there we are all aware that there are a lot of cases with those working in teams of two.

Has he been identified yet?
Any tattoos?
I have found 2 missing from California that look similar both missing prior to 2001... I have no idea how to upload the images or flyers so I will gladly share the information if someone can help me :)

Upthread there was some conversation about undocumented Asian immigrants in NYC. Another potential demographic Asian Male could be from IMO is Korean adoptees. There have been news stories about the struggles these adoptees have faced as many were adopted into abusive families, ended up in foster care or group homes. Many never received citizenship even though they were adopted very young and raised in the US by American families an estimated 15,000 Korean-born adoptees... grew up and lived in the United States without citizenship.

IMO this scenario could connect some dots concerning Asian Male possibly not being reported missing and circumstances that could have led him into sex work (if he indeed was a sex worker).

I feel the same.

How lonely/desperate/scared he must have felt =( I too, keep going back to Mo Zang ( CARL aligning his photo up with the Asian male & how everything seemed a near perfect match, tough for me to ignore )

This might sound ridiculous... do you think a mistake could have been made in the lab?

Highly unlikely I'm sure, but not unheard of, right? ( Researching other cases friends and I have read where DNA/lab analyst weren't always so careful. Not saying this was the case here, or that it happens often, still? )

Been following LISK, well, lurking mostly, long before TKS was born and I tell ya it is frustrating as hell when you " think " you ( or a member here ) have someone I.D.'d perfectly only to find out you're dead wrong! I can not imagine how frustrating it has been for those of you who have been following from the very, VERY beginning.:gaah:

So I a assimed history body was hole(well bones now) not chopped up? And he must lack any tattoos or piercings or if he had any there's wasn't any skin left to figure out that. Not sure why peaches and Cherry weren't bones but he was. Less I've read wrong and he was chopped up and had skin.

The autopsy said he may have suffered from a Musculoskeletal Disoder and could walked with a gait. Rhematoid arthritis in a big one is South Asia (South Korea) if Asian male were poor and could not seem medical intervention he would have been in absolute agony and probably would have gone down any road to get rid of this pain. The other disorders are no better without medical care. Symptoms of Musculoskeletal disorders are
recurrent pain
stiff joints
swelling
dull aches
I don't think Asian man could have fought back. He was in a vulnerable state and probably self medicating. My heart hurts for him.
