JMO but Ì should imagine that Mo parked up for his tacho break to give himself maximum driving hours and took a walk round the trailer to do his visual checks. Maybe he noticed something amiss with the seals? Or perhaps the refrigeration system flagged up a fault? Either way I suspect he had no idea that 39 bodies were inside the trailer he'd just hitched up. What a heartbreakingly traumatic thing to find, poor young guy must be devastated. That Scania tractor unit is stunning, I bet it's his pride and joy.
There's so many victims in this terrible business

Essex lorry deaths: Police continue to question driver

Police are continuing to question a lorry driver over 39 people found dead in a refrigerated trailer in Essex.

Mo Robinson, 25, from Portadown, County Armagh, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday by Essex Police.

Officers in Northern Ireland have raided two houses and the National Crime Agency said it was working to identify "organised crime groups who may have played a part".

[...]

Councillor Paul Berry said the village of Laurelvale, where the Robinson family live, was in "complete shock".

He said he had been in contact with Mr Robinson's father, who had learned of his son's arrest through social media.

I saw this play out too. One person stated
Mo had been released without charge and they all just ran with it. If anyone questioned it they just replied that it was further up thread. Oh ok. Doh, My inner sleuth was screaming “link please”!!

The comments people make on social media blow my mind. I will never understand why anyone comments on personal profiles. We live in a very strange world.

So real life people actually do get their news from Facebook. When l heard this a while back l was very sceptical. Honestly think SM needs to be regulated through legislation.

Most people seem to think he is an innocent victim. I'm still on side eye facial expression. He had a baby on the way. He has an expensive cab. Good people are capable of doing bad things. Imo.

Will wait and see on this one but l thought it unlikely they were Bulgarian considering Bulgaria is a part of the EU so it's citizens enjoy freedom of movement to the UK (at present anyway)

Discussing this elsewhere and a friend of mine who works very near the site said this:

"The spot he parked in is right outside a disused, currently being renovated, large warehouse - on a through road. No cameras along the road, an ideal spot for letting people out of the back of a lorry in the dead of night, with nobody seeing them exit it.

Whats more, 50 yards further up the road, but around a bend, so out of immediate sight, is a 24/7 365 food bus, ideal cover for late night comings and goings for all sorts of people, truck drivers, teenagers on the way home from parties getting a bacon roll at 3am sort of thing."
