Rigor Mortis - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics Rigor Mortis - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics

Fully developed rigor mortis is an easily identifiable and reliable indicator that death has occurred. The time of onset is variable but it is usually considered to appear between 1 and 6 hours (average 2–4 hours) after death. Depending on the circumstances, rigor mortis may last for a few hours to several days.

Wondering what effect hot but airless conditions would have. Edit heat would speed it up but not it sure about lack of oxygen effect

Are these units/ lorrys completely sound proof? Probably a stupid question but wouldn’t 39 desperate people banging and frantically fighting for life have been heard by someone, at some point on sea or land?

  • #683
Yes it would, l mentioned this earlier- might enable a timeframe now we know what tube the boat left?

Looks like Vietnam is 6 hours ahead of the UK.

Text received 4:28. Sent 10:28 to allow for time difference.

10:28 is either 1028 or 2228

2228 certainly works regarding discovery time (approximately 0140) and early stages of rigor mortis. 2 hours 12 minutes between the 2.

I have more info on these type of trailers that transported the victims on the ship. Remarkable findings from a good friend who runs a haulage business here in the North West of England. I'll post intricate details tomorrow regarding these trailers.

Also, police still at the house of the couple arrested earlier. I'm not sure if it is suitable to post a sort video taken showing the police presence there an hour ago.

One other thing, the containers are not fully constructed out of steel, those kind of things are sea containers without a chassis. This type are built out of a steel frame with a GRP body and that means they won't be able to suffocate a mobile phone signal like a ' Faraday cage'.

More Intel regarding the seals on the containers forthcoming.

I do remember reading something about it being soundproof, I’ve found this link so far from 24 October 2019:

‘It is reported the victims were all Chinese nationals who froze to death in the soundproof truck.’

Migrant who travelled in freezer lorry to UK took video of terrifying journey

Depends on how many crew were on the ship?

The source said the fact the bodies appeared to be in early stage rigor mortis shows most, if not all, were dead when Robinson picked up the container at Purfleet at 1.05am.

I think this answers the question whether they froze or suffocated to death. If they had been in temps of -25 the bodies would have been frozen and it would have been indistinguishable from rigor mortis. They most likely ran out of air :(

But also
“They were wearing little clothing and some were naked.”
The conditions the 39 victims suffered inside the Essex lorry

That suggests hypothermia, as it's common for hypothermic people to feel hot and discard their clothes.

Timeline of trailer movement;
  1. Sources say the GPS data shows it left Monaghan in the Republic of Ireland on 15 October before crossing over to Northern Ireland and then returning south to Dublin
  2. From Dublin, it crossed over to Holyhead in Wales overnight on 16 October
  3. That evening, it travelled to continental Europe from Dover to Calais in France
  4. Between 17 and 22 October, it moved between various cities in Belgium and France, including Dunkirk, Bruges and Lille
  5. On 22 October, it made its final crossing from Zeebrugge to Purfleet

I wonder whether the three arrests today mean that Mo provided vital information that led to these arrests.

I suggest the timeline is slightly off? Im not sure where 3pm sail time came from but could that be uk time? And time difference from CET? If the trailer arrived at the port at 2.49pm there is no way it was on a ship that sailed 11 mins later. Not possible imo, would make sense the ship sailed at 4pm jmo.

  • #699
3pm sail time came from the horrible Belfast live link, arrival time from a previous article from zebrugge port - suggest that is more likely to be wrong but then..maybe they turned up at last knockings on purpose to prevent too much scrutiny
