Man, aged 23, arrested at Dublin Port in connection with deaths of 39 migrants in Essex

A man has been arrested at Dublin Port in connection with the deaths of 39 migrants that were found dead in a lorry in Essex.

The man aged, 23, is believed to be from Co Down, Northern Ireland and is expected to appear to before the Criminal Courts of Justice at 4:30pm today.

The man was arrested by gardai after getting off a ferry at the port on Saturday afternoon.

The blue Scania truck that he was driving has since been impounded by gardai.
