GUILTY UK - Alesha MacPhail, 6, raped & murdered, Ardbeg, Isle of Bute, Scotland, 2 Jul 2018 -*arrest* #8

Wow really? That’s awful. I knew someone on Rothesay who thought they’d been blacklisted by local tradesmen at one point too but wasn’t sure if that was a thing or if they were just being paranoid. Guess it does happen on the island then. Forces you to pay extra for someone from the mainland to come over.

I can’t believe no one at all would help her with this. No wonder she wants to sell it and scarper.

I dont think I can stomach hearing them psycho analyze him and what he did in that sensationalist way that they do for these programmes.
This is absolutely horrific for Genie and the Macphails :(, the Campbells too. IMO

I know what you mean, they already have started in the article. It will be hard for the families to watch, if they even will. They probably will avoid it.

"His ultimate life goal was to kill somebody, he had said that to a friend. He did it exactly how he wanted. He lived his ghoulish dream."

They wont be able to avoid everything that goes with it though, there will be loads more articles like this one again now and the documentary isnt until march:rolleyes:
It's like the media just cant let them try to move forward, each time you think it's all died down and people have forgotten about him they drag something back up and splash it everywhere and pour salt in the wounds of those that havent even come close to beginning to heal:(

I have a feeling that there won't be anything new on it that we don't already know. Not that I want to know anything more about the murder. I would however like to learn more about him as time goes on.

Yeah I’d like to learn about him as time goes by too. Very curious what procedures and programmes they have in polmont for young sex offenders. I think it’s inevitable that tv documentaries and newspaper articles will continue to talk about him for years to come. I still rewatch old YouTube videos on Scott Peterson and also the Jodi arias case where there was live footage from the court too.

Very chilling and still baffling. A schoolboy's first conviction, seemingly opportunistic and the most barbaric and worst crime in Scottish history.
I was clearing out my files and came across the Appeal notes. I reread some of it - this stands out;
"He (senior counsel for the appellant) noted that some of the detail given by the appellant in the post-trial reports was worse than the evidence, and he did not intend to read it out."

I know, it is. I agree, still such a horrific yet strange case. Oh, I remember that too, I was thinking about it as well at the time. Who knows what it meant. It's a bit grim.

Perhaps that comment alluded to things he did to poor Alesha or things she said while still alive and suffering that wouldn’t be shown from evidence. Doesn’t bear thinking about. Such a sad, shocking case.

God that trailer just feels so creepy seeing Rothesay’s beautiful views being shown alongside the voiceover about what occurred. It is true that Rothesay is like being from a different time, it has that ye olde feel about it, not modern like being on the mainland. It’ll be a shame if it’s always associated with what happened. I wish I could watch the programme when it comes out but it’s only on sky isn’t in?

Some thoughts about Campbell and the murder by the psychologist on the upcoming TV show.
Feel sorry for Alesha's family. I doubt they'll watch it or read the papers.

Alesha MacPhail's teenage killer, 17, 'took his time' with murder claims psychologist | Daily Mail Online

I read that, it was interesting and awful at the same time but do you think he definitely thought he was getting caught/found guilty? Because he did try to dispose of his clothes and then came up with that whole elaborate defence. He had quite a web of lies right from his first interview and being charged all the way through to the trial? And apparently he was always calm.

But yes, it must be dreadful for her family, I'm sure they'll be avoiding everything.

That's a point. I wonder if this psychologist has had access to some of the medical and crime reports or is she surmising and possibly dramatising his motives?
The horrible part about the time that the murder took and the amount of injuries on the body does suggest what she is saying.
I think that it could all be true - the calmness; the fact that he knew that he would get caught. Maybe at some point during and after, a bit of sanity and realisation crept into his brain and that's when he started trying to cover his tracks.
Do you remember that image of him coming round the back of the house and the confident way he walked? And not forgetting showing a photo of himself saying he was the killer. Chilling.

here we go again...more questions and no answers!

I don't think she would have had access, to be honest, maybe she did but I'd imagine she's just going off of public information.
I know what you mean, the length of time and extent of injuries does lend itself to that, who knows what was in his mind, But I feel like he may have felt like he could have gotten away with it. Or didn't even plan that far ahead perhaps? I don't know.
Yes, he was totally unfazed on the CCTV. True. Like bragging.

I know, so annoying lol!

Yeah, that as well possibly @Kiranerys haha. I know what you mean.
Also, they don't get the Crime & Investigation channel in prison I don't think? Unless they have Sky/Virgin in there (wouldn't surprise me mind you). So he won't be able to watch the documentary.

Yeah I'm pretty sure its just your bog standard freeview, thank god,can you even imagine?

I don't think she has had access, she pops up a quite regularly on these types of programmes, her and that other woman with the bobbed hair and the chap with the glasses and the bowtie:D

Yeah There’s a red head woman too that’s always on those types of shows, not Emma kenny. I don’t know her name but can picture her face. David Wilson has been slacking on the crime docs recently hasn’t he? He was always on them and now I never see him
