Ok i’m From Edinburgh and this is more Glaswegian but basically...he failed to pay him for the cannabis. Hefty is slang for definitely in Scotland. Bumped meaning failed to pay.
Thanks!

Bumped in this context meaning maybe he felt he was given too little or the quality wasn’t to his taste. Who knows. He talks like a 16 year old ned tho, showing the immaturity of him tbh.

Good translation. Also "Pollin" is a type of cannabis resin.

I always thought it was spelt pollen though.

I can't remember seeing this tweet, but I may have missed it:

Defence asks Alesha’s dad whether he heard his girlfriend Toni saying “she’s in a better place” and “it’s all for the best” in the days after the 6 year old died. He denies hearing that.

Yeah I think it is spelt with an ‘e’. Going by the text I don’t think he’s very literate.

Whaaaaaaat. I wonder where the defence got this from - ugh this boy really is a piece of work. Sounds like he is infatuated with this family IMHO

Alesha's grandfather is now giving evidence

Alesha’s grandfather Calum MacPhail is now giving evidence.

He says he saw Alesha on the Isle of Bute at least every second weekend.

He says on the night she went missing, his partner had left the key in the door and did not remove it when she went to bed.

He tells the court that in Rothesay a lot of people leave their doors unlocked.

Alesha's grandpa: 'She said goodnight...it's the last time I set eyes on her'
Alesha’s grandfather tells court he woke to find her bedroom door wide open on the morning of her disappearance.

He says “everyone was panicking”.

His partner Angela “called emergency services” while he “got in his car”.

The night before her disappearance, he describes Alesha coming into his bedroom, jumping up on the bed, giving him a cuddle and saying “goodnight grandpa”.

“It’s the last time I set eyes on her,” he tells the court.

Alesha’s grandfather tells court of looking in Alesha’s room and the bed was empty. Looked in the lounge, kitchen, no sign of her anywhere. “We searched underneath all the beds, in all the wardrobes, but there was no sign of her

Does anyone recall how many bedrooms the home had? Sleeping arrangements?

Do we know the type of door to their immediate flat?

It doesn't say if the key was left on the inside or outside of the door does it?
I'm wondering if it could be that they locked the door but left key in the lock (if you do that btw and get burgled, your insurance is void) and he's reached a hand through the letterbox? And got the key and let himself in ...

Grandfather breaks down in tears in court

Calum MacPhail, Alesha’s grandfather, breaks down as he recalls the moment he was gathered into a room with other family members before being told: “We have found her but she’s passed.”

Various people have left the public benches.

Before recalling being told the news, he told the court: “We searched underneath all the beds, in all the wardrobes, but there was no sign of her.”

Alesha’s grandfather was in the car searching for her and was driving past St Ninian’s Church when he saw policemouttinf tape across the road. They had cordoned off the High Road and a policeman standing there told him he couldn’t go in.

It would be on record surely if it was a tweet, door unlocked, until this we never locked our door, all changed, my heart goes out to the family, how do you get over losing your child, how was the accused defence lawyer picked and who pays for him, is his parents in court?
