Don't think I want to make fun of this situation. Sometimes, working at cases you need some "lightening up", just to deal with the sadness.

Benches, garbage bins, things to put your dog poo in, public toilets...and the like.. public things placed by City Hall for our convenience :)

I suppose it's things like public benches and flower beds.

Ah! Thanks both! All I could think of was picnic tables and they're not really things a person could disappear in

Flower beds, large bins, public toilets, that makes sense. He could've very well needed a toilet after drinking alcohol and maybe he had a medical episode while locked in a stall. But then, it's been a week, how often do they get cleaned? Surely he would have been found by now.

Just saw local news about this and noticed how much water there is locally (and how high it is)

I'm actually a bit skeptic about the flooding.....see my posts up thread. How much water is there extra?

I think there is some relevance to just posting the still and not the CCTV video....but I don't want to speculate.....

I hope the Police are given full access to any CCTV footage a.s.a.p. in a situation like this. They know the rules/guidelines & surely know how they'd need handle procedures correctly? They must have had access by now!

*I assumed the landlords refusal to access included the Police in my previous post. Apologies if I read that wrong.
If he did refuse to hand it over to the police then they can seize it anyway if necessary either by obtaining a warrant or if it’s believed to be prevention / preservation of life and death.

I thought so too....but it can suddenly get lost...erraised.

Can you not do an IMO post? I’m intrigued.

The police have seen that footage- think it was someone being a troll on SM started a rumour.

Yes that’s always a possibility however there are two issues that spring to mind. Firstly, if it was then I would be looking to arrest the landlord to interview him as that would be deemed highly suspicious and secondly, the technology provision and recovery of deleted material in this day and age is very much more progressive and often nowadays, there are questions around ‘ is all data ever really deleted to the point of being non recoverable?’ and in some situations, the answer to that question is No. it’s a long and laborious exercise but often it can still be done.

Really? the trolls again.....how horrible.....

Hahaha, no as much as would like to I'm not going to. It's against the facts, what we know.

He had been with a group of friends at The Lamb pub in Fisher Street, but for unknown reasons he left the premises alone at about 19:16 GMT.

The image shows him walking up Market Street - towards the pub - at 19:41, 20 minutes after his phone was turned off.

CCTV image of missing firefighter released

I don't see how Market Street is "towards the pub".

Also the wording of this suggests, imo, his friends were still in the pub - just to settle any early queries about whether they had all left before he became separated from the group.

I would interpreted that as he was walking on the street facing the direction of the Lamb pub....not going towards the pub.

Did any of his friends or colleagues say if Anthony had told any of them where he was going when he left the pub? Could he have been going to meet someone hence the phone getting switched off? Is it possible for the police to access last calls made or received or messages from a phone that they don’t have/switched off?

I also think "towards the pub" is a strange description in this instance

“Towards the pub” or “back towards the pub” almost sounds as if someone has said that he left to go and do something or meet someone and he was going to be coming back to the pub.

So "towards the pub" refers to the Lamb? He left the Lamb at 7.16, turned off his phone 5 min later, went somewhere and then turned around, walking back in the direction of the Lamb? Is that correct?

Why? o_O
