GUILTY UK - Arthur Labinjo Hughes, 6, killed, dad & friend arrested, June 2020 #3

It's to make them behave in prison. You can't add to an existing sentence, given after a fair trial, for prison misbehaviour, but you can tell them they can't get time off their sentence if they misbehave.
Plus, people aren’t just let out after 2/3 of the sentence and left to go about their business. They are released on licence and can be recalled to prison at any point to serve out the rest of the term.

So is all the court stuff over now and ET and TH are on way to jail?

Everything we say or not say can't bring this little boy back to life. I cried a lot of tears today for him...just looking at the CCTV footage and I'm kind of hardened, but OMG....I have no words for this....why wasn't this noticed...this sweet, poor little fellow.....HOW!!!!

Also, people lives don’t just turn great when out of prison, often you hear that they miss it. They find it hard to adjust to the real world, things change massively since they were imprisoned and they struggle to find employment. I really feel that justice has prevailed. They are no longer free to make any one else’s life a misery and their lives as they knew it are over. Prison is not going to be a walk in the park for either of them, the well documented crimes they have committed will mean their inmates (and possibly officers although they can’t ever admit to it) will make sure that they are in fear daily.

I wonder did TH shed a tear in court when Olivias statement was read out. He is made of stone if not

This is very reassuring to hear, thank you

There are still two other children "at stake". Her children.....don't know their ages....but oh man.....their life is destroyed too. What will become of them....?

I am really disappointed in the family for this comment. I was ragged on for believing that the family had a need to believe it was all ET's fault, and here is the proof. It suggests they are trying to shift blame to ET by ignoring TH's culpability. They have not addressed their evil son/brother at all.

Arthur would also be alive if many things hadn't happened, namely lockdown. But With TH's lack of empathy and love for his son, there would have always been the latent risk that he would do something terrible to Arthur. The gun was already loaded, in the form of Thomas Hughes' lack of parental love and responsibility, lack of capability as a father, inadequacy as a man, resulting false pride, and man-child tendencies. It only took the stress of being forced into full-time fatherhood, combined with a relationship with a woman who hated his son, in order to pull the trigger.

I will believe for now and for evermore that TH was the worse abuser, up until the day before he died.

I'm completely in agreement, that statement was abhorrent and disgusting. She did not mention Hughes once and infact blamed the authorities before her son. The Authorities had a role but in no way did they kill your grandson. Your SON DID!!

I have no doubt in my mind there testimonies got TH off murder and in my opinion while harsh disrespected Arthur's memory.

But I can understand why families try to find justification in these kind of events.

I assume the family always found excuses for TH thats why he lived in his parents garage at 29

Her children are around Arthurs age, as per something said by TH.
As far as I can tell those two are with their father.

Even the judge alluded to the statement in his sentencing remarks.

He then said he’d seen no evidence of remorse from either of them.

I agree, they were instrumental in supporting TH’s nonsense about being a good dad who was “gaslighted” by ET. I suspect that there were red flags at home before he moved out, that they have glossed over.

TH is lucky that, unlike ET, he had a nice family who could support him in court and look good to the jury.

“Ms Hughes: "I have also listened to barbed comments by a witness that the death of Arthur did not affect him, which is sickening and abhorrent”
Could someone please clarify who made that comment and who was it in reference to?
Apologies if it's obvious- I'm clearly missing something here
Thanks.

There are loads of pics on daily mail of Arthur and his Mum in happier times. Lovely to see him smiling and looking happy and cared for

Arthur is not related to Tustins children. He would be at best a step brother, but Hughes and Tustin weren’t married, so she shouldn’t be called ‘step mum’.

I’ve pulled these from the daily Mail article, because it’s nice to see both OLH and Arthur looking happy
Edit to add: there were a couple more I missed
