I cannot get my head around this either? It’s like a pack mentality but against a child? The only thing these two seemed to bond over was how awful Arthur was and how they were going to punish him. It seems like their entire relationship was purely derived from taking pleasure from torturing that child - psychologically, emotionally, verbally and physically.
Yes it’s hard to wrap ones head around. It’s actually what happens in narcissistic households. The narcissist (Emma) runs the show and chooses someone to take all the blame. The rest of the family is afraid of the narcissist so they go along with whatever they want. It’s a special kind of hell for the scape goat. In this particular family, it resulted in murder.

Yeah I’m from the US and was surprised I couldn’t find anything live of the trial.

i don’t think it is borderline, as people with borderline are capable of possessing empathy and compassion. They can act cruel when triggered, but they feel remorseful afterwards. Whatever Emma has must be something that lacks all empathy, such as narcissistic personality disorder or antisocial personality disorder.
Thanks for correcting me, I think I got mixed up with borderline and anti social, and a bit of narcissist aswell. No offence to anyone intended ! I hope the UK becomes like the US one day and televises trials.

TH didn't have luck with women.
Both his love interests turned out to be murderers!
He seems to be attracted to these types of women for sure. I think he's the submissive type who doesn't mind his woman wearing the trousers.

How much longer do you think Tustin will be on the stand? Please and thank you :D

13:12
Tustin: "No I just thought that was naughty behaviour at that point. Crying out for attention."

15:05
Mr Hankin asks what the 'purpose and objective' of the forced standing was.

Tustin: "There wasn't a purpose. When he was there we didn't have to do anything for him. The whole day was so hectic and mad when he was in the hallway, it was like he wasn't being paid attention to, like he was invisible, like he wasn't there."
I would suggest attention seeking was a massive trigger for her. She wanted all the attention. Yet it became a new focus of attention, having to maintain the rules.

I think If she had her way, she’d be up on her soapbox playing the victim forever…

Sorry, I have no clue. I hope for not much longer.

Oh no offense taken! All those disorders are similar. I know I’m still trying to figure Hughes out. He seems to be a weak, cowardly man which is probably why Emma chose him. Sometimes I do wonder if he is a narcissist too, however, because some of the stuff he did to his son was just so brutally cruel.

As if Arthur’s living conditions weren’t bad enough, did anyone realise he was sleeping on a “cold concrete floor with no underlay”. I presumed (very wrongly) that he was sleeping on a carpeted floor, which was appalling in itself. But this? Jesus Christ…
i wonder why there was no carpet? either it's true that Arthur tore it up or she deliberately tore it up so he would sleep on a hard surface. Also that's what caused his death, I believe he tried to escape out the front door in fear of his own life and she grabbed him and threw him head first down into the concrete floor

I didn’t even think of that. She did say he ripped up the carpet, although I doubt that’s true. Wouldn’t be surprised if she took the carpet or rug up just to make him as uncomfortable as possible. It’s like she couldn’t stand to see him not suffering even for a moment.

I find it difficult to believe that a 6 year old could rip an entire carpet up. I had to rip up mine in preparation for new flooring to be laid and it was not an easy feat. Can I see him possibly pulling at stray threads, yes. I’m more inclined to believe that she has ripped it up. Or, she never had carpet to begin with.

It's just so horrible, how dare she ! She will be right where she belongs soon enough, let's hope for her sake she doesn't bump into Arthur's mother on the inside...

They are similar and I know what you mean, I'm trying to work out who is the worst out of the both of them. She was definitely the instigator but is he worse because he's Arthur's dad and should never have treated his son so terribly, let alone let anyone else ?

As terrible as his biological mother sounds, I actually feel a little sorry for her. If I was in prison watching this whole thing transpire, I would go mad. I’d want to get my hands on that Emma monster. The bio mom was probably looking forward to one day being reunited with her son. She tried to see him even after going to prison, and then this happens.

I know. I’m trying to work that out too. Who is more to blame. Probably Tustin, but still, how dare he do this to his child? In some ways it’s his fault...

I agree, and I imagine she feels a degree of guilt for not being there to protect him. It's a sad situation all around. ET's children will now also be without a mom, even though they are alive at least and there's possibly a chance of them being together in the future.

Don't rack your brain!
They both deserve each other!
You know, they may even get married in prison - American style.
Nothing would surprise me with these two.

Very true!

Did I read that right? Did she seriously say under oath, in front of a jury, with her chest, that she blames a 6 year old for his own death?? A 6 year old that was under her care?? I’m not even going to attempt to unravel the many layers of messed up that is, but I’m glad the prosecution is making her trip all over her own lies, her defence attorney must be praying for it to end
