"The Brianna Ghey case should prompt parents to 'sharpen up' their internet awareness and police what their children are viewing online,
the detective who oversaw the investigation into her teenage killers has said.
Det Ch Supt Mike Evans,
head of crime at Cheshire police,
said reading through their messages made him wonder:
'How do you know what your kids are doing when they are sat with the door shut in their bedrooms?'
He added:
'I can only reflect on myself as a parent, thinking, actually, how internet aware am I?
And do I know what my kids are looking at – inadvertently or advertently?
I think we could all use this as an opportunity to sharpen up'.

'But I don’t for one minute think we’ve got kids across Merseyside and Cheshire sat there Googling how to kill people.
We’ve got to keep this in the context of what it is, which is horrendous.

when X told Y that she had poisoned Brianna with an overdose of red ibuprofen tablets."

Her murderers, known as Girl X and Boy Y , will have their identities revealed on February, February 2 at Manchester Crown Court when they are sentenced for their crimes.
Members of Brianna's family are expected to give statements in court on Friday,
Brianna's mum, Esther Ghey, spoke out ahead of the sentencing....
"I don’t know whether justice will ever be done for Brianna. It would be nice to have her back home. That would be justice for me but obviously, that isn’t going to happen."
"The fact that they both pointed the finger at each other shows that they are cowards really and it shows the character of each of them. Maybe if they had admitted or shown a little remorse, I may have felt some sympathy for them.”

According to BBC, Brianna's mum and dad are now both in court, and the judge has arrived.

The pair, both 15 at the time Brianna was murdered, are now aged 16.
The judge, Mrs Justice Yip, previously said she would lift reporting restrictions which had been imposed due to their age, but only on the day they were sentenced.
In court, she just indicated that the restrictions have now been lifted, allowing their identities to be revealed for the first time.

Prosecutor addresses judge
Prosecutor Deanna Heer KC is now addressing the judge. She says that Jenkinson confessed to stabbing Brianna during the incident in the park, during an interview with mental health professions following the trial.

After the trial judge allowed the media to name the 'warped' pair, it can now be revealed for the first time that Jenkinson met their 'trusting' victim when she was moved to the 'inclusion unit' for troubled children which Brianna attended.
The decision to place them together – which came after Jenkinson was excluded from her school for passing drugs to fellow pupils, leaving one in hospital – happened just weeks before Brianna's murder.
