UK - Car drives into pedestrians at Liverpool FC victory parade. Man detained, 26 May 2025

I feel sure he has had angry/violent outbursts at times over the years but that the person on the receiving end of them has not reported them. ☹️

Notice he stopped snivelling when the judge was sentencing him.
He knew it was all pointless.
I don’t think he got long enough to be perfectly honest as the indictment was specifically designed not to be overwhelming for a jury trial, Literally hundreds were injured that day.
Does 14 years really represent justice here ? I’m not sure.

It's only 14yrs if he's a good boy, right? With a temper like that, he won't keep that in check. Surely he will be doing the full stretch

I think he’ll end up dead, whether it’s his doing or others.

I think he will keep his head down as he will want out.
He’s a coward - good luck to him if they don’t send him back down south to Belmarsh.

I'd be interested to hear about his childhood. That is so often the key to aggressive behaviour.

He’s a mad man.
You are not telling me he’s kept that temper in check for the last 30 years either.

Perhaps his wife or children may have something to say at some point.

I still can't believe there were no fatalities. And no one left in a vegetative state or survived but now living life as a paraplegic, for example.

What speed did he reach, do we know?
It was said on tv news report several people were trapped under the vehicle so agree absolutely amazing no fatalities. Disgusting behaviour
IMO

Yes, that is amazing! There was also a baby, Teddy Eveson, in a pram - the pram was thrown up into the air with little Teddy in it but he was uninjured. Amazing! Thank heavens for him and his family. Unfortunately the woman pushing the pram (baby's mother?? - report doesn't say) was badly injured on her thigh.
From this BBC article: Timeline: Paul Doyle's journey to causing Liverpool parade horror

In the same article, PD is filmed just after the police have got him down - it's as if PD is talking to himself, muttering that he's just ruined so many people's lives, and shaking his head. I didn't hear any rage in his voice. It strikes me as weird how fast he's come back down from his rage. MOO

Of course I believe he's guilty! No question. My mother got rage attacks, tho fortunately she never went that crazy or that violent to so many people, but it would take her a while to come down and she wouldn't express anything like "I've ruined all these people's lives", it would be more she was justifying how it was their own fault anyway. That's what I would have expected here too, but I suppose just because that's what I know.

Man who stopped Paul Doyle says he 'isn't a hero'

"The man charged with leading the investigation into the Water Street attack, Det Ch Insp John Fitzgerald" thinks he is a hero though!
I think he was certainly incredibly brave! Imagine climbing into a car driven by an enraged, mad man like PD. Daniel Barr's actions will have saved more people being injured and/or possible deaths.

It also sounds to me as if DB may now have PTSD from the incident, but he does say he is now getting professional help. I sincerely hope he can come out the other side. Such a brave man!

Yes I saw him being interviewed yesterday. He said he was struggling but getting help - poor guy, I do hope an organisation steps in here to help him properly, he possibly saved so many lives.
He was a REAL soldier having done a few tours of duty in Afghanistan.

It really annoys me when the MSM called Doyle “ military “
He saw no active service - they couldn’t wait to get rid of him.
