My heart jumped when I saw this on the York Press home page just now :eek::eek: But it’s a different case
I wonder whereabouts on Huntington Road he was killed?

I would guess that, whoever the perp is, they're still a fair way from real old age, but they may have a fatal accident and then someone will feel free to maybe at least say where she is.

I also wouldn't underestimate the role religion plays in peoples lives as they get older....especially if they find they have a critical illness...what have they got to lose if they're going to die or spend their lives in care anyway.....as we discussed earlier, the perp may turn to a priest, someone who was only indirectly involved may tell the police,.

and there have been lots of cases where people have talked in their sleep....and through ill health or old age people ramble.

or someone might talk to someone else in. prison

its frustrating to think we may have to wait a long time and may never know, but one small comment or guilty conscience can sometimes trigger a solution....heres hoping anyway

Today’s murder charge for a 2007 crime gives us some hope that NYP can solve cold cases. This must have been a very different kind of investigation (they had a body at least), but it shows that the police will keep trying to nail the perps. Hopefully it’s just a matter of time in CL’s case. Woman in court on murder charge They know who’s responsible but need the extra evidence, as listed in earlier posts.

I don’t think they know.

My hope is, that the cases maybe connected somehow and - abracadabra! - Claudia's case can be solved. :)

I dont know if the police know, but I think they know one or more people who do know.

a hope would be that someone would at least give a credible anonymous tip as to where claudia is, so she can at least be laid to rest according to her family wishes and they can begin to grieve.

I dont know what it would take to make the police take such a tip seriously....am I right in thinking that they wanted to dig up a traffic island but were denied permission because of a lack of evidence.

If Claudia has been murdered the police will contiue to seek the person responsible and bring them to justice this is why the case remains open

But given the the enduring pain her family have suffered over 11 long years and their advancing ages of her parents I would like to see the family launch a 'Bring Claudia Home' campaign which focuses just on bringing her home so they can lay her to rest.

In my opinion they just want names!

That is a great idea ...Bring Claudia Home !

I think its true they just want a name, but you dont know what evidence they might find with her....of course, for example, if her phone is buried with her, fear of the perp might be what is putting people off giving a tip as to where she is.

I have friends who have the opposite problem....their father was murdered, they have a body, but they dont know why he was killed....its been speculated it was an attempted break in, but there are a few strange circumstances....they want to find out before their mother dies.

appeals were made a few years ago, but nothing useful was found.

both situations are horrible, but id rather be in their position than Claudius families

It is most likely imo that only just the one person knows where she is.

I dont know if I mean this to be a question or a comment or information about sniffer dogs, but ill just post it and see what you think.

there was a case in the states about a teenager who was murdered..the case has now been solved...in a coastal city.

someone had seen her getting on a bus, but no one at that point knew where she had left the bus or where she had gone to.

the dogs followed her scent to the beach bus stop but then couldn't follow her scent any further.

it later emerged that at the beach stop she had taken another bus only a few minutes later....so she wouldn't have had time to go into the water...or maybe just dip her toes in.

I assume the sniffer dogs in Claudius case followed her scent from her house.........I personally dont think she was dumped in the river, but, obviously, thats only my opinion

sorry...computer playing up.
if you could humour me and assume she wasn't put into the river, was she put into another vehicle, or had she driven there willingly with someone and they simply drove away again.
why are we assuming that her remains are in her local area...im not saying we should assume they are further away, but if the perp was local , there's still a good chance they knew of a handy location out of the immediate vicinity

I think, we have known builders in every form and construction sites and cement pouring near Claudia's home/job - and there we stayed for a long time: Heworth surroundings ... :)

The dogs followed her to the river then perhaps on to a boat ?

yes, fg, and I think its still the most likely solution.....and we can't really think about every area of the country....im just saying we shouldn't rule out connections elsewhere, if we come across them.

again, im not saying it was one of the big drugs guys, but there's a chance of involvement and they will have their own helpers

ive thought. about. a boat, popejohn.....have you already covered. sightings of boats...if so ill search it out....before you even think about it, dont tell me you have, just for the fun of imagining me scrolling back in despair.....as if......;)
