Yes answers are always needed. To find her if possible, even better imo.Hope the cold case team really want this solved x
I’m sure the cold case team want to solve this case although their hands might be somewhat tied up because of the official secrets acts IMO and here I’m referring to surveillance techniques...Guantanamo Bay comes to mind.

sometimes I find the reasoning by the police so thin as to be almost insulting....but I suspect thats because they're withholding information.

for example, they say that alley man is a local because he seems to know the streets....he may just be someone who has stayed with claudia or someone in that area a few times before.

I dont know whether hes a local or not, but I dont think the logic holds up from the cctv weve seen
Hi, this is my first post ever on web sleuths. There’s lots of evidence to suggest he’s local, however to think that you must be able to link him walking up and down the alley with other pieces of the jigsaw

Claudia Lawrence New. I have read through most of the previous posts and reply’s on this case. “Drugs and Rogues” seem to be an undercurrent and it’s easy to go off on a tangent looking at “the bigger picture” just to evaluate the potential of drugs and rogues being in the mix as part of Claudius disappearance. Has any of the nags four or any other person arrested ever been arrested with any other illegal activity? Surely if it’s as rife, men with guns and balaclavas then there surely has been police activity in and around Heworth? No? Guess why - because Claudius disappearance is simple. No drugs, no rogues, no flying saucers orlittle green men - what happened is a local man , that socialised within Claudius group, that had a keen interest in Claudia killed her on the way to work on the morning of the 19th March 2009, after spending the night with her, he returned to Claudius house and cleaned up the house and removed any incriminating dna and or other evidence. He then at 12.10pm turned her phone off. This is my opinion.

When I studied the photos of Claudia's house I started thinking about some of the pictures and whether they were as police found things or did police show photos to either get people asking questions / Perps worried?

I will name a few photos here:

Could the ultra violet light from the sunbed be seen by Alley man as she was due to holiday at Easter?

The Mop and Bucket left out from the broom cupboard in the kitchen next to back door-Was this a clean up

The hair dye and sanitary item displayed by police on her toilet seat-What else could hair dye / peroxide type bleach be used for other then hair?? / Why display a sanitary item??

The strange circular marks on the kitchen pine door-They were not Knots in the wood. Had these marks been created by being bleached?

The large footprints on her "dusted" weighing scales in bathroom with Builder boot type treads-Hardly CLs trainers or boot marks-But if Alleyman had been wearing an oversized pair of Boots (E.G. Was he a she?) Would this cause them to have the claimed Limp?

The fireplace in her living room with ash in the hearth-Had something been burnt?

The cardboard boxes in living room-Had she taken delivery of something after bin day only a day or two before?

Her clothes rummaged through-Was someone looking for something?

Lots of questions sorry but Im only asking questions where I see things that all can see. MSM article attached here:

Eight years after the disappearance of Claudia Lawrence her mum reveals her agony upon return to missing chef's broken home

What do others see?
The article was written and the photos taken 8 years after her disappearance. Based on this, my comments as follws:
Ultra violet light and alley man - I seem to recall that the first sighting of alley man was early evening before Claudia spoke to her mother and the next sighting was early next morning . I doubt that CL would have been using the sunbed in the morning, but early evening before settling down to watch TV is a possibility.
Mop and Bucket - I dare say that someone has cleaned the house during those 8 years;
The Fireplace - I am presuming this is an open fire and the 'ash' is from the chimney - we get the same usually after a peiod of heavy rain. And again pic taken 8 years after her disappearance.
Clothes rummaged - this looks like a normal girls wardrobe space to be honest.
Cardboard boxes - again pic taken 8 years after disappearance, perhaps her father had a sort out of belongings?
Weighing scales - I think this is fingerprint dust and not household dust. Any women worth their salt would not let the weighing scales get dusty.
which item do you think is a sanitary item? I thought it was the packet for the plastic gloves that come with the hair dye?
Hair dye and bleach - No ideas for an alternative use, but bleach on its own would be good to remove any stain. IMO the hair dye is a red herring - if hair was coloured it would have been at the weekend not during the week.
and lastly, the door - I cannot locate the pic you are referring to, are you able to post please?

The realms of covert operations maybe but not fantasy Im afraid.

Would you hesitate in recognising your daughter from the footage at Melrosegate Post Office?

Its my opinion that CL was being protected and the people seen around her at the Uni can be seen elsewhere in other footage for this purpose, the date of the 18th is in my opinion a critical date.

Imo
Dyor
BBM - No hesitation from me, but I am a mother not a father. Protected by whom and for what purpose? What people at the uni?

Where does it report that it kept breaking down PJ?
I am sure it was complete mechanical failure. There is a tow hook on the front of the car. If the car was in working order, it could have been driven onto a transporter.

And what about her bag and contents :did he leave these things with her or dumped them somewhere else or even still kept them as souvenirs ?

@Popejohn3 Do you mean interrogation rather than surveillance techniques?

@Nikynoo Thank you for your very helpful answers. I have commented as follows:
The article was written and the photos taken 8 years after her disappearance. Based on this, my comments as follws:
Ultra violet light and alley man - I seem to recall that the first sighting of alley man was early evening before Claudia spoke to her mother and the next sighting was early next morning . Yes I was refering to evening only-Could it have been left on though??
Mop and Bucket - I dare say that someone has cleaned the house during those 8 years;
Clauidas Mum complained re the state she found the house in and so neither of us can speculate I agree.

The Fireplace - I am presuming this is an open fire and the 'ash' is from the chimney - we get the same usually after a peiod of heavy rain. And again pic taken 8 years after her disappearance_
I believe that you are correct here.
Clothes rummaged - this looks like a normal girls wardrobe space to be honest.
Possibly
Cardboard boxes - again pic taken 8 years after disappearance, perhaps her father had a sort out of belongings?
Agree, but we shouldn't dismiss.
Weighing scales - I think this is fingerprint dust and not household dust. Any women worth their salt would not let the weighing scales get dusty.

I agree and I was referring to a footprint of a large tread boot that was unlikely to be Claudias.
which item do you think is a sanitary item? I thought it was the packet for the plastic gloves that come with the hair dye?
It is difficult to illustrate but one of packets has a familiar sanitary branding on it. This picture I felt was a deliberate sharing by police for a purpose.
Hair dye and bleach - No ideas for an alternative use, but bleach on its own would be good to remove any stain. IMO the hair dye is a red herring - if hair was coloured it would have been at the weekend not during the week.
Could hair Dye be used as a "paint" to cover over marks on the kitchen Pine style door that I refer to with marks?
and lastly, the door - I cannot locate the pic you are referring to, are you able to post please?

The kitchen door is in the collection of 19 photos in the press article that you have hyperlinked in your reply @Nikynoo

@Nikynoo It was an engine failure and a new engine was required. There was mention of her car breaking down regularly before this.
The fact that Claudia had decided to opt for a new engine on an old car, when economically she could have opted for purchasing a different car may have suggested that she was fond of the car or perhaps one of her associates / friends at Nags had advised her on what was the best option?

I found during my readings on the case that Claudia was a pretty independent lady and whilst her Dad could have or would have helped her in this area, I believe that she was dealing with this matter herself.

Hello, this is my first post here, I have been reading these threads for months now with great interest and I've finally caught up. I lived on E Parade as a student in 2014-15 (when the four arrests happened) and I stayed in the Heworth area for a little over a year after that before moving away from York. I've always been fascinated by this case and even more so now that I've lived in the area.

The 'buried in the foundations of the uni' theory seems to be a big one among locals, I'm not sure I buy that one though. I'm not sure what my solid thoughts and theories are as there's so many on here that could make sense but like many of you I definitely feel like those close to her know more than they're letting on.

But what if he is not local but what if he did not spend that night with her ?
And do you think the Allyman is the man you are referring too ?

As well as limes court 24 hour cctv and 24 hr security staff! I believe the uni also has 24hr cctv and presume any shifty behaviour on grounds would have been picked up. The uni and lake on it was searched very quickly after Clauds disappearance, So I also don’t buy the uni/cement/buried either x
