That is not quite true is it ?
D.O told them about new boyfriend .
Dan told them about new boyfriend.

Any one else ?
They could be two different boyfriends or DO is telling fibs.

1. Claims to be a colleague/friend but waits a year to tell police about supposed secret boyfriend
2. Claims to have taken a different route that particular morning for no apparent reason
3. Claims to have given CL lifts before (but see 2 above)
4. Motive - possibly rejection?
As far as I now this colleague was never a boyfriend therefore rejection does not come into it imo

So it says “The last time I heard from her was in October when she sent a text to tell me she had a new boyfriend,' he says. But who that 'boyfriend' is nobody appears to know.”

as in October 2008? So six months earlier? Would you still describe a boyfriend as new six months later to Red Car Man?
Two possibilities here. CL was fibbing to Dan and made up the new boyfriend or there are two different boyfriends (bearing in mind the 5 month time span).

Actually PJ this article clears up the issue about lifestyle on a chefs wage. Thanks!
Per Galloway in the above article:
"He added there was no evidence she had any secondary source of income at all and that she supported her lifestyle by frugal living."

This to me, indicates that they went through CLs finances quite thoroughly.

Or the policeman interviewing him was not paying attention... over 100 police officers in first few weeks was it possible the left hand did not know what the right was doing ?
Her friend coming out with possibly investigation rather weighted ?

What if he wanted to be a 'boyfriend'?

just looking at limes saved to find the information on 24hr cctv and security x
this was in 2016 though, would they have had 24 hr security when CL went missing?

But PJ - he didn't go to the police until a year after she went missing.

The police interviewed him several times during the first year

I'm not saying that he is responsible, I am trying to explain why he is top of my list. I didn't realise he had been interviewed several times, but still, neglected to tell the police this little tit bit until a year later. Odd.

I think it’s highly likely that the new boyfriend line is a way of keeping a conversation as friends or managing a mans expectations. I wonder about Oxo - if he was told by Claudia about an all-nighter with a new boyfriend - it could be true, it could of been said to manage Oxos advances or it could of been compltely fabricated by oxo a year down the line

I think you are being naive to suggest rejection doesn’t come in to it - when you watch Oxo in the interview missing or murdered - it’s obvious to me he has at the very least a soft spot for her

I don’t blame him ! She was an attractive woman met her for approximately 10 minutes and I took a shine to her .. he worked with her.

It would be interesting to find out who gave her a lift on the morning of the 18th or when oxo last gave her a lift

You’d keep trying surly not kill her imo
depends does'nt it tell that to Vincent Tabak. If a man came onto her perhaps even tried to rape her in a car, a work mate - loss of job, marriage flashing before him

Please don’t exaggerate nov Dec jan feb half March is not six months
depends when in October - even if youve been going out with someone for a couple of months I wouldnt think of them as new

ok, so the police case seems to be centred around those arrested and with the police holding most of the information that could of been gathered at the time of her disappearance, it could lead you to believe thjat they are looking in the right direction. this of course creates a bias - tending to favour an outcome involving those arrested (especially the four). the alleyway man\men has for a long time taken my interest - "curious behaviour" the focus that arrives at 5.42am on the 19th - it fits the time of her being taken to work - however how could she know she was getting a lift and to wait? as when speaking to her parents the evening before she was walking!

I have looked at Alleyway man - the favoured suspect and I can place him in the frame, to a great degree, he lives in the right place, he works in the right place, he has the physical ability to over power someone of claudias statue, he fits the profile of an organised killer, his work involving detail could mean that in crime he's a detailed killer and has a full grasp of DNA evidence. In fact when it comes to dna hes a leading authority. Throughout looking at this case I have had moments, pieces of evidence have slipped together like pieces of a puzzle. The problem is with this case is I am finding myself working on a few different puzzles and only one holds the key to who killed Claudia.

My biggest issue with any of the four, either of the pub landlords, and many of the ones arrested from frequenting the nags head is this - why would any of them kill her she was a much loved, valued friend and secondly and the biggest problem that I cannot get over is why would they all lie to cover it up? two people lying and getting their stories right is one thing, I know Heworth is a close knit community, however the thought of them all lying and being able to evade detection by the police under the investigation process seems impossible to believe.

So just for a minute lets just look at this a fresh way.
Lets imagine that all those arrested, her friends and family are telling the truth. They had nothing to do with her disappearance and the tears you see are real tears, the anger that they feel towards the constant intrusion and accusations is just a natural reaction. that the alleyway man is in fact cartwright that died a few weeks later.so we should now be in a restful state - all those annoying questions answered, none of the cars out front had anything to do with her disappearance, even the ford focus that arrived at 5.42am on the 19th had nothing to do with her.

So now what? Well, on the morning of the 19th a witness said they saw a couple arguing near the university at approx. 6.10am if this was Claudia she would now be late for work, a rucksack was sighted there matching her rucksacks description, another interesting feature of this sighting was a car with the passenger door flung open belonging to a maroon car - could this be a red car that looked maroon in the low or street lighting? who has a car matching this description that the police have interviewed perhaps not amongst the Heworth circle? Another interesting point which i picked up whilst trawling through the media and websleuths previous posts is that analysis alledgedly shows that her phone whilst in remained in the morning in the local area was switched off in the Acomb area. Does this mean its in Acomb or could it in fact be North East of Acomb? Lastly im rather curious about her work colleague, the one who will remain nameless however that day he decided to take a different route to work, is it possible that if claudia did walk their paths may of crossed at some point? can his journey and route be verified? what time did he get to work that day? what time did he leave? his own phone data can that be verified? id like the police to say categorically we have looked at this POI and without a doubt he's innocent. I feel its weird that she tells a work colleague about a new boyfriend but she doesn't tell anyone else, not Jen, not Suzy, Not her Mum or Dad ??? with this unknown entity in the mix it draws attention away . Can the police verify her movements on the night of the 17th March?
I have looked for the programme where this work colleague appeared cant find it as Id like to look at it again. I remember thinking - what curious behaviour.
When Mayln said he suspects people were lying then immediately qualifies ‘or being economical with the truth’
Some have ignored the last bit .Hiding things from the Mrs is not the same as murder .Perhaps the police did not make it clear that they were only interested in who harmed Claudia.
Would all police involved earlier on be solely murder police ? For example would there have been vice squad officers hoping for clues or drug squad or immigration or any other branch hoping to advance on their speciality and by doing so making the witnesses clam up ?!
