I have found the ‘edit’ button to be very useful and it seems it remains ‘active’ for one hour which gives me enough time to check my posts and correct if need be.
Having said that I still find mistakes in my own posts days later oops !

Hi @MEKON There were 2 sightings of a couple(s) that morning:
One on Melrosegate Bridge by the sub station-They were described as chatting, not arguing. There was no mention of a car here (I know you haven't suggested a car).

One on university Road at 06:10-They were with the Maroon car with a door flung open and they were on the grass verge on other side of the road.

From the Crimewatch reconstruction it was the passenger door that was thrown open as if a passenger had got out and crossed the road to the area that Claudia would normally cut through to work (Through Uni Grounds).

This suggests that the driver had stopped. An argument during the journey is suggested by the passenger door being eft open in a rage and the driver had followed the passenger and the argument continued.

The car was maroon in colour and could very well be the same car that was often parked in Heworth Place (Maroon Volvo with roof bars)

Man and woman seen arguing outside University of York

The ownership of this vehicle exchanged hands between one of 4 POI's arrested DER. and a recent boyfriend of Claudias who she dated and his marriage split up LH.
He was the joint owner with his brother (Who dies in 2018( of a scrapyard near to Heworth Road if you recall.
The Scrapyard was inherited from parents, the father had died sometime ago and the mother more recently.

LH and Bro were trying to sell the land to the Pavlou Brothers the owners of a York city nightclub as they wanted to build a casino with developers.
Local council blocked the building of the casino and in 2018 /19 the scrapyard land was sold to a property developer to build student accom on the site.

LH brother died on holiday. I have seen it reported in this thread that he owed money to an expat from York who now lives in Thailand and in an exchange the brother had apologised for being late with a payment, which would come from the sale of the land and so not an insignificant amount of money.

This is all based upon my research and reading of all the WS threads and so if anyone would like details of this, which I cannot publish all of on here, they could do thier own research.

Could there be a possibility that vulnerable and suitable people have been targetted in a 'bribing racketts'.

Other than the obvious potential losers and gainers in a bribery racket. Would there be less obvious people losing and gaining in the chain of bribery?

Furthermore; how was the briber picking out victims and obtaining evidence to use as leverage. Additionally; could someone be prompting the briber with hints on what to look for. If that is so; what professions would be involved with businesses in order to possess such sensitive Information

If bribery has been mixed with a one-sided relationship where the genuine lover has been betrayed; this could be a very toxic mix

This could be an even more toxic mix if several people on the sphere of the local scene had also been bribed; and then all of a sudden realised each other had all been 'had' in a similar manner during the past

A poor answer? We are all entitled to voice our own opinions. Would like to ask if you are in the Police as I noticed you referred to OUR team at NYP,
and" poor answer" is my opinion @curiosity2 - next you will be picking me up for talking "past tense"

If it was my child who had disappeared I would have remortgaged or even sold my house to raise funds to be able to offer a substantial reward
Very good point I'd do the same sell house too go towards search to find CL.

I think the rucksack is missing simply because CL had it with her when she went missing, really is that straightforward. Which would then suggest that CL left the house of her own volition at some point between talking to her mother on the evening of the 18th and her usual time of setting off for work on the 19th.
Is everyone in agreement that CL must have left by the back door as she is not seen leaving the house by the front door on the neighbours CCTV?

That's what I believe happened

Maybe CL left by the back door in an attempt to avoid DO, unaware that DO was also attempting to avoid her by taking a different route to work on the 19th? (According to DO).

As for the now whereabouts of the rucksack, my best bet is that it and it's contents were probably destroyed, possibly by burning, though the hair straighteners would be a problem to dispose of, maybe thrown in the river?

No you can’t be sure that some kind of vehicle did not block the camera’s view .
The camera as I understand was directed at the front garden and doubt if it even showed Claudia’s green front door !

Yes! Could well have been the case. Iirc the footage from CCTV was the lower part of front of CL house. Didn't cover the whole of the house so even a passing car could obscure her leaving.

You’re talking about a few yards out of a two mile journey !

She may not of been at home when her mum called her. And they alleyway msn may be the boyfriend collecting her rucksack for work the next morning.

Oudzuid also referred to Claudia possibly using the back alleyway and up the stairs of the fire exit but someone surely wouldvhave had to let her in !
That’s how fire exits usually work ?
Not necessary fire doors can not be locked.

Thank you

I was wondering If anyone could have gained access to Claudia's car keys and used her own car to take Claudia out of the area.
It was a pretty old car wouldn't really need keys
@Thelastleg Perhaps SC was more worried about what she may be disturbing. Or did SC know that CL was likely to e elsewhere. Were there some tell tale signs emitted from CLs house that gave things away.
Were the lights on or off I wonder?
Or maybe SC was envolved

It’s asked if he was using “kidology” he wasn’t.

if you was having a night of sexercise the last think you’d be bothered about was charging your phone. Phones with basic functionality batteries lasted days - back in 2009. Come on PopeJohn think a bit more flexibly
Deffo CL won't of been no where near her phone. We don't know if the perp left CL phone on then walked cycled or drove around Acomb area just too put police of there trail.

Maybe, If I was having a romantic liason I wouldn't answer my mums phone call. And speculation about Alleyman. I thought you were trying to separate the wheat from the chaff?

Thank you for putting that scenario into context for me. Could be DO was in the habit of stopping outside to pick her up....but that would surely mean prearranged

What I am getting at is anyone can jest pluck out scenarios from their imagination - why is she at home? What makes us believe she is at home? What proof do you have confirming she is at home when her mother calls? Alleyway man could be the local pools coupon collector. No one knows who he is (for sure) in 11 years there is no concrete version of events, nothing - no one on here is any nearer than in 2009. And I can be fairly sure no one will be any nearer ten years from now - so save your time and do something else.
