@Yozzer I have just done a scale check with a Astra type vehicle width of car v Alley width.
Whist it would be tight, a car could be navigated a fair way into alley.
Perhaps by reversing so as to make it easier to access boot / hatchback and then drive out front facing.
Yes I was thinking an Astra van. If you have lived in terraced properties, you will know that residents become incredibly skilled at manoeuvring in tight spaces.

Physical size is one aspect - I would think physically it’s tight, however on top of that it’s full of brambles, broken wall, debris from people’s gardens and general rubbish - it was foot access - in 2009 and now

You cannot drive into the alley

@Blonderabbit as you visited the alleyway can I ask you in your opinion was it wide enough someone riding a bicycle, moped or motorcycle directly to the rear entrance of Claudia's property.
Also did you notice how many if any properties had rear security lights.
Was your visit conducted in daylight, darkness or both?
I know the alleyway has been improved since the investigation but when you visited what in particular were you looking at/for and what notes did you make on that particular location.

At the very least you could back a vehicle into the entrance of the alley.

Back alley I can't get a decent view of the entrance for 2009 but here one for 2012 and 2019
2019 photo its obviously bin day. But as you say it does appear that residents rubbish (bags) were left there.

I asked @Blondrabbit because he personally visited the location and he has said he is a note taker.
Have you visited the alleyway @Popejohn3?

I doubt NYP would waste their time if it wasn't viable. Less overgrowth in March.

“The activity today focuses on the alleyway with search trained officers and a dog. Officers will be conducting house-to-house enquiries in the vicinity to jog people’s memories about any vehicular access to the alleyway and how frequently this was used by neighbours or other pedestrian

@keep-it-real I wonder if the choice of day was deliberately following Bin Day in Heworth so that there was less debris and possibly it made it easier to load a large bin bag into a vehicle either in the alley or backed into the alley entrance.

Can you remind me what day was bin day?

I remember last year @Vixey bought to out attention some video footage which we reffered to as the @Vixey tapes. The location was outside the properties in Heworth Terrace. Within that video we could pick up some of the conversation content. I dont know if others picked up on part of the exchange of the male and female who exited the end terrace property and had a brief conversation with a male who was stood outside.
If that particular part of the conversation referred to footage that covered that location it may be a reason why we are not being shown footage from the Limes court cameras.

Tuesday @keep-it-real in 2009. I remember checking over a year ago. There will be additional collections for businesses / Pubs etc.
That sounds reasonable. The Express article which I posted today has photos with bins out when the alley search was conducted and NYP searched the alley on 24/2 which was a Tues.
It would keep the alley free from obstructions and less likely to encounter someone putting out/taking in their bins.

That's if it was planned of course. And assuming the bin day had not changed.
If not planned, then as previously stated by many on here, someone got very lucky.

yes I agree @keep-it-real as this would probably have shown the Alley person face on.

Thanks @keep-it-real I must have missed that as I wasn't around at the time of the Vixey Tapes. I have read every post since inception and so I will go back and re familiarise myself. Does anyone know if @Blonderabbit has provided details of what he found on their visit to Heworth Place Alley?

15 Heworth Place has been mentioned as the abode of one of POIs who also owned a building company and is today the partner of one of CL's friends. All of Nags Head crowd.
I have looked at Google images of August 2008 and it can be seen that one of his company vans is parked in this area.
In the same street is the Maroon Volvo that belonged at the time to LH who was CL's boyfriend at that time.
I understand that the owner of 15 Heworth Place no longer lives at this address but probably did in 2009.
This property backed directly onto Claudias and upon arrival of Malyn was searched. Perhaps a little late but searched anyway.

This property is covered by a very good Globe type CCTV camera. Similar to the type of camera that spotted Alley Person but not the same camera.

My point is:
Both Heworth Place and we believe that CL front of house was well covered by CCTV
Police have not shown Alleyperson walking further into Heworth Place. This suggests that they dont want to show persons face (They could have pixelated it out as they have in one shown)
It narrows the escape options for culprits down to either getting her out of house along alley to Nags car park or covering up by parking a vehicle to block (Risky)
It could mean that she wasn't at home that night but elsewhere
She could have been at 15 Heworth Place and using back doors
The fact that Police have searched certain properties and arrested for questioning who they did, suggests that they have strong evidence themselves regarding those in focus

Do we really need to look further afield because as someone said in a post last week-Police have 95% of the Jigsaw pieces and we have far fewer.

All human interaction needs micro elements taking into consideration. However; from a macro point of view; there is a very high % of victims murdered, that have been conducted by someone they know. Similarly; a high % of murders are committed by Males
