It has been checked and checked by the review team. However - what was he doing in the morning?
Front door, back door, abducted on way to work, I think the nags head and, or it's car park were involved, seems a massive coincidence to me that the live in chef and potential witness to any wrongdoings, Ray went away on a 2 week holiday to Tunisia either 1 or 2 days before claudia dissapered, and although reportedly happy in his job decided to move away from the pub and get a new job rather quickly once he returned, his not being around that close to her going missing seems somewhat dubious to me

It seems a local angle has at least some input into the incident. Planning and local knowledge

That's one way of putting it I suppose, but if she was taken from her house, which in fairness is only one of many theories knocking about, I think it has to be out of the back door through a dark alley rather than risk going out of the front and being spotted by any passer by or a local just happening to be looking out of there window, would be a massive risk at best

I think the authorities have been mislead to give the impression Claudia went out the front to work

Re Claudia's home: £180-200k could be put to lots of good uses by the family. Perhaps JL doesn't want the home to go to the wrong person?
Possibly, but PL seems far more money orientated than JL, understand he retrained as a commercial lawyer as it was far more lucrative than being a Police prosecutor

I will be the one who finds the truth: Mother of Claudia Lawrence still has hope eight years on
“I won’t sell it until I know what has happened to her, it is not mine to sell. I still have money in my desk from the sale of her car.

“I know how hard she worked to get that car, and to get her house, and to get everything in it. To have a mortgage on a chef’s pay, she worked her butt off for that.”
-.-.-

Someone here had asked about the selling of CL's car, and I didn't know also. Now we are a little bit more wise.

A chef job at the Uni one couldn't describe with "she worked her butt off", IMO - what did Claudia do except the Uni-job, what her mother knew of? (When did she have time to do an extra-job?)

“At one stage [Claudia’s father] Peter said he wanted to sell [the house] but I just had this gut feeling we might need it again and we did because we got a new team in. I fought like mad to get that new team in, and as soon as they started they went over the house. If we had sold it, that wouldn’t have happened.

You see doing shift work ( getting up at 5 am) is considered working your butt off in some circles plus she might have helped at the NH

I think she was referring to the arduous nature of working on your feet all day in a hot kitchen plus the early shifts.

I wonder if police did a sound test on how well noise travels between the house walls on either side. They built 'em to last in those days.
Also would like to know if neighbours either side of 46HR and 15HP were at home on the evening of 18/3 and morning of 19/3.

This could point as well If the act occurred within Claudia's home; that someone would have had the need to commit the incident quietly? How could have gained access to her home? And how could the act been conducted? Another question that could be asked is how clean was the house?:

  • Has someone been invited into Claudia's house because they had an excuse. For example: '' We have people off work ill so can you cover their shifts ''. This could refer to a strange text sent from her phone
  • Was someone staying in her house out of sight because their personalities clashed with other locals. Apparently; she was seen with a visitor that week, who she nervously welcomed into the house and Claudia unusually avoided the Nags Head. During the conversation that night with Claudia's Mum; If Claudia did not mention she had got X's company with her. It could suggest that Claudia kept the persons presence secret from her Mum; because her Mum did not like the person
  • Had someone with a key; let themselves in unheard. They could have done this when Claudia had gone to bed or when she was on her Sunbed. Perhaps they could of let themselves in and hid within the house until Claudia went to bed
  • Could arrangements of been made between Claudia and others earlier when she popped out; that meant people were invited to come round her house at a later time
  • Did someone knock on her front door or more likely the back door; and then use a threat to gain entry into the house

Without being too gory; if the events occurred within the house. Then surely it must have been a quiet, quick and clean criminal act. Thus: suffocation, drugging, poisoning, or strangulation with an implement or hands. Are drugs that can partially disable people ready available?. Who in the area knows of anyone selling 'the stuff' or is there any particular professionals that have easy access to such drugs

I am sure that the house seemed tidy and that it was a struggle to find any strange prints. Could 'Joe Public' have the knowledge and ability to do a good job on cleaning a house? Again; If there has been a 'clean up', you would not leave it to chance to rely on the household having all the right products and equipment. It would take coordination and planning to conduct a comprehensive 'clean up'

A woman of faith, and a self-described ‘people person’, she has drawn on the compassion shown by locals in the town of Norton, North Yorkshire, where she lives, neighbouring Malton, where she serves as a town councillor, and her home town of Darlington.

From Darlington J*hn B*rl*ns*n is coming ..... Now I wonder .....
Missing man John Burlinson may be in York

It would be Interesting if this lad had connections to the York area other than Claudia

Perhaps Claudia worked 'cash in hand' somewhere? Maybe a barperson? I'm sure it has been mentioned there was a connection with Horses (i'll credit MajorLang's work for that) . So did Claudia have a 'cash in hand' job working with Horse's

Sorry, I posted something similar before I read this. I think your suggestion is more likely

There has been no indication by police that the house was scrubbed clean. Just tidy.

I always wondered if the hair dye could be used to do some spot cleaning

@oudzuid

Peroxide gives off a powerful odour which would be noticed immediately.

If it has; surely the act was not pre-planned because you wouldn't rely on products such as those being available

Can products such as hair dye totally remove any traces of products such as Blood?

We always wondered if the Hair dye had been used to dye a wig

Did Ray go on holiday by himself ? When did he book the flight ?
I say leave Ray alone

The pattern of behaviour 2 days in a row by 'White jkt person and Dark Alley person' (who appear to be the same 2 people involved) would surely mean the claim that Ray's ability to 'dodge cameras etc' and be nightime 'Dark Alley person' is an impossibility

But then if they thought she dies her hair they may be more convinced that she had.
I believe the reason the police showed the dye was to send a message about knowing something.

I agree @MEKON. CCTV can be analysed to death but if someone things that the person is Ray then the question has to be asked-"Could it possibly be him"

Perhaps it could if someone else went to the Algarve on his behalf and managed to fool customs officers an both sides of the journey.

Yes, especially when linked with the missing hair straighteners!

Police should have been able to establish whether the hair dye had been used recently by any odours and residue in the bath/basin/drain areas. It is really difficult to completely clean all traces of hair dye in the bathroom and there would have been a recently soiled towel too.
