I’m going to play devils advocate with this post but it is what I think.

People such as JK etc don’t read these threads and if they do they won’t be bothered enough to post they have their own lives and it was 11 years ago now.

All this enhancing a speck of CCTV to show more people etc is just rubbish. It’s just lightening it’s actually laughable it could be other people. I’m afraid it’s all to conspiratory. She was seeing someone nasty who has done for her. I’m sorry to say that is the answer. It might be more interesting to believe other possibilities but it’s just inaccurate.

I agree with most of what you are saying @ArcadeFire as yes the conspiracy stuff is humorous. However I have seen evidence of JK and SC commenting on posts quite recently on other online media channels and so whilst you say JK and others wont be reading these threads or be bothered is an assumption rather than a fact.

These words have to be accurate. It says "home"

Semantics here @Blonderabbit Police are talking about the direction of her walk. As in "Claudia walks to work" Claudia walks home" it doesn't mean she gets there.

On the walk home she did have other opportunities to post the item there was a post box directly outside one of the College entrance doors a photo of this was posted in the thread some times ago. There is also this post box on Green Dykes Lane rd which she would have passed before the one at Melrosegate PO.

Perhaps Melrosegate (being a proper PO) was more reliable with guaranteed daily collections whereas the other post boxes were less trusted.

The whole debate over did she post something and what was in the letter is probably even if known going to solve the case.
What I would say is this:

Could she have put something in the postbox that wasnt for posting?
Did someone other than the PO collector have access to the postbox

I can think of many times I have carried post around for days / weeks, forgotten to post it then just remembered when I discovered it

The layout of the Uni has changed a lot since CL's disappearance there were extensive building works going on at the time.
We now know that the female seen to be walking the path away from the Uni is not Claudia and CLaudia is in fact the figure walking right to left across the screen. My question is where was she going?
It doesnt appear the most direct route she would need to take to get onto University road.

It looks like she took the same route as in the morning. Past the Biology block, down Wentworth Way towards the roundabout at U. Rd.

Could Jo offered Claudia a lift before she had got to the green dyke lane letterbox. Claudia forgetting about the letter till she got home. Reason for leaving house to go and post it?.

If it's official and on CCTV that Claudia has posted something; then wouldn't it be more beneficial to find out:

• What was posted?
• Who was it being posted to?
• Why was it being posted at that particular time?

I've 'chinwagged with my missis' about this as I often do, as it's a good idea to get ideas from both genders

If the authorities have not identified where the letter went (Energy Bill, Insurance Bill, Change of contract at work etc). Then surely the item has gone somewhere to someone that's keeping quiet for a good reason

So; has the item been posted to:

• Someone that Claudia thought she could trust for safekeeping
• The potential ringleader of a possible crime
• Or for whatever reason to one of the persons involved in the toxic mess

It may be that Claudia has been promising under threats, to return something for a while that is being used for various reasons against someone or some people. This could perhaps give weight to herself possibly being watched. Similarly, it could answer while she was avoiding people and places. Perhaps Claudia didn't want to 'cross their path' until the item had been received by the other party

However; is the item of such value, that even knowledge of the object and Information be enough to make the holder of this information an 'awkward entity'. Thus; have a person or persons removed the 'awkward entity' once they thought the item has been posted. Similarly; have a person or persons removed the 'awkward entity' once they found a copy of the item inside Claudia's house. Or has it been more sinister? Has the plan always been that Claudia will be removed after we think she has posted the item and after we meet Claudia 'face to face'? Then perhaps Claudia will reveal the: did you post the item and who to? who knows about it? have you a copy and where is it?

Yes GF mixes past and present but so does the ITN journalist. I think this would influence the way the interviewee responded. Plus, as discussed on here a few weeks ago, this interview took place in June when it could easily be surmised that CL was deceased.
I don't discount that GF may have worked out what happened though.

For me that is a quicker way of saying 'a letter or package'. Others may wish to read more sinister meaning into it.

What confuses me is that we dont have a clear view of her walking towards the post box the figure who approaches the postbox from the university road direction is walking backwards.
If you look at it the person we are told is CL posting something she is just shown at the post box then walking away in the Heworth direction.. It has me wondering if she arrived at Melrosegate PO in a car?

In the beginning her ferociously loyal friends would not hear anyone talking about her in the past tense I bet even the police wouldn’t dare refer to her in the past tense in front of JK SC
