It looks as if they should !

What confuses me is that we dont have a clear view of her walking towards the post box the figure who approaches the postbox from the university road direction is walking backwards.
If you look at it the person we are told is CL posting something she is just shown at the post box then walking away in the Heworth direction.. It has me wondering if she arrived at Melrosegate PO in a car?

Good thoughts @keep-it-real Perhaps she was dropped off just out of sight of the CCTV in a layby.
Perhaps she asked to be dropped as she had remembered she had something to post and then just as she was about to rejoin the lift Jo came along and gave er a lift to the final leg.
Was the red van seen passing her not very similar to one of the POIs PR company vehicles T***s***e

I don't see her walking backwards! She seems to have acquired a jacket in her right hand and the rucksack is more to her left side but she posts it without breaking her stride.

There is a slight question mark in my mind about the red van maybe having dropped her off - we just can't tell from the information we have been given but one of our members who knows about time vs distance travelled may be able to work that out based on police times on when she left YU to when was picked up by Jo.

Between 14:40 to 14:45 pick up @Yozzer and the final leg by car with Jo would take 3-4 minutes based upon traffic and congestion at that time of day, getting her to Heworth Road at 14:50 approx..

Semantics here @Blonderabbit Police are talking about the direction of her walk. As in "Claudia walks to work" Claudia walks home" it doesn't mean she gets there.

Yes but it would be very suspicious for the red van driver not coming forward with that info with the high chance Jo seeing the van !?

I know that she arrived home as I have checked as part of my research and asking the cold case team.

However the comment on the timeline did not assume this it was a directional statement.

That is why you cannot rely upon Microsite timeline alone and as @keep-it-real correctly mentions regularly, you have to do your own research rather than rely upon primary information.
