Who wears a hat like that?
Used to be years ago when hats were in vogue a sign used by police in unmarked vehicles that they were working, but I thought that all died out years ago

Curious....

Now that is an interesting spot!! That looks like someone waiting at the bus stop. Who wears that many white clothes? The man from Delmonti?

Like this style?

That is a good call. The rear lights look right and has the curves as well. Pretty sure it is a red colour though parked in front of the SUV outside CLs.
It is too small to be the silver car in the other cctv

I guess it's someone leaving a club or late night pub

Some images and vehicles are not always as you see them.. perhaps disguised for a reason

Just my opinion

Have you looked at Bolton rd, believe there was south stables equestrian or some similar sounding name.
Bolton Lane possibly? There is an equestrian place there

I still see hats worn like that by men, but only when I go horseracing, still surprisingly common there, the country look I presume

That’s a E class rather than a C class but good spot. I believe the E class is too large for the car in the cctv

Im not completely convinced it a mercedes, Im keeping an open mind on model the silver car and the truck ;)

Is it a similar style?
Quite widely worn by country men and woman.. Racegoers will recognise them as a popular style hat for guys especially for the winter meetings like The Cheltenham Races

Is anyone finding that 'Bolton Lane' fits in with other possible bits and pieces that they may have in connection with the case?

A couple of interesting Google SV spots. I have tried to paste the images but it hasn’t worked out.

August 2008- Mercedes C Class in silver stopped at the traffic lights outside Cost cutter.
Also seen heading back towards Heworth at the Shell petrol station on the Melrosegate junction.
August 2008 - Y registered Ford Ranger Thunder in black with truckman box on the rear. Spotted on Melrosegate near Ninth Avenue. Driver is stocky with dark curly hair

I hope this works.

just to add the truckman back is removable and isn’t a structural item. It wouldn’t fit the model with the chrome bar, that would need to be removed.

Hmm. The Ranger also appears to have the silver/grey trim on the wheel arches seen in the bus cctv. Is that standard for the model?

This following images are taken from 2008 on Heworth road and this vehicle was suggested as the same one as Wednesday evening.
Note the chrome roll bar and window tints. The earlier vehicle without the truckman back looks more likely as it does not have the window tints etc
Interestingly although the reg plates are blurred out the front one has a blue colouring on the left hand side suggesting it has a GB or other flag on it
