Can anyone from the Nags Head describe the man who mentioned the rucksack? Is he on CCTV anywhere? Also, how did he know she drank there and why has he maintained a low profile for 12 years?

could of been some crank, could of been genuine, Nags head was featured heavily in the early investigation so it wouldn't take much to deduce it is where she socialised

Suzy claimed that Claudia's phone was switched off or the battery was flat when she called her on the Thursday night. This suggests that the phone was switched on again by Claudia before it was switched off by someone at midday.

@UKjester Do you think the car in front of the Suv could be a Mercedes sl350auto?

When did the crank report the rucksack?

the phone was swithed off before Suzy rang it - it was switched off at 12.10pm on the 19th

I asked when not why?
apologies, I remember reading about. though dismissed it so did not record. Paul Jefferies I understand is the man who knows the case inside out

Just a little thing. I can't remember who asked me now but regarding construction workers at the canteen: I said the geography building was being built (it was actually humanities), because that was the closest construction site I could think of.

Anyway this building was under construction still in early 2009, finished in the summer of 2009. The Saul Berrick building. Somebody working on it could easily go to Goodricke canteen, although there is a canteen even closer.

Hey BR, very possibly. Something around a 2007 that has the horizontal clear stripes on the rear lights. What are you thinking?

Could the vehicle with distinctive silver wing mirrors abs silver detailing actually have been a Nissan neverra and not a Ford thunder ...
You are missing the most important part PJ

As long as NYP keep the case open the details of the case cannot be made public. Even if the family request the case be closed as 7 years the accepted timespan for presumption of death has been met in fact this can be shortened to 4 years if supporting evidence, statements from police and witnesses, the police can still decide to keep the case open.
At some stage you have to ask yourself why does this case still remain open after nearly 13 years

Presumption of death
The Presumption of Death Act 2013 came fully into force on 1 October 2014.

This Act enables an application to be made to the High Court for a declaration that a missing person, who is thought to have died or who has not been known to be alive for at least seven years, is presumed dead. Once it can no longer be the subject of an appeal, a declaration is conclusive as to the presumed death and effective for all purposes and against all persons. The missing person’s property passes to others and his or her marriage or civil partnership is ended.

Both Scotland and Northern Ireland have separate legislation governing the presumption of death.

IMO
why would they close an unsolved potential murder ... not sure families can ask police close investigations, it’s not up to them where a murderer could be on the loose...

because he didn’t exist is my guess ... the police were basing themselves in and around the pub at the time (was the Friday I think Jim said he went in - did people even know her bag etc was missing at this time as she wasn’t reported missing until 2.07pm) and you can’t tell me no one has the sense to get a name / photo of said possible abducter of Claudia and the images they had... so I call BS on Jim ...

Let’s hope Jim is reading this because why would he make it up ?
Plus he said ‘we’ told him to go to police !

Something like this

or this but I thought the car was a dark red colour from the CCTV.
I was trying to find a picture with an angle that corresponded with the CCTV position on the mystery car

Not that I am aware of. What directed you to suggest the SL350 in the first instance?
I have just watched the video again and the car seems to be too short I suspect. The angle of the rear plate still points me back to something small and compact like a TT.

Frustratingly not enough attention is being given to the white van Parked (with lights on) over the road from 46.
Surely the Lime Court cameras would be able to help identify that vehicle. The driver may have had a dash cam or have witnessed something or was possibly heading back to Cyprus from Glasgow.

If Sammons was in the UK to collect vehicles would be not have mentioned this to Claudia when she text him to ask “How are you Nug?”
