A question.
A thread or so ago, a sleuth was asking about the pro’s and cons of a few of Claudias Possessions taken to the nags by a young man who said he had found them - this man or the Scarf etc never traced. Is this hearsay or is it officially documented somewhere?

Single MSM source (afaik):
And the landlord of the Nags Head, Jim Melrom [sic], said: "A man came in here on Friday night believing he had pictures of Claudia's bag, shoe and scarf. We told him to go to the police but he hasn't been seen since."

When did Claudia plan to fly to Cyprus? Did someone take her place on the flight?

so that article was dated 29th March 2009 - so do we assume he meant Friday 27th? or Friday 20th. This could be a misrep. Has anyone asked cold case about this reference? (thank you @shadwell )

Pictures? So someone took images on their phone of CL's bag and other things instead of picking it up or alerting police.

Nah don't believe that.

It could be the killer or someone wasting time like Rodney Ballard.

Must be the 27th - first mention of the rucksack was on the 23rd afaik.

ok, then we are on the same page. So is this just a mis-rep in the paper or was it reported by Jim to the police? Has this question been asked by anyone - do we have an answer from cold case?

Oof. Six threads down.

Aaah. Have you been reading Rodney Ballard?

strange post?!? Why dig my post up? I haven’t been reading RB. I understand he is no longer with us. what similarities do my observations have?

As mentioned, from reviewing the CCTV the shape and size along with the reg plate position lead me to believe it maybe similar to a TT. Whilst the VW Beetle has the curves the placement of the rear reg plate is too low IMO.

Conflicting pieces of evidence.

The rucksack, together with her slippers at the front door, no signs of a struggle, nothing missing apart from rucksack etc, bed made, no screams all point to her leaving alive thro the front door.
HOWEVER.......
She is not seen leaving either on the 18th or 19th so how could that possibly have happened?

my mind goes round and round trying to figure it out. I have come to the conclusion its simple - Its impossible. So then I am led to rethink the rucksack. a possibility could be that the rucksack was used as a decoy - I can hardly believe someone was that cunning as to think about the significance of the rucksack - however its one of the only explanations. This would mean - potentially alleyway man when he went round the back was removing the rucksack and CL I think was perhaps elsewhere already, alive, happy chatting to her parents oblivious to what was to happen.

Sorry - not ‘having a pop’ - I’ve been reading through the threads from the start - just finished #6 and was checking to see which thread I first posted on so as to see how many more to go before I caught up. Your Audi post is one of the first on #14 (where I came in) and I had seen stuff re RB while reading through. He claimed that ‘vet come part-time hitman for the royal family’ Frank Wakefield owned a LHD Audi TT Quattro, so it caught my eye.

Nah don't believe that.

Was this the same person who is said to have seen a rucksack in the Uni grounds or was it a different person who saw a rucksack in a different location.
Did the person go into the NH with photos of his find looking for a handout?

Could you post the shot you have of the placement of the reg pate from the bus cam footage please

Was she already aware when she sent that text that she would have to leave Heworth for some reason for a short while.
.... and did JK answer this sms from Claudia? If she didn't: why not? Was this exchange of news between the two women interrupted? If it was: caused by what and on whose side, JK or CL?
