Even then, after 5 days or so an untreated corpse will be highly buoyant, and will often be washed ashore, or visible to near shore vessels.

Disposing of bodies is very difficult. In practice only highly organised violent groups (like the PIRA), and a few freak cases get away with it.

Welllllll, the easiest way to dispose of a body is to drive down to Hull and dump it into the river

the sea always gives up its dead I was told

Not necessarily, I remember the boy from Brighton. Who’s signal got lost near the sea cliffs, his body’s never been found. And police said his body is probably lost at sea to his mum when he went missing through the lockdown last year.

The people with significant control are Iona officers - Davies and Dunn (I think now deceased).

But you are right to correct me that not ALL the Pall Mall listed directors are Iona officers - two, surnames Jones, list their occupation as farmers. I don't know, but these could either be outside farmers brought in by Iona during the takeover. Or might be the local previous owners who maintain a role in the new firm.
Yes, look at the other addresses associated with the J surname

This case reminds me of Libby Squires whose killer worked in Malton

Not in 2009, he didn’t. He was at school in Poland.

These searches have triggered a long forgotten memory

I'm referring to the Malton bit, that's all

Do you believe there is a connection to someone working in a meat processing factory as opposed to someone being a perverted Polish butcher?

Brushcutters going in again earlier per YL and ITV videos - looks like they’re clearing more areas for possible GPR/excavation. Not sure if that’s a good or bad sign.

They already said it's expected to take a few days so hopefully not a bad sign.

No! The only link is Malton

Yeah you could feed a body to pigs or put it through a tree cutter all manner of ghastly things but in reality the average joe doesn’t have access to that sort of stuff so burial is the only way you really can dispose of it. Or of course weighted down in a lake.
My thinking is - it’s wasn’t planned - average Joe the Poi’s are not (re the 9) apart from snelling - I would put in the cat of “resourceful” whatever has happened IMO it’s happened at pace.

If Claudia is found at the gravel pits, the killer must be familiar with the area - enjoys fishing or walks/runs/rides there at weekends. He chose the deposition site very carefully and didn't bury her there by chance.

So he could revisit the grave do you mean?

no

I don’t think he would re-visit I just think as the police do - it’s someone close to Claudia snd the police would suspect him first - so he had to get rid and quick. I think most people at sometime in their lives consider what they’d do with a body. Under pressure there’s not a lot of choice snd you can only go so far without raising suspicion.
Here’s a question - if certain people are found to have had knowledge all along - what should happen to them - should they face prosecution ?

Absolutely! With holding information in murder investigation where the family have been in such distress deserves a few years jail time in my mind

For anyone reading this forum fairly new to this case it really is one you more you read the background the rumours the possibilities and above all the desperation to find claudia and the truth the more it draws you in- very sad and upsetting yet compelling to want to help. There was a book written a few years ago on behalf of her father called - Gone -The Disappearance of Claudia Lawrence and Her Father's Desperate Search for the Truth by Neil Root. It is out of print publication nowadays but still freely around second hand ebay bookshops order etc for around 10-20 pounds. Essentially provides more background alongside the anguish of her family. When it was first produced her father insisted proceeds went to missing persons charity- fair play to him. By all accounts her family have been a credit to claudia over the years nice polite people great shame her dad passed away. lets just hope she is found laid to rest in the dignified caring way she deserves and her perpetrator/s if she has been murdered are given whole life sentences (in my opinion)

That was pretty much a waste of time. Couldn't get any closer than this, I drove up to the sign to turn around, only thing in sight was a police van next to the red barrier. This road block is 1/2 mile down the road from the gravel pits.

Thank you for the links above!

( Just following on from my previous post re Environmental Surveys, I see from the Forestry Commission document linked that it is an important area for the Common Water Vole & a breeding site for Nightjar.

Sorry somewhat off the topic of Claudia Lawrence)

However I am relatively local to York & Claudia has never been forgotten.

I really hope Claudia is found for the sake of her poor family & friends. My thoughts are with them as they wait for news.

Also that those responsible for her disappearance can be brought to justice!
