Because she left a fork on the left side of her dishes so "clearly" she must of had a visitor because no right handed person ever used their left hand. What does Claudia's preferred table etiquette have to do with her disappearance?
Following this case closely and signed up here as it is very local to me, I fished the gravel pits weekly for years, worked at monk bar hotel at the same time as and knew CL, knocked around heworth and the pubs there when I was younger. Its interesting to read both on social media and the news updates and info but there are so many inaccuracies posted about the gravel pits relative to size and layout. I will chip in where I can help with local knowledge and hope the current activity turns up answers to Yorks biggest mystery.
First time poster but avidly interested in this case and have read many of these previous threads.
My interest lies in the fact that I'm fairly local to the area and am the same age as Claudia. I didn't know her but have friends/relatives who did slightly, in her younger days. People recall her as being friendly and fun.
I believe whatever happened to her happened very shortly after speaking to her mother, and it happened at home, and her body removed. I believe she received a visitor who she opened the door to, this being someone she knew. He either meant to cause her harm from the off, or it was a crime of passion in the moment. Her body was then removed via the back alley and Nags head car park, possibly with the help of others. The house was staged to make it look as if she'd gone to work the following morning. Their success in covering up I believe was down to luck more than anything else, as I doubt these were professional criminals.
I feel this case has huge similarities with the Joanna Yeates case. She was strangled in her own home by someone she knew - albeit very slightly, and her home did not show signs of any struggle. It was only because her body was found so quickly that the perpetrator was discovered.
If she'd gone out the evening before, after speaking to her mum, there would be some evidence to show that - CCTV / witnesses. Likewise if she'd set off for work as normal the following morning.
I dearly hope the police find something in these searches and that the info that has taken them there is credible. So sad that her father died this year without knowing what happened to her.
I suggest that Claudia used a fork in her right hand, placed it in the bowl and then rotated the bowl by 180 degs to rest on the left.I think that's an older generation thing. My mum is left handed and in her 70s and she vividly remembers being punished for it and the constant authoritatian need for correction. I am in my 40s and no-one,school or otherwise has ever tried to correct the way I hold my cutlery.
What makes you think this FreddyDogg?I don’t think the house or the breakfast dishes or the toothbrush has anything to do with Claudia going missing, I think she was grabbed on the way to work and bundled in the car.
Going by that, she’s definitely had Spaghetti Carbonara with a side plate of cheesy garlic bread then cleaned her teeth at the sink!I’m going to bite re ‘handedness’ - not because of the fork position (it could have slid round), but because of the way the toothbrush is sitting on the drainer.
