anyone who knew Claudia would know that she spent an enormous amount of time on her phone.
the perp wouldn't have wanted to interrupt a phone call in case. Claudia. gave something away to the person she was calling or they heard something in the background.
I think this makes it more likely. that someone was with Claudia when she phoned her mother...the alternative would have been to loiter outside her door, trying her phone number until it was no longer engaged...less likely

The nags head has a large car park, it’s unlikely the SUV parked outside Claudias house featured on the bus cctv released by NYP had anything to do with a quiz night or the football.

If there happens to be a discussion running alongside this one that has room for another participant I would be be open to joining it if possible?.
Sometimes I find most of us try to keep the discussion going well but it inadvertently gets derailed and shut down and i would really hope to continue it.

I think it is unlikely these contents of the sink are from Wednesday 18th. We know Claudia arrived home (Heworth) after work between 2&3pm on the 18th - all signs of life ceased at around8.23pm - 8.31pm. So I think it’s likely these contents are from Tuesday 17th. In my opinion.
Did all signs of life cease?
Or was she:

Asleep as tired from the alleged "Being out all night before with a new Boyfriend"-She mentioned to Oxer her work colleague, if they can be trusted.

Enjoying her time with a visitor-dinner followed by perhaps in passionate embrace, then bed?

Could she have been with someone that night who went on to kill her or did others get into her house and kill her, and the someone she was with was either part of the plot or to frightened to speak out.

All IMO

Having researched this case in depth, looking at the case as a whole - I see it like this - to a degree the sink, how she got home from work, how she got to work, what she did in the afternoon after work is irrelevant - something happened on Friday 13th March 2009 that set the wheels in motion. Claudia just went about her life as normal to a degree - she avoided the nags head realising the seriousness of whatever had happened. Though her murder had started to be planned - you can see on the bus cctv it all kicking off outside Claudias on Wednesday 18th December 2009 at 9.01pm - you can clearly see a man emerging between the cars in front of the SUV this took place a good 25mins after the final sign of life from Claudia - coincidence?
Someone who knew Claudia's behaviours may well have decided that the "Witching hour"-Time after when Claudia was unlikely to be having conversations on the phone or messaging was 9pm.

It was reported that Claudia spoke to her Father and Mother that night, her mum called during Location, Location, Location being aired as they both enjoyed the programme, her Mother called Claudia as she wanted to enquire about a reliable Taxi firm for a friend for Claudia to recommend.
That call in itself was likely to be unscheduled and Claudia took the call.

If Claudia did not answer after 9pm however, it would not be deemed suspicious as most would feel she had taken an early night.

However

it could have been a coincidence that 2 vehicles were parked in that location.
Often people will decant a Pub and go onto another location.
This could have just been simply a group of Nags Head revellers all jumping into vehicles to go elsewhere and not parking outside the pub as there were no available parking spaces.

I don't think there is one...ive looked.
it depends what you want it for...if its to spark you into new ideas or correct other posters ideas, then go. backwards because we've changed our minds a few times to get. to the opinions we hold now.
I think ive come to a still stand, but ill endeavour to plough on..........
another and more obvious. reason for thinking someone involved in Claudius murder was with her when her mother phoned is you'd. want to make sure no one else was with her...you could send. some sort of signal if anyone else. arrived.
I know if anyone else was there you could pretend you'd just dropped in, but it would be very awkward...especially if you had a bag .
the best way to get Claudia on her own....how about sorting out a problem, woman to woman...I think the person may have put something in a drink to. make. Claudia sleepy...I can't see it being a noisy, charging into the room attack

Well put !

if you're doing an operation like kidnapping or. killing someone, you'd need certainty...it would be a bit risky relying on probability....british understatement.
the fact that her call with her mother was unscheduled is neither here nor there...indeed, by your very argument the perps might. have thought it better to wait until around nine at. the earliest

whatever we come up with in this case, the police will have thought of it, I'm sure, and they can't prove it

They just need corroboration in my opinion and that could come from someone identifying someone in one of the posted videos by police.

has anyone mentioned quiz night or the football? If just picking mates up from Pub they may just park on the street outside rather than pull into the pub rear car park.

Of course-Many have always assumed that Claudia was the target.
What we don't know is if someone who was with her, that Claudia was shielding, was the target.
We know that Claudia is missing-murdered, but do we know of someone else who could be missing-dead or obtained that we are not privy to.
Claudia could have been collateral damage.

id never deny that this could be possible, or that it could be one person who. planned and executed it or. who accidentally killed Claudia...if you. look back through my threads, you'll see. ive entertained all. those ideas.

I just. think that, considering. everything, what ive put forward is the most likely explanation for me bit I could be completely wrong.

no good asking me to identify anyone on the. cctv.....do you really think that's all the police need.

ive always been more intrigued by why done it than whodunnit, but id obviously like to know both

I'm thinking along the same lines of someone arranging to go to her house to sort things out. One of the neighbours interviewed at the time said something about remembering seeing Claudia meet her friends at the nags on a thursday night. If this was a regular get together I would imagine that other regular pub drinkers would be aware of this. If something had taken place the weekend before, and Claudia had been avoiding the nags head as a consequence, then the wednesday night seems the perfect opportunity for someone to suggest sorting things out over a drink in private.

I also have suspicions of something being put in her drink in order to get her to leave quietly.

ETA link to the interview where neighbour Tommy Ward says he thinks it was a thursday the girls usually met up

Who is it? Newly released CCTV shows suspicious figure near Claudia's home

Just thinking over Cortina’s post re would someone have been present whist she called mum and dad. On the evening of the 18th it was reported she spoke to three people on the phone. Her dad , her mum and a friend from Malton who said she wished she had insisted she took a taxi. Anyone know what time that call occurred on the evening of the 18th? Her call with her mum ended at 8.30pm so was her call to her friend after this?

On from Cortina’s theory, So a possibility then Is alleyman 7.15pm on the 18th went to Heworth place to pick up what he needed to carry out the deed in a rucksack - returning to the front of Claudias house - knows Claudia, perhaps has had a relationship with Claudia and knows her routine, sits there whilst she is on the phone and then immediately does the deed? Heworth place is a relatively small area - does anyone know of anyone staying/living there that has had a relationship in the past with Claudia ?
