He may not be involved directly but in the course of the investigation enquiries move from the house to friends pub and work and he has a connection to all and correct me if im wrong but he owned a ford focus and was known to give her a lift to work..
The investigation concentrates on a lover ...take away the lover connection and consider if he or he knew someone that were doing something at the college that was underhand or unlawful and confided in CL ..did CL tell DO and in turn DO tell MS what he knew and who told him
Is DO not just. A glory seeking toad.
The best police could do with him is to charge him with PTCOJ.
If he was interviews 4 times before he remembered the new boyfriend story, I'm sure they have statements where he has declared that he has no material evidence to contribute and so I would lock him up.
He isn't worth spending time on.

That is why sites like this are important, helps keep the pressure up to get it solved
but why if these POI's are criminal types with involvement in drug and other unlawful activities why have they not been targeted by the police with charges bought against them with possible jail time. This would definately send a message to all drug/criminal types that they are not above the law and these activities will not be tolerated in society on any level. Im sure this would result in renewed faith from the public and allow perhaps the window of opportunity that people could feel they could now come forward.
You have to ask yourself in 10+ years surely if what is being implied about these men and their activities are true (and criminal types rarely change their behaviour) Where and from who are they receiving protection from?
Despite Dai Malyn's fresh approach the case appears to have stalled again.
I would like to add I do not know or ever wish to know any of the POI's.

What if he DID tell them but they did not record it.
“Sorry there is no record of you telling us so “
They hardly going to tell public he told us but we forgot to pass it on “
At one time you had over 100 officers asking questions!
Easy to forget things unless you put pen to paper or tape

I think it would be a mistake do dismiss anyones direct or indirect involvement in this complex and mysterious case

Drug taking / selling drugs is nothing compared to possibly murder?
It is possible that drug taking and selling drugs might even become lawful in the near future .

My point is that this would show people that people are actively keeping up the presure on these people

I dont think the prime minster agrees with that possibility yesterday he outlined his plans to target county line drug gangs and restrictions to limit anonymous pay-as-you-go phones.

Because IMO they could be part of a much larger trafficking set up that includes some of the following:
Armouries
Drugs
People
Money laundering
Property

as the amount of money is huge, don't expect to be surprised if sênior figures with influence are involved.

I repeat ( sorry ) beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that includes when looking in a mirror!
You're right, I apologised for the comment.

MS probably frequented this pub because Claudia did but why PL did is beyond me[/QUOTE]

Perhaps PL was keeping an eye on CL?

I seriously doubt that. Drug dealing carries a very heavy prison sentence. Up to life for supply and production of Class A.

This might well be the case but if these men are engaging in criminal activity North Yorkshire Police have a responsibility to clean up their patch! We arent talking about a few months here these activites came to light when CL went missing its inconceivable to me that NYP would give activities like this a free run for 10+ years

NYP would have no say. If NCO were involved or Special Branch NYP would be told what to do.

Agree but things can change .Many prominent people believe drugs should become legal .Obviously that would not mean they are safe .
But this is another debate for now they are illegal.

I would not be surprised if the police have turned a blind eye re drugs in pursuit of facts re CL.

My question to them would be why should ordinary people in ordinary communities be expected to live alongside drug dealing /criminal scum for 10+ years while the powers that be might be trying to hunt down the the big fish.
Ordinary people just want a society where their streets and children are safe now. Its not beyond a police force to enforce this and they damn well should or be held accountable if they dont

It’s easier said then done !
I was a juror recently in a drugs case and the police were only successful because a junkie ( his own admission ) had had enough and grassed the dealer. It takes guts and some persuasion from the police for the witness to stand up and point at the dealer

  • #618
This proves the point I was trying to make ... dealers have power over are streets.
I agree it does take real guts.. and theres no doubt that some that have have paid for it with their lives.. There is undoubtle fear out there but who has let it get to this stage because as I understand it a police force is responsible for the policing of our streets and keeping them safe
Boris Johnson has pledged to increase police numbers by 20,000 I hope he does because we need every single one of them

I tend to agree but drugs in society have killed thousands of people and contribute to the largest % of crime in the UK-Unfortunately Claudia head counts as One.

And its shocking that 1000's more will die because the people that peddle this misery are not afraid of the police.
