Because of the nature of its content I believe the conversation would have been held in another room in the NH well away from the main bar.
But I think some people at the NH were aware of what CL had said, they would have definately felt the tensions rising, they just decided to keep out of it and not get involved
That's very precise! @keep-it-real I tend to agree with you.

As the NH had multiple bars, do we know which times each bar was open? Or were they all open at the same times?

Did Claudia never open her living room curtains?
Most people open their curtains in the morning before they leave the house

I remember Moonsafari saying there was a Sports bar round the back in which one of the alleged arrested tended to drink more than in the main front area although not saying he's connected to this latest theory.

Could be something, could be nothing really. She was in a rush/abducted from the house that morning so curtains remained closed.

Or she left the house on the previous evening with it dark and curtains closed and never returned.....

Or maybe this was her annual habit given at that time it was dark when she left for her shifts and she'd come back in the afternoon and open up the house and get the light in then.

Ironically it's a trait of some people who are going away for a few days to draw curtains so not to alert potential thieves the house is unoccupied as dark house and undrawn curtains would indicate, there were house crimes in that area in the few weeks beforehand IIRC.

I assume in the days after she vanished there were tests down on all furniture/equipment in the house to see if there were any "alien" fingerprints around.

I'm sure I read an article where someone commented she never opened her curtains and it seemed like a metaphor for her life (hidden secrets). That may sound a bit lyrical but on the Aug 2008 google map, all her curtains are shut in broad daylight.

Im just double checking the date the night CL spent with her mystery lover on the Missing or Murdered programme DO said on the morning of the 17th CL dislosed to him she had sent the nite with a mystery lover so that means it was the nite of 16th. I notice MajorLang says in his blog it was the 17th?
17th March 2009 was St Patricks day and I read somewhere CL was out with the mystery lover that nite. So Im a bit confused. Was it the 16th or 17th
can anyone confirm which nite it was or was she out both nites.. Or Has DO dropped himself in it

It was Tuesday 17 th March
Ref Gone page 152

I have the missing or murdered programme taped so I have played DO interview back several times.
DO says at work on the Tues which was 17th Claudia looked rough and had disclosed to him that she had spent all night with a man the night before which was the 16th? ..
hmm.. either she had someone staying with her and she went out the 16 and 17th or DO has dropped himself in it because if it was 17th DO must have seen her on the morning of the 18th to known she had spent all night with someone

Deleted not clear enough

It is so easy to make genuine mistakes just like when her phone was switched off
12:10 pm some you tubers thought it was 10 minutes after midnight!
Also same with my own observations that Friday evening is considered to be the ‘weekend’ .Its not according to ‘my’ policemen !

Its too blurry for me to make out clearly but it confirms she told DO on the 17th yes?.. that would mean that it was actually the night of 16th that she spent with the mystery man.

DO was simply saying she explained her rough appearance due to her saying goodbye to a ‘friend’ 1 or 2 hours before starting work

Thats OK I always thought it was the nite of the 16th had to be really if you think about it. Or how else would DO have known about it from CL

I find that interesting so probably nothing untoward. It was a sunny week so would surely have opened them in the afternoons when getting back, that's a little odd quirk to me.

DCI Galloway said the following to the media on

Detective Superintendent Ray Galloway described the latest development as “extremely hot intelligence”.

He said: “Critically, information has come to us only today whereby we understand that Claudia has told (someone) that she was actually out on one of the evenings, on one of the nights which immediately preceded her disappearance - out into the very early hours with what she described as a boyfriend and we are talking deep into the night, half past four or five o’clock in the morning.

“That is something we didn’t know previously.
I’m appealing (for that person to) please come forward because there is nothing suspicious in that, it is just the fact we do need to eliminate that person from our investigation.”

He added: “It would appear to be reliable information and I have got no reason to doubt it. It is significant that we do identify who that person is.”

Police said a friend (Now known to be Oxer but still to be confirmed by Police as such) remarked on March 17 - the day before she disappeared - that Miss Lawrence looked tired and she replied she had spent the night with a “boyfriend”.

So here it is said that she remarked to Oxer on Tuesday March 17th that she had been out all night (Evening 16th / Morning 17th)

If you recall the early reporting's of this was that she had been out until 5am on Tuesday 17th.

Discussions then continued in Social Media and included comments by her Dad that if she was out all night until 5am on 17th, she would not have the energy to have been out on 18th (The crucial evening)

The bit that may have confused was the comment-"The Day before she dissapeared" with many believing that she went missing on 19th Morning.

For clarification I have corrected my blog to reflect the change. Thank you @keep-it-real

What this does mean is that she may have had a night off on 17th and gone out on night of 18th or in fact been out both nights.

We wont know if Claudia had been out all night on 17/18 (St Patricks and 18/19. )
Oxer only refers to night of 16/17 and her being tired and proclaiming that she was out until 5am.

If Oxer was not on shift on morning of 18th or missed her then he may not have been able to comment.

What I find even more alarming is that Oxer or her manager didn't seem troubled when Claudia a "Very Loyal" employee who would go to work even if ill and wouldn't let colleagues down is not missed on morning of 19th or 20th and only when Peter Lawrence calls on Morning of 20th do they reveal that she has not attended now for 2 shifts.

What this correction does now do is make the appearance of the man at her door on 16th likley to be the "New Boyfriend" albeit she must have known him based upon her reaction as follows

Monday 16th

Time 14:30-15:00

Man with Hip length Tan coloured thin Mac type jacket with a hood seen on phone walking along Heworth Road, he had a small dark rucksack with very little in it and approaching Claudia’s house.

Description

In 30’s, 5’9” to 5”10”

White, Clean shaven, Very neat Dark Brownish hair and cut stylishly with a fringe.

He was dressed smartly but casually and wore Dark Jeans / Chinos / Trousers with dark footwear.

Claudia comes to the door, she is also on the phone and is surprised to see him then lets him in. Before doing so she looks up and down the road.

Why does she do this?

If they are a stranger, would she be concerned if locals were aware of his presence?

Was he in trouble and fleeing from someone and seeking refuge in Claudias house?

Was this person staying with Claudia and was he still there on nights of 17th and importantly 18th March when Claudia dissapeared, were they an “old flame” perhaps someone from her much visited holiday destination of Cyprus or her ex Boyfriend Dan Whitehand.

What we do know is that Dan Whitehand was reported as being in Scarborough on the Evening of Wednesday 18th March. So this is unlikely.

It is highly likely that this person was staying at Claudias for a few days and would explain why she was not “Present” at the Nags Head or in person to assist Jen with her problems.

I wonder why Galloway refered to Oxer as a friend and not a colleague?!!!
